Random but as someone who is much more experienced in the modern EXE/Sonicpasta/Sonic fan horror community, seeing Sonexe shippers on here who are clearly going on more of an abstract and fandomized view of original X and aren’t really paying attention to current stuff can be really funny sometimes.

isn't that basically in a nutshell what the exe community thrives off of? taking sonic.exe as an abstract concept and taking upon your own creative liberties with it, like the exe oc you just showed off in the same post? and since i'm like 99.9% sure that the "exie" nickname mention is directed at me, umm yes i'm aware of his existence, and you kinda pass it off as if "exie" is any sort of particularly unique name to come up with as a name for an exe in the first place (an addition of a single extra character 😭)

i'm not trying to accuse that your intentions with this post is anything completely mean-spirited, but i just wanted to point out that how you worded your post may come across as a little "gatekeepy". i can't help but admittedly feel especially irked with the "not keeping up with current stuff" assumption because what do you know? what if the "x" they're depicting in their art isn't even supposed to be x? what if they're just meant to be another personal take of sonic.exe as a character and they made it a conscious decision to keep it separate from the current official canon, an exe oc even? i think that should be something to at least be considerate about

I'm really sorry if I made you uncomfortable. I just really like every SonEXE thing you draw and I thought this meme fit them well so I was overjoyed. And I love fankids. Plus I was in a pretty hyper state that day so I got a little too excited in my reply and come to think of it : it probably sounded very weird. I'm very sorry about it all.
