Am i the only one who finds it weird how people will believe predators when they are shifting their blame onto porn almost unquestionably while STILL on trial and just getting arrested and questioned, but when already incarcerated predators are used by lawyers to validate the crumbling reputation of the polygraph by asking them if they are abused as kids before and after testing and somehow more than half fail it because of how a polygraph works by checking sweat, heart beats and so on(you can not convince they properly prepared and informed their subjects, you can not), because no matter how desensatized one is to commit such crimes if you are abused you should feel something when remembering, idk it just feels like a copout really, like a The Devil Made Me Do It kinda of narrative where we are taking away the agency and self control of predators and lowkey victimising them where there isn't any victim good really?

1) alcoholism and self harm are not comparable producing art or content for the sake of liberating catharsis or controlling bad behaviours and impulses caused by trauma or losing the genetic lottery, creation of art and content is not self.bynitself.and never will be, self harm is something that will be defined by your therapist and they will help you moderate and gradually stop destructive behaviour and anything that doesn't have a real pay off for your betterment

2) if someone properly tags content with trigger warnings on the tags or the post itself in text, but and Tumblr filter will hide the post and tell exactly why it was hidden, again, you are showing your personal bias here to the point of insukting something irrationally because you can't take a couple.minutes of your day to make your own life easier it seems, or you are seeking to have problems and confrontations with peope which makes your whole demonization of such content very invalid tbh. "But people dont tag!" No, because their coping isn’t dirty or disgusting. The fact that they are coping is not something that should be treated as if it is a skeleton in the closet or a disgusting secret. Allowing them to openly cope helps them build a supportive community of both survivors and non-survivors.

Non-survivors are as important to the recovery of survivors as other survivors are. Support networks and encouragement are a thing. Someone doesn’t have to be a survivor in order to support someone.

False. It may be harmful to them but they are not other people. They do not speak for everyone. What is harmful to them may not be harmful to someone else. Their triggers are not someone else’s triggers.

This is why tagging and trigger warnings exist. So people can avoid them. If someone is triggering, avoid it. If someone didn’t properly tag it, just let them know in a way that isn’t telling them that they’re a bad and horrible person that doesn’t care about survivors because of a human error or simply not knowing. 

“My therapist told me that it is harmful to me and therefore I shouldn’t surround myself with them and if they’re harmful to me then–”

It is harmful… to you. Something being a setback in your path to recovery is not the same as it being a setback in someone else’s path to recovery. Your path to recovery is not mine, my path to recovery is not someone else’s, and someone else’s path to recovery is not yours. Everyone is different and there is no universal path to recovery. If playing games is harmful to someone’s ability to cope, then they shouldn’t play games. However, if playing games is helpful to someone else’s ability to cope then they should play games. Person A has different needs than Person B and person B has different needs from Person C. Just because it is harmful to person A doesn’t mean it will harm person B or C.

Then either block/blacklist the tags and encourage people to tag it so you can block/blacklist it or fuck off.
