just write a diary, it has helped me sooo much and i dare say it has been the most developing thing i’ve done while learning french, nothing else compares

1. you’re exposed to the language daily

2. you quickly see which words are missing from your vocabulary

3. you learn to write about the things you think about a lot

4. learning to actually think in your target language

5. having to look up words and when reading the entry back a couple of days later you can’t even remember which words you didn’t know

6. going back to the earlier entries and seeing all the mistakes and knowing how much better you’ve become

7. when you’ve been writing for a few months and your target language becomes a natural way for expressing yourself

8. when you’ve been writing for a few months and you start seeing the diary writing as a way of self-expression and stressrelief, and the language learning aspect becomes natural and secondary

9. filling out a whole book using only your target language and physically seeing how much you’ve accomplished

Remembered when Steven took me to watch Inside Out and ohh how I cried so much because some things finally made sense; I never learned to regulate my emotions

he never liked watching cartoon movies with me which hurt cuz I’m childlike but he did that day it was around Fourth of July in the city where it took place and I wore a thrifted dress with my sambas

he may have been a bitch but he let me be me sometimes good or bad he accepted some parts good or bad

I like to think having him as my boyfriend for so long technically did save me from a lot more potentially added sexual assault and trauma cuz he would take care of me during a time that I especially abused substances and didn’t value life

oh Steven. In another universe—not Steven universe—you didn’t hurt me so much neither did I and I had your baby because you did want to be a dad that’s something you really wanted and that always meant a lot to me

but we killed each other and resurrected and now we’re strangers <3

How beautiful

I met my little niece for the first time yesterday; she changed me. I was so mesmerized by her. I carried her and she just stared at me and my braces; it was truly special.

Meeting her inspired me to love myself more, to be present, to be the best me and to enjoy this beautiful, short life I am so lucky to have.
