It’s Ringo Starr’s birthday!! Peace and Love!!
Hello it’s me, the mun!
After a long while I have come back here to check around on things. I usually drop by here on Ringo’s birthday and occasionally on big holidays like Christmas. Not much has changed on Tumblr it seems. It is somewhat more tame (in terms of activity) in the aspect of roleplay for the most part, or maybe I haven’t been online much to follow the new classic rock blogs yet. haha
Life’s been really crazy. I’m currently working from home in a job that is generally okay but I’m living paycheck to paycheck. I got this job way back in 2018 and never really left. It gets really hectic especially during maintenance days. There are times that I feel really low, and it really takes a toll on my productivity.
On the flipside, home is still where I am. The guy I liked back in college apparently liked me all this time, and we were together starting that same year as well. He started to stay at periods at a time, especially at the height of quarantine protocols where we all had to stay at home.
I’m trying to get a hold of my life, and play video games on the side and stream when I have the energy to. Maybe you can drop by if you feel like seeing FPS games (namely Rainbow Six Siege) on my stream
The pandemic has taken a lot of our time away from our usual schedules and routines. Hope you guys are healthy and that you’re able to get your vaccine. I’m still waiting for mine.
I hope you guys are doing well. As per usual I would still drop by here from time to time. You can message me here on Tumblr if you have any concerns or want to keep in touch! :) <3 Peace and Love!

"Every bit as warm, unassuming, funny, and kind as he seems. He was quite simply the heart of the Beatles." – John Lennon

What Ringo does on the most basic of terms is make the music feel good - Bob Cianci
He has unrivalled feel for a song. If his timing fluctuates, it invariably does so in the right place at the right time, to keep the right atmosphere going on the track and give it a rock solid foundation -- George Martin
As a drummer, he was a natural—purely intuitive, remarkably tasteful, spirited [ . . . ] his willingness to lay back and take directions and feed the others was what allowed the Beatles’ sound to take such powerful flight [ . . . ] Time and again, the Beatles rode his backbeat to glory - Martin Torgoff
When I play on any record, I'm striving to get where Ringo is. You play what doesn't take you out of the song. - Benmont Tench

"Ringo knew where the beat was on the greatest creative streak in popular music... which is quite a responsibility. He defined the pulse of the group. He knew their secret." - David Hepworth
While he hasn't got any technique to speak of, he realizes how important it is for a song to feel good. His feel is absolutely tremendous - Peter Blake
Instead of just counting the bars, he’s playing the song - Don Was
‘There is little question that the invitation to join the Beatles was the single luckiest thing that ever happened to Ringo Starr. But Ringo’s acceptance of that invitation was also one of the luckiest things that ever happened to the Beatles.’ - Jonathan Gould
"His drumming is like life—it gives you the most solid beat" - Yoko Ono
"More than any other drummer, Ringo Starr changed my life. [...] I can still see him in the back moving that beat with his whole body, his right hand swinging off his sock cymbal while his left hand pounds the snare. He was fantastic, but I think what got to me the most was his smile. I knew he was having the time of his life" - - - Max Weinber

"We loved him. And we just thought he was the very best drummer we’d ever seen. And we wanted him in the group. We were big fans of his." - - - Paul McCartney

Happy Birthday Ringo Starr // July 7, 1940.
I’ve never been able to sit round on my own and play drums, practice in the back room, never been able to. I’ve always played with other musicians. It’s how I play, there’s no joy for me in playing on my own, bashing away. I need a bass, a piano, guitar, whatever, and then I can play.

//Hi, hope it’s alright if I ask, but are you open to plotting, and do you prefer tagged starters or Askbox starters?
((Hello! Omg I am so sorry this is soooo late... I kinda prefer tagged or askbox starters, because I have some problems with building a plot (I kinda lose focus I am sorry huhu) but if you are more comfortable with that I could try it out!! 😊))

“At a private reception Saturday at artist Shepard Fairey’s Subliminal Projects gallery in Echo Park, Starr was perusing the lyrics to one of the previously unpublished songs included in the new volume, one that name-checked him, ‘Hey Ringo.’After smiling at a rhyme about ‘my guitar sounds so bare/when your drums aren’t there,’ the 75-year-old drummer became choked with emotion by the next line: ‘Hey Ringo, there’s one thing that I’ve not said/I’ll play guitar with you till I drop dead.’‘I’m sorry,’ he said, his eyes misting and turning back toward his wife, actress Barbara Bach.” - Los Angeles Times, 24 February 2017
“The book includes a handful of lyrics never recorded, including something from the early Seventies called ‘Hey Ringo,’ which includes the line: ‘Hey Ringo, there’s one thing that I’ve not said/I’ll play my guitar with you till I drop dead.’ 'I was really moved because I’d never seen it,’ Ringo Starr told Rolling Stone, minutes after seeing the song for the first time during a weekend VIP celebration of the book at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles. 'He was my best friend. I had two other great friends, and three brothers. We were pals.’” - Rolling Stone, 2 March 2017
