SOAP Gateway Security Features
IMS Enterprise Suite SOAP Gateway continues to enhance security options to protect your critical business data. With the latest Fix Pack releases, a transaction can be secured from the client via HTTPS and then through a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection with IMS™ Connect. Security can be enabled per message, per web service, or for the entire SOAP Gateway server. New SOAP Gateway security enhancements provide additional flexibility, support for industry standards, and improve interoperability with your existing security infrastructure through:
Java keystore (JKS) security
IBM z/OS® Application Transparent Transport Layer Security (AT-TLS)
WS-Security with Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) Token Profile 1.1
Custom Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS) Module
Corrected Link: To find out more about these security features find full article here: http://ow.ly/5O1ee

Capturing Eclipse Console Output in a Log File
Output from your programs in most Eclipse-based IDEs is, by default, sent to the console. By default, the number of characters the console can display is limited. This can cause you to "lose" output that may be needed for diagnosis if there is a problem. An example of such diagnostic output is the DRDA trace output generated by IMS Open Database.
To allow your program to automatically capture and log your console output, take the following steps:
In Eclipse, make sure the program that you want to capture the trace from is loaded.
Click on Run -> Debug Configurations...
When the Debug Configurations dialog box appears, click on the Common tab on the right side.
Under the section Standard Input and Output, check the File box.
Click on the File System button to specify the file you want to save the output to (file will be created if it does not exist).
You can click the Append box if you want to always append to the output file, or leave unchecked if you want to overwrite old output every run
Now your console output will be saved every time you run your program

Why would IMS Resource Adapter not reconnect after losing the connection to IMS Connect

If you are using IMS TM Resource Adapter's with following setting:
Software: WESB 7.0.0.2 and IMS TM Resource Adapter 11.2.1
Use case: Synchronous ICAL
Adapter configuration:
retryInterval=60000
retryLimit=0.
stopPollingOnError=false
You might getting following error mesage:
"ICO0003E: connect() error" and "ICO0005E: getMessage() error"
So how do I resolve this ????
Change the value of retryLimit to a non zero value.
According to defintion of retryLimit: The maximum number of times the IMS TM resource adapter will attempt to reconnect to IMS Connect if a connection is lost.
So make sure you have a non zero value defined for retryLimit.
Happy IMSing!!!!

Avoid CICS connection issues after IMS v11 upgrade
photo credit creativechick on Flickr
Are you doing an IMS v11 upgrade? Do you use CICS to connect to IMS DB via DBCTL? Avoid connection issues after the upgrade by doing the following:
Update CICS PROC to point to V11 libraries and the library with the updated DFSPRP. NOTE: Reassembly of the DRA (DFSPZPxx) using the V11 MACRO (DFSRPR) is not required unless you are changing parameter values (such as as the dsname of the DRA RESLIB) or want to use new functions. Though not required we do recommend reassembly of the DRA with FUNCLV=2.
