Happy that SSL is getting localized, but my feelings are also complicated. I will NEVER complain about more Hakuouki content but:

SSL has never been my thing because I feel like with most historical figures, and with the Shinsengumi especially who are very much unique products of their era, taking away their historical origins usually leads to awkward characterization and flimsy motivations. Idk how you make Souji make sense in any other setting. Bro really is obsessed with the principal.

I'm autistic and the whole "maintaining strictly professional relationships with professors because they're your professors and not your friends" is already kinda difficult for me and I don't necessarily need to immerse myself in media that seriously blurs those boundaries. But I will because it's Hakuouki. So wish me luck

But my BIGGEST issue is that SSL is not Reimeiroku. SSL will probably be fun. But I would gladly sacrifice MANY small samples of my blood to Sannan for Reimeiroku (Shinkai!) getting translated. Holy hell do you know how desperately I want to play that fucking game. The anime is so good. I want the whole thing. The bit I've managed to play on my PSP with the help of Google Lens back when I had that kind of time only surpassed my expectations. I keep getting more and more freaked out that it's never going to happen, and SSL getting translated first makes me worry more. Or maybe it's just a good sign that they're still localizing at all? Do you guys think Reimeiroku still has a chance? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
