10 years later: We’ll come back soon, don’t worry.
The weekend had been as amazing as expected. No matter how many years had gone by, the town was still perfect at this time of the year and the community’s love for parties was still the same. Although she hadn’t gone to Bayview over the past year, Inbar had had no issues finding her way through Green Acres and stopping everytime she saw a familiar face. She was ten year older than the day she moved in but one thing hadn’t changed at all: her enthusiasm.
As the rodeo was over and as it was time for her to leave and come back home to Los Angeles, Inbar closed the door of the bedroom she had booked for the weekend at the Bluebird Bed & Breakfast, she met her now-husband in the lobby and together, they gave back the key of the room, thanked the staff for their kindness and made their way out so they could meet their taxi driver. A few minutes later, the luggage were in the trunk, Inbar and Dan were on the back seat, the driver was behind the wheel and they were ready to go.
Going through the pictures she had taken all along the weekend while they were on the road to the airport, Inbar couldn’t help her laugh and showed one to Dan. “I can’t believe you fell from the mechanical bull after like five seconds, that was terrible, babe.” Teasing him was too easy, especially when she knew she had a good reason to make some jokes. “You would have done something even worse”, he complained although a smile quickly appeared on his lips, “Next year, you’ll have to try it.” Putting down her phone, she grabbed his hand to strike the deal. “Alright, I’ll kick your butt next year by staying there for more than five seconds”, she assured.
The phone found its way back to her purse as they let themselves enjoy a few seconds of silence until Dan broke it, “It was a great weekend. We should come here more often.” A tender smile tucked at Inbar’s lips as she nestled her head against her husband’s neck and closed her eyes for a second, “We’ll come back soon, don’t worry.”

AND NOW, TEN YEARS LATER...
THE PAST
Date arrived in Bayview: She arrived on the 12th of July, 2021. Area(s) lived in: She lived in Bayside Retreats -- water has always been her happy place. Relationship history & status: Her engagement was broken, she needed a change of scenery: this is how she ended up in Bayview where she remained single. Family: What was closer to a family back in town was probably her dog, Chili and the friends she made. Career 10 years ago: Her main job was acting, although she released her debut single not long before moving to town.
THE NOW
Date left Bayview: Inbar left quite slowly. In 2023, after living in town for a couple of years, she started to split her time: six months in town, six months exploring the world when she wasn’t working. That’s only in 2026, when Los Angeles became her permanent home again, that she eventually sold her Bayview house. Past residence: She explored several countries around the world, whether it was for work or for her own pleasure. But Bayview and Los Angeles are probably the two locations she has spent the most time in. Current residence: Los Angeles! But don’t worry, she hasn’t forgotten about Bayview so everytime she can, she makes sure to come and say hello. Relationship status: Life is funny sometimes and Inbar knows it. Going back and forth to Los Angeles made her run into her ex-fiancé Dan. It would be hard to explain how things happened but it did and eventually, they reconnected. They lived together for a couple of years in Bayview but then they went back to Los Angeles hand in hand... and got engaged a second time. In 2030, they got married.
Family: Just the two of them and their dogs -- and of course, their respective families.
Current career: According to Inbar, life is all about pursuing your dreams and that’s what she has been doing, making both music and tv shows and producing documentaries, shows and movies that matter to her.
FUN STUFF:
Favorite location in Bayview: The beach. Always and forever, the ocean is Inbar’s happy place. Favorite food spot in Bayview: Christi’s crepes. The food there is way way too good. Favorite drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic!) spot in Bayview: Endzone! Drinking during a game makes it so much more exciting. Favorite event or party: The rodeo. She has always had so much fun pretending to be a cowboy for a couple of days. Best memory in Bayview: Probably that time she went camping without any power nor running water with the rest of the group. It was crazy, it was tough but there was something special about challenging herself. Favorite project involved in: She didn’t get involved in any project in town, except from the few charity galas she attended and donated money for. Favorite sport played: Probably paintball or rappelling, although it wasn’t directly in Bayview. Favorite trip taken: Montana! Being outdoors during ten full days was a blessing and so much fun.

Forget it long enough for someone to remind you that it exists… and then you’re stuck thinking about it all over again, right? It’s a never ending cycle, that’s for sure. I would definitely let someone else do it, I don’t want you to end up in a situation where you’re driven insane by a good song, after all! It really does, would you even be able to use that bathroom again…? I think I would have to sell my house and leave after that. And have someone check all future toilets for me.
Absolutely, it never ends. Which is good when it’s a song you enjoy but quite terrible when it’s an annoying track. Right?! I think it’s safer, too. Now I just have to find someone who would agree on being a guinea pig for this and that’s probably the hardest part. Never. I’m like you, I would have to leave, too. And buy a condo in some high building to make sure that I’d never ever meet a snake again.

You know what’s even better, though? When you haven’t heard a song for so long that you thought that you forgot about it… until you do hear it, and you remember every single word and note. That always makes me feel pretty proud of myself! No, definitely not, although it would be a good experiment if you could survive it. But let’s not risk that for you, alright? Alright, but I can’t blame you for that one! Because if I was sitting on my toilet and a snake came out of nowhere, I’m fairly certain that I would lose my mind! It’s better to check in there than to be caught by surprise, right?
Oooh you’re right. Not gonna lie, I would probably curse the person who has put the music on though because then, the song would be stuck in my mind again and we don’t want that to happen. Yeah so maybe I should find someone who would be willing to try instead of me. I know, right?! I would lose my mind, too. And I would probably be traumatized too cause that sounds like the beginning of a bad horror movie.

I can tell you all the best places to eat and drink like a local, and the tourist spots I recommend you avoid because they’re rubbish and you’ll be wishing you were born irish by the time you leave.
That’s exactly the kind of recommendations I want. Don’t get me wrong, I feel like some tourist spots are tourist spots for a good reason. But some others aren’t worth it and there are so many other nice things to see. So I’m all for it! Would you accept me as an honorary Irish once I’ve been there?

I think that it’s unrealistic for us always to be in a good mood or always on. We’re going to have days where we just don’t feel like being al of that or we just want to stay in. People have to respect that. I’m glad that you agree with me there. You do have to own all of it. We try and go as much as we can. I mean, last year there wasn’t nearly as much but we’ve done lots of camping this summer. I think it’s good to have a high and dry space near some water that you can enjoy during the day. Camping on the beach is especially nice. You can have the best of both worlds.
I agree. I don’t know one single person who could go through life without feeling a bit meh from time to time. Human beings need some time alone, no matter what some people might say or think. It’s nice that you get the chance to do it often, especially if it’s something you enjoy! It is. I just love waking up, opening the curtains and seeing the sea early in the morning. It’s a good way to start the day. See, that’s something I haven’t done much so I should give it another shot soon!

I hope we hear a round of applause once we jump off. I want a crowd of people around us. Oh, believe me, I won’t look it up. Don’t want to let you down. I’ll just pretend as if that 5% doesn’t exist and no one has horror stories about those things snapping off. Or pretend like there’s a soft cushion on the ground that’s going to protect me if it does snap. He doesn’t need to know that! We’ll tell him that you slept like a baby. Were you afraid that some bear was going to wake you up in the middle of the night?
Of course! I mean, that’s the least we could ask for. It’d be a nice to have a crowd of people to cheer us, though, I like that idea. Thank you! I think it is safer to pretend, yes. Everything has ever gone well with it, no accident, no death. But even with that, I’m still not up for it. Do you think he’ll believe us? Cause I’m all for lying to the guy, as bad as it may sound. I was! It’s stupid, I know. But being alone in the dark made me come up with some crazy scenario.

And you can try to sing something else, but eventually that song is going to find its way back to your head and just completely ruin your life, through and through. I thought so, too, but apparently if you hear it over and over again, not so much. Although it didn’t work, from what I understand, so maybe the people who had to listen to it also liked that song. I’m happy to hear that! But that’s exactly it, suddenly something you never would have thought of ends up being the only thing that you can think of.
It is crazy to see how some songs just get stuck in our heads and never go. It’s like magic. And all of a sudden, the song disappears till the next time someone plays it out. I was about to say that I’d try just to see how I feel about it but I’m not sure it’d be a good idea to torture myself like that. Although it’s good to know that it didn’t work as planned! Exactly. Even if sometimes, you know deep down that it can’t happen for real. Like... I saw a video once of a snake being hidden in the toilet and I know it can’t happen everywhere but sometimes, when I’m in the bathroom doing my makeup and getting ready, I can’t help thinking what if a snake suddenly comes out from the toilet and attack me?! So, you know -- crazy thoughts.

Not to be cliche, but home is both a place and a thing we carry with us. And that’s what I like to keep telling myself. Oh, perfect. You’ll have to let me know when you’re going and I can give you all of the best recommendations.
That’s not cliché, that’s true! At least I feel like it is true. I will for sure cause I feel like you’d be the best guide I could get!

It sounds like a challenge… or something on one of those reality shows that only daredevils would try. I’d love to see someone else go do it, but safely from a distance, preferably on my couch in a hoodie with a bowl of ice cream. I just don’t want it to end just yet! Although fall is going to be here soon. We do have the Getaway party and the rodeo, both of which are hella fun. I did! Thankfully I remembered to bring the bug spray! What about you?
As terrible as it sounds... that’s how I would enjoy it, too. Not that it’s actually a bad thing because we wouldn’t be forcing people to dive in with sharks, right? They would do it because they’d like to. I can’t wait for the Getaway party because I’ve been to the club several times through Summer and every time was cool. I had fun, too! It was a bit tough at night but really cool in daytime.

That’s one of the best things about our jobs, is that we can go ahead and see beautiful next places to explore. ‘A Guide to have Some Fun’ sounds like a nice catchy title! Did go on a hot air balloon, got lots of photos, it was absolutely breathtaking! Sometimes it’s nice to have those kind of rushes, it’s a natural high. Yeah had a lot of fun, and now I’ve been attempting to get in touch with nature while camping, the whole no power thing. How about you? Joining us for roasting marshmallows?
Right?! We’re lucky people. Discovering the world is literally part of our job. I know, that’s how we should call our bucket lists, now. Same, girl, same! A lot of breathtaking pictures that I showed to everybody or so. I did go camping last weekend. It was... let’s say it was quite an adventure. I love being outdoors, I absolutely loved the marshmallows and the swimming parts but nights in a tent without power were a bit rough!

Growing up is really realizing that you don’t have just one home, and home is a nebulous concept. Never been? Well, nows the time to go. You don’t want to go when it starts getting colder, but summer is stunning.
Absolutely. Home is places you’ve loved or people or the kind of comfort you can bring with you anywhere like a good book or music. You know what, if I can I’ll try to go there on September. And if I can’t, I’ll make sure to go there for next Spring or next Summer!

We’re human and we’re most definitely allowed to be human. There is nothing wrong with that. I would dare say that anyone who thinks that there is would be hideously wrong. I think that we have to make the most of our lives and enjoy the moments. It’s really do enjoy being outside. Camping is always exciting for me but I completely understand wanting to be near water. It has been a bit hot but honestly I’m okay with short spells without electricity.
Some people expect us to always be in a good mood and ready to go out and party. I guess they tend to forget that at the end of the day, we all need our bad days and time at home. I agree with you. Owning every moment is a really nice thing. Is that something you do often? Camping, I mean. The water is just my safe place, even in Winter, there’s something really soothing about the wind and the waves.

And no matter how many other songs you sing or what you try to put into your head, it’s never going to get rid of that awful sound, is it? I’m not fond of it myself. There was a song they played when they were attempting to end the Waco siege… I believe it was These Boots Are Made for Walking, they were hoping it would drive them wild enough to come out. So it’s a possibility! But not with your music. Well, I’m glad that it sounds like you didn’t end up seeing anything! I think when you’re laying there in the dark, it’s all too easy to imagine something creepy outside.
It’s terrible! Sometimes you even think that it’s gone for good but two hours later, it’s back. For real?! I like that song though, it’s a nice one but I’m not sure how I would feel if they were playing in 24/7 so it was probably a smart strategy. But I’m glad that my music wouldn’t be used for torture! No, everything went well, I had no furry visitors and I survived. It is! You’re alone with your thoughts and your imagination and it’s the perfect combo to make you think of the craziest scenario.

Those ear worms that get stuck in your head and refuse to leave, and then in a week’s time, you absolutely never, ever want to hear that song again, right? I’m fairly certain the government actually uses some songs to torture people when they need to, come to think of it. It is! You don’t really stop to think about it until you’re doing it and your phone is half dead and you have nothing to do but sit and wonder if someone’s fucking with you or there’s a coyote outside.
That’s even worse when they pop up in your head when you don’t expect it and then, refuse to get off. You know what, I think it would be a good way to torture people. I mean, not good like it’s a good thing to ever torture people but good as, it’s smart. Exactly! That’s what happened to me last night. I spent half of the night awake because I was convinced there was a beast outside. Pretty sure there was nothing and it was my mind playing games but still!

That would be fun, wouldn’t it? We could jump off the sidewalk and work our way up to the chair. Imagine the thrill. Look at us, already talking about jumping off the second floor. We’re growing. Okay, but how often do those things break? I was about to look into it, but I also don’t want to freak myself out with those numbers. Then I’ll rethink the whole skydiving situation, and we don’t want to go backwards. I’ll do my best to send you at least a dozen before I finally doze off, I promise. Either he’ll invite us on his show or he’ll envy us.
People are going to be so impressed when they see us jump off something so high. We are slowly getting to our goal, I’m proud of us. I don’t know, Chris. But something tells me that you shouldn’t check it out cause then, we’ll have it stuck in mind. Like, “What if we are part of the 5% of unfortunate people?”. Thank you very much, I appreciate the attention and the ego boost. Weeeell, I’m not sure that he is going to invite me cause I spent half of the night awake, convinced that there was some big animal running around.
