Fell in love with a new brush I made. At 100% opacity it's a nicely textured paint brush, at 88-50% it's a nice copic marker.

Trying to do more Pomodoro like art sprints as a response to something +Eric Quigley brought up this week. Speed in our craft. This was an hour long sprint of rough sketch, and a try at some more Plein Air like techniques to paint fast-and-loose color-and-value at the same time.

I could keep pushing the lines back and rendering the details if I wanted to give myself more time and make this something I think would be some comical homage to Stalenhag.

Finally got all the stuff I need to test my build my own bullet Journal concept. I ran off 10 sheets and for the rest of the week I'm going to just use them like large note cards to see if I can get used to designing on the grid. This will also let me see how well is heavier paper I got soaks up my needle pointed ink pens. It'll be good to try and be more disciplined with my time, but also have this at hand as I want to mock up pages ideas for Subversion Magazine, future Web Wireframes, Solemnia, and other comic ideas. #ObeyTheGrid #DIY #BulletJournal #prototype #paperWeight #pen #organizer

I may have figured out how to move forward with my apprehension in #BulletJournal . I currently use a $0.98 gridded comp book. A friend gave me a VERY nice $30 journal that intimidates me. In both if I mess up I don't want to have to take an exacto and slice out of page. So I'v decided to buy an A5 sized binder with plastic sheet-protectors and print and cut my own pages. This way if I do mess up the cost is incredibly low. And if I want to I can even retire the journal itself at the end of the year and journal / planner is still less than the nice $30 Journal. If I can get in the swing of things I'm planning to have one for my personal creative Endeavors and one for work. Once I figured out what I'm doing I'm going to make all the files I've made available so that others can enjoy this format. #BulletJournal #A5 #Paper #DIY #Journal #Tracker #CBT #Motivation #Planner

It's been nearly 20 years since I've sculpted anything. In that time I've grown to have a greater understanding of facial structure and proportions. For only having the tip of a mechanical pencil and fingernails as tools, I feel I did quite well. Put a couple of pony beads in for the eyes. Don't think I'll bother firing this one. Mostly it's a boost to my artistic self esteem. I do, so that I may increase my understanding. #sculpture #sculpy #anatomy #proportions #face #ethnic #sage

Progress on this. The "details" layer is hidden for now (what made Raggedy's blankets so colorful) as I haven't the time to add the swirls to the Sentry. So if he can't have details they'll just be shut off for this posting.

Progression of a character I've been working on as my Muse inspires me.

Sharing this as a mini album so you can see the progress so far. 2 sketches (one to get the concept down, another to refine the shape), Lines, and Flats/Details. I'll do the shading in the next couple of days as I get around to it.
