Some people say that you can't just fall in love with someone you just met, like that scene in Frozen when Anna met Prince Hans. But for the sake of the comic with April meeting Casey for the first time. I support.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😌😌😌

Ya know, I keep seeing people saying they think April has “fallen in love” with Casey, but I think there’s a misconception on the definition of “love” here.

At least to me, there’s a difference between “attraction” and “love.” I can be an attracted to a really handsome guy, but that doesn’t mean I love him. I’ll still blush and act flustered if he talks to me, but if I’ve never met him or even know him, then I can’t love him, only think he’s hot, which is totally different.

You can be attracted to a someone you’ e never met, and you can love someone you know and don’t think is necessarily hot. You can also love someone and also be attracted to them. And you can be neither attracted nor love them. One is a surface thing, the other is a relationship thing. Here’s a highly simplified chart to describe what I mean:

(Obviously in reality there’s a lot more angles to this like the concept of familial love vs romantic love, whether you enjoy their presence or not—a smoking hot jerk is a thing of course—and of course the mutualness of the love, but this helps to understand that they’re separate concepts)

April thinks Casey is handsome. She doesn’t know anything about him, hence she can’t love him. She has basically no knowledge of who he is, she only even talked to him for less than a minute. Therefore she’s not in love with him but attracted to him.

Sorry, I don’t mean to rant, I’m super glad you like it! I just wanted to clear up that I don’t think you can “be in love” with someone you don’t know. I don’t believe in “love at first sight,” but “mutual fondness of each’s appearance and well fitted personalities that bond quickly.” Once you know someone, then you can be in love with them.

This is the same thing that occurred with Leo when he saw and then met Karai. He wasn’t in love with her, just thought she was incredibly beautiful. Though we will fall in love with her when he gets to know her.

Alright that was incredibly confusing, hopefully that made even a shred of sense. 💀 I’m done now, I promise I’m not mad!! I just wanted to explain my POV on this and how it translates into my comics.

I just searched “Pet rat” and picked a bunch of pictures of little rats at different angles for reference to draw Splinter, this was one of them though:

I don’t know what species this little guy is, but Splinter’s coloration and general shape was more or less based on him. So, whatever species this rat is, is probably what Splinter is too.

Sorry I don’t know rat breeds, maybe someone on here can tell me what species of rat this is. 😅

No, the layouts are very different.

In addition to being different size wise, the arrangement of furniture and overall shape is pretty different too, I do see how from that angle it could seem quite similar though.

how easy/hard is it for each of the boys to sleep?

Yes I do!

Chapter 8, Drop Dead Gorgeous will center around the event you’re talking about.

Mikey falls asleep the easiest, always has.

Leo and Raph usually have a decently easy time getting to sleep, on occasion they’ll be stressed out about something, or are thinking about something too much to fall asleep, but general they’re fine.

Donnie has the most trouble; how much of that is mild insomnia versus him thinks programming on his computer and tinkering with scarps is more interesting than sleeping, though, is up for debate. If he can just get asleep he sleeps just fine, and probably the deepest of his brothers (probably cause he’s sleep deprived).

Awww Klunk is playing with Raph's mask tails, wonder if he can feel the cat tugging it?

He can. He usually ignores, which is how his mask tails got torn up in the first place, but when it gets annoying he’ll, respond.

Klunk thinks it’s funny to scratch at the bean bags and claw at Raph’s mask tails until he gets frustrated and hisses/growls at Klunk. To which Klunk then scampers away all silly cause he knows he pissed Raph off.

Lol would you believe me if I said she and her husband are still madly in love with each other 20 years after their marriage? 🤣

Irma complains a lot, but she complains about everything (I’m sure some of you have met this type of person 💀). Despite what it may seem she actually loves her husband very much.

If I may point out, notice that she’s complaining about a very small problem as though it’s a huge one. She’s complaining that her husband is persnickety about the water content of his taco beans, not that she caught him cheating or that yesterday he got mad a smacked her. When a wife’s biggest complaint about her husband is that he likes certain foods certain ways, she’s probably in a pretty happy marriage.

There’s not really any particular reason I decided to make Irma black. I actually got the design from a 90s women’s workwear sewing pattern model. I thought she was really pretty so I drew her, but my recreation gave such strong Irma vibes that I decided I actually really liked it and I ran with it 🤣

Usually they go out topside.

Either that or they wander around the subway networks and other underground tunnels under New York. Depends on their mood I think and what they’re feeling they want to do rather than be in the lair.

If you meant like if they ever sleep anywhere else when they’re bickering, then no, they still sleep in the same room, they just pretend the other doesn’t exist and sleep facing opposite directions.

He was 41 throughout the comic thus far, but yeah he’s gonna be 42 now. (He was mutated when he was 26 but turned 27 later that year)
