#rajapalayam#tamil nadu#sighthound#scenthound#there's some discussion about rajapalayam having some influence on dalmatians#you'll note that a lot of them appear to have some degree of very pale splotchy ticking#and there are issues with deafness and pale eyes within the breed as well#they're a boar hunter by origin and not a true sighthound but these things get ambigious#hound

the jonangi or kolleti jagilla is a hairless or sparsely haired breed from andhra pradesh used to herd and guard livestock (primarily ducks) and are also adept at fishing and catching vermin. like many indian breeds, they are very versatile. they are quiet and stealthy, rarely barking, and can be rather ‘one person.’ most are solid colored, preferably with prick ears. accounts on size vary, but most appear to be around 18-24 inches at the wither.
