I've just had a thought, and I apologise if this has been better articulated before now, but it struck me after seeing [this gif] of Emmrich's introduction. I don't think we ever see that skull glamour again (though it's mentioned in passing dialogue), and I just want to highlight the following.

Emmrich is in a secluded, arguably restricted section of the Necropolis when we meet him (The Shrouded Halls) which implies privacy.

The man is wearing his skull glamour which he doesn't do in any other scene, implying it's not a necessary (and thus purely aesthetic) part of his craft.

He later reveals his desire to be a Lich Lord, which is basically a glorified skeleton.

This leads me to the conclusion that the Veilguard stumble upon Emmrich Volkarin while he's cosplaying and mid-roleplay as a Lich Lord.

I love it when women tell me they just finalized their divorce. ESPECIALLY older women. The correct response is always “congratulations” and they always seem so pleasantly surprised, they just seem to light right up and talk about how happy they are, what their plans are, how well they’re doing. I’ve only ever met like 1 person who was upset to be divorced and it was a middle-aged dude. Second most exciting is young men. the infuriating thing is that there is genuinely so much good queer literature out there, contemporary and not, but there is also a sizeable chunk of readers who think that a book only "counts" as good queer literature if it's a) unproblematic, b) contains romance as its central focus, and c) has the characters state their orientation and/or gender identity directly to the audience using socially acceptable 21st-century terms (as opposed to resorting to cowardly tactics such as Subtext and Themes)

Btw Emmrich definitely has a late in life slut era after getting together with Rook. Tops with the top six buttons undone. Linen shorts with a four inch inseam. ONE earring. Necklaces that grace the collarbone and draw attention to the tits. Eyeliner. He sits prim and proper with his legs crossed until Rook walks in the room and then suddenly there's the inside of BOTH thighs. Touch me there, he thinks in their direction, and they wink at him from across the room because they KNOW. He goes commando for the first time in his LIFE when Rook takes him to some loud music venue to relive his misspent goth-punk youth. This is the same night that Rook calls him 'babygirl' in bed and he comes in the spot. They don't talk about it for a couple of weeks afterwards (Emmrich's embarrassed; Rook's giving him time) but Emmrich thinks about it CONSTANTLY.
