This is a very Soft(TM) Good Omens sideblog! I also post asexual fat-positive mostly-Soft(TM) Aziraphale/Crowley fanfic on AO3 under the same name. 42, visibly fat, ace demiromantic transmasc enby (he/him). You can call me Jack. Hello! • Feedist or other k/i//nk blogs: please don't reblog my art or writing on a blog with that kind of content. I frequently use myself as a model for both those things, and I'd rather not be coterminous with the personal times material of a complete stranger. Thank you. • I follow from ineffablemainblog. I have an About page and a page that lists my tags, but they're kind of still circa 2021. Asks will be answered anonymously or privately if you request it in your message!

#Crowley’s AirPods are black. The AirPods were surprised about this. Crowley was not.
help i love them both though

married music
I have this headcanon that when they move to the South Downs together, Crowley buys Aziraphale big over-the-ear headphones that miraculously connect to his record player so they can both listen to their own music together, separately.
#ineffablefool friend tag#hope gets their own tag#their being able to do miracles is something that can really allow Maximum Coziness and this is an excellent example#pretty music together separately with a side of supernatural convenience#love it love them

I have spent over an hour today trying to convince a coworker that when they respond to this one customer who had an escalated production issue (which I fixed for now + know how to solve for real), it will not be helpful to include instructions on how to do the opposite of what the customer was trying to do.
Customer: "the new widget doohickification functionality is working great except these two widgets won't doohickify"
[the widgets actually did doohickify just fine, but my code logic has a bug that meant you couldn't tell it from the customer-facing application -- the customer could see three other successful doohickeys but no sign of this one. I just updated the data to fix this one case, and as a true solution I need to do a code update so future doohickeys won't turn invisible anymore.]
Coworker's planned message to the customer, after I spend half an hour on the phone trying to explain the situation to them: "okay so for now we fixed the data so that the widgets created a proper doohickey, and you can do either of the following: [lists two ways to prevent doohickification]"
cannot imagine how irritating it would be to get a tech support response that's like "we restored that new feature you really wanted to use except it had accidentally disappeared for some reason. Now here are some suggested next steps which we're presenting to you as if they will help you use the feature, but actually if you follow them they'll turn the feature back off!"
#ineffablefool original post#not good omens#i finally got coworker to go back and clarify with the customer on one detail which if the answer is what I think it is#then i can probably get coworker to drop this tangent instead of confusing the poor customer who did nothing wrong except click a particular#button that i forgot to account for#oops

I basically never get spam asks, but I've now gotten two in 24 hours of that "hello friend 🌿 please give me your money 🙏I'm anonymous but linking to what is definitely my real non-scam blog ✨🍳 insert reference to unspecified 'hardships' here 😌💕🚭 hugs n kisses, Totally Notabot" format that's going around lately, so I've temporarily turned off anon asks. I'll turn them back on when I get around to it.
In a related but different vein, I have not yet set my fics login-only on AO3, because I do not currently have the energy to care about my work ending up in someone's LLM database (plus, honestly, I could do worse in life than infect datasets with my rampant fat/trans/ace positivity). However, that could change in the future. If you don't use an account to read AO3, please get one! I am really not sure of a reason to not do so other than "ugh the signup queue takes forever" but after that one waiting period of like a week and a half you're set.

Aziraphale, thirty-eighth order scrivener—at least, that's who they told him he was—wakes up from some perfectly normal memory loss to find a cryptic note written on his hand. The further he goes in his search for answers, the more questions he has. Will he ever learn why he was demoted to a desk job? Or how he'd managed to collect enough books to open a bookshop? Or why that familiar red-haired demon on Earth seems to be avoiding him?

Thank you all for the confirmation that we are not the weird ones here! And don't worry, we haven't paid for any surprise side jobs from neighbors. (The one exception is where a branch from the old silver maple had previously fallen onto the vinyl fence of one of the neighbors we only share a brief bit of property line with in the backyard. That fence now looks like something took a big cartoon bite out of the top, and t e c h n i c a l l y the way Wisconsin tree law works, we were not in any way legally liable, but when the arborist went and talked to the guy about how he wanted the fallen limb dealt with, he just asked them if they could turn it into firewood and leave it with him, and we were fine with paying for that in the interests of neighborhood harmony. We have literally never interacted with that guy and honestly don't know whether he's home or not 90% of the time. This is our favorite kind of neighbor.)
This is a question for I guess mostly homeowners in the USA, although I'm not against hearing from others.
Every single time we get contractors out here to work on stuff outside, one or both of our nearest neighbors will stop them to ask them to do "while you're out here" type work for free/cheap. And like... is that normal? Do people just hijack each other's contractors all the time and I was unaware?
Specific examples here:
A storm rips a big branch almost entirely off our tree, so we hire an arborist to get it down safely and haul it out: Neighbor on that side stops the workers to ask them for extra trimming on our trees along her property line. (They don't do it.)
Arborist is here again on our dime doing a long list of agreed-upon tree removal/trimming work: Same neighbor asks for the same extra trimming on our trees (and gets it this time, I think not for free but it might have been). Other neighbor asks them to remove all the branches on our lovely mature oak (which she hates bc it drops sticks on her yard) up to like 30 feet above ground (and gets it for free).
Fencing guy out here on our dime putting up a backyard fence: Other neighbor (the one who hates our oak) stops him in the middle of drilling post holes and asks to have some shrubs dug out (I'm pretty sure they're not asking about the one shrub that is right on the side line and therefore legally half ours but I guess we'll find out?) with the Bobcat for a hundred bucks.
I feel like this is super rude behavior and housemate says it's parasitic but is it actually normal and we've just been unaware of this cultural phenomenon until now?

He lived! He lost the three-way race for two board seats, because the other two are the protege of the main guy and then another member of the current power structure up for re-election, and the member of the current power structure who controlled 70% of the available votes proxied her votes to the main guy, and then the main guy cast the entire pool of his votes + her votes in a totally fair way such that the end results were 165 to 164 to 52. But housemate lived and as far as he can tell received every vote that wasn't pre-rigged to go to a crony. Which is pretty cool I think!
Please send some good vibes to housemate, who has been battling against our even-more-corrupt-and-dysfunctional-than-the-norm homeowner's association (basically it's been a big pocketbook for a couple of board members since around the turn of the century) for a couple of years now, and is planning to go to the annual meeting tonight and insist on certain Irregularities being explained to the assembled members. The main guy running the show already had a personal beef with housemate even before housemate started uncovering things like the decades of unpaid taxes and the illegal giving away of communal land, so we're really not sure what's going to happen! At least this meeting the police presence won't be a surprise.
#not good omens#the main guy had told another member of the resistance that he was planning on turning the meeting into a housemate-dragging session#but he did not actually do that#which i think honestly disappointed housemate a little because he loves when his enemies embarrass themselves in public

This handmade Good Omens/Terry Pratchett themed music box is now up for auction! It’s for a charity event raising money for trans rights in the UK and South Africa! Check out all the amazing items on offer!
It’s custom designed and handmade out of wood/sculpted parts. It features the Good Omens bench in St James park, with a nightingale and Sir Terry’s hat keeping watch. Press the button and it plays a music box rendition of a Nightingale Sang in Barkley Square, but can be programmed to play just about anything including the Good Omens theme. The music box recharges through a port in the back (cable included).
#this goes till may 2 and by that time it's gonna be WAY out of my range#but boost#(this is the year we spend enough money to buy a new car on a backyard fence#so the neighbors can only destroy/literally physically remove with their rake and dump into the street#only our smaller front yard gardens#which means I can't just throw hundreds of dollars at a work of art and run off with it cackling in delight)#(and yes by literally i mean we had photos not that the cops cared because she's just a sweet ol lady who got confused 🫠)#but never mind that#this is gorgeous

Today, Aziraphale felt uncharacteristically tired. Crowley noticed almost immediately and forced his angel onto the couch, under a blanket, and into his arms for a nap and some soothing curl caresses. Aziraphale felt very loved.
#perfect#oh to have your very own demon who knows when you need to Rest and Be Loved for a bit#(i mean I'd go with a human in my case but the important parts of my sentiment remain unchanged)#(nothing against demons it's just that I'm p sure you guys don't exist and also mortal/immortal pairings are too sad)
