Question about your pirate au, what caused for sonic to disband from shadows crew?

while I can't exactly much details on it yet (since I'm still throwing around ideas in my head), my working concept for now is that sonic became reckless during one of their voyages to seek out the emeralds, risking everybody on the ship which resulted shadow cutting him off from the crew.

the "betrayal" that occurs between shadow and infinite isn't toooo serious (it's mostly through infinite's perspective) something about infinite wanting to be the hero and then shadow robbing him of that opportunity
