The main and secondary cast of Nexus: Ogreslayer.

The world of Nexus is a world full of stories from the ancient past of magic to the modern age all the way to the far flung future.

This will focus on the first generation of heroes.

Johnson Purgatorio Cardinal.

Species: Human.

Age: 17→19 

Sexuality: straight

Weapon: Gante. a great sword styled after a Saber.

Elemental alignment: Fire.

History: Johnson was born as the middle child in his family. He is the second heir to Arma Corp, the largest weapons manufacturing company in America. After his mothers death to an ogre beast attack (which also traumatized him) and a falling out with his father and brother, Johnson strikes out on his own in highway city NY. As Well as hoping to find his sister. He joins the hunter foundation to allow himself a stable living, due to him refusing to use the millions of money in his bank account that came from his family. He will awaken to the elemental merged with his soul, salamandra, and he will one day fight for his home alongside his friends… after he learns to quit being a back talking delinquent that hates those he sees as “cocky shitbags”

Xander Kabuki Oakgreen.

Species: Human Kitsune hybrid.

Age: 18→20

Sexuality: Bisexual.

Weapon: Mizune. A gunto type sword with a green coloring.

Elemental alignment: Water.

History: Xander is.. an ordinary boy, his heritage is due to his mother, a kitsune from the ocean, meeting his father who was a mask maker, his parents fell in love and thus conceived him. He joins the ranks of the hunter foundation due to his desire to simply live his life to the fullest. He has fully accepted who he is as a person and holds an air of confidence. He becomes fast friends with Johnson and helps him on his way to understanding himself.. albeit also teasing the poor kid.  Even when his heritage is revealed to him in his adulthood, he knows who he is and he feels no need to be any different.

Lucius Magnus Blackwell.

Species: Demon.

Age: unknown, however he is theoretically in his early 20s.

Sexuality: straight.

Weapons: Thors and raijin. Twin silver axes that he can recall using his selective magnetism.

Elemental alignment: hell lightning.

History: lucius is the Prince of hell, and the next sin of pride with his little sister being the next sin of sloth. Lucius holds his father's ambition but holds none of his cruelty and vitriol. Lucius seeks to change hell, turn it from a place of torment to a place that helps lead to atonement. So he, his mother Lilith, the current sin of sloth, his sister Blossom, and a few other demons plan a coup. But it changes when the seven deadly sins agree to release the apocalypse upon mankind on new years eve. So he and his sister flee to the surface world to tell the hunter foundation about the attack, they do this via a rune that would be carved into Lucius’s back, granting him the power of Godspeed, allowing him to control lightning and even turn into it to reach high speeds, and if fast enough cross realms. He at first is caught off guard by how friendly Xander and Johnson are but they soon become a trio and consider themselves brothers later on.

Jay Atlas Cobalt.

Species: Human.

Age: 19→21

Sexuality: gay.

Weapon: a backpack that has the ability of either partially or fully transforming into a large robot that Jay can pilot which he dubs “mini atlas”.

Elemental alignment: none. 

History: Jay is an oddball, he holds no personal uniqueness or trauma, instead he is simply a creative person, he is an inventor, tinkering with machinery as he finds technology a lot easier than humans. Jay however has a close bond with Xander, once teammates and eventually past lovers before becoming friends. Jay, while rather friendly on the surface, finds it difficult to converse with others. He feels as if he is different, both due to his sexual orientation and his tendency to be blunt if a little rude. He feels safety with his machines and consistently refers to them as his “babies”. However Xander always convinces him to hangout with the group. While he is an unofficial member all four consider each other fast friends.

Lance Paradiso Cardinal.

Species: human

Age: 20→22

Sexuality: straight (though some mistake him for being asexual)

Weapon: Aergil. A large scythe that was given to him by the embodiment of death.

Elemental alignment: death, soul flames and shadows.

History: Lance is Johnson's older brother and death’s vassal or his apprentice. Lance after his mothers death, and seeing his father shutting down, knew he had to try and keep his family together. Lance had his mother's heart and her love for her family. After Johnson and their sister Jennifer left, Lance made sure to help his father with grieving over his wife's death, as Lance became the CEO of Arma Corp. However he would wind up meeting death, as the force of nature tried to soothe a child's soul after they had passed. Lance never understood how but regardless he decided to assist eventually death would choose him as his vassal, bearing his power and ultimately mark him as a successor. Lance gained access to a portion of death's powers, even gaining access to his hunting hounds Skol, Hati, and Fenrir, he treats them as dogs despite them being death’s hunting hounds, he even asks fenrir to lend him his strength when Lance needs it. Now he arrives at highway city to convince his brother and his sister later on into mending their family. However Johnson Is stubborn and refuses to even speak to their father. However Lance is determined to heal his family. For that is the creed of the oldest child in his eyes.

Before we mention the secondary cast it is crucial we mention one (and one other) entity that is extremely important.

Salamandra, the sun dragon.

Species: elemental embodiment of fire.

Age: N/A

Sexuality: N/A (due to elementals having no specific gender and only assume traits of genders)

Weapon: Gante (due to him being merged with Johnson down to the soul, he is able to use Gante and even merge with it.)

Elemental alignment: Fire.

History: Salamandra is a primordial being, embodying the sun. He was sealed into a mage as he is now bound to the cardinal bloodline and theoretically all members of the Cardinal family can awaken to him but only those with a passion and a rage can wake him from his slumber. He now finds himself bound to Johnsons very soul as he helps guide and aid the boy, the two start off as purely associates but wind up being able to work and fight in tandem, representing the union of fire and man.

Now onto the secondary cast.

Jennifer Inferno Cardinal.

Species: human

Age: 15→17

Sexuality: Lesbian 

(she is also a functional hermaphrodite)

Elemental alignment: none.

Weapon: Deatrice. An O-dachi that she leaves unsheathed, however she does have a cover over the spine of the blade that she can simply pull off.

History: the youngest child of the three cardinal siblings. Jenifer was only an infant when her mother died so she was unable to understand the loss, but she could feel it through the aftermath as her father who tried to be there for her was shutting down after the loss of his wife. Eventually she couldn't even say her father was even recognizable as the man who should have raised her. Aware of her family fracturing, she decided to leave. She was the first and so far she has been doing alright, though she worries for her brothers.

Alexander Dio Cardinal. 

Species: human

Age: 45→47 (he however looks rather appealing despite his age).

Sexuality: straight.

Elemental alignment: None.

Weapon: Cherubim. A broadsword Alexander forged himself. While he has never fought he has it as a way to remember his past and his brother.

History: Alexander, the original CEO of Arma Corp, and the father of the cardinal siblings. Alexander is a man of principles and integrity. However after the loss of his wife Nora Cardinal and the death of his brother Grimm Cardinal, Alexander.. shut down, however seeing his family shattering before him he has decided to use his own hands, the same hands that forged weapons and the same hands to hold his wife, he used them to reforge his family. Despite all of his loss, he wishes to ensure his children are not forlorn and believe their father never once loved them. Alexander needed to ensure his family would not be lost to him.

Frost Vit Sai.

Species: human.

Age: 17→19

Sexuality: Bisexual

Elemental alignment: Ice (via falnix, the artic Phoenix) 

Weapon: Glaciärbrytare. A hammer able to be coated in ice to deal both heavy blunt force damage but also varying levels of cold damage. 

History: Frost was born to Oliver and Crystal Sai. A Royal family who live in the Arctic, said to be descendants of a Nordic tribe founded in Sweden. She is technically next in line for the throne after her father's passing. With her mother already being dead by the time she meets Johnson and his friends. Unbeknownst to Johnson and Frost, their fathers seemed to have held a rivalry. To the point it even seemed after Johnson's mothers passing, Frost's own mother sent Alexander letters to help him grieve. Regardless when her and Johnson meet they start off as simply friends.. However fate has a very different route in mind for them.

Kira Jäger Prince

Species: human.

Age: 18→20

Sexuality: straight 

Elemental alignment: Stone

Weapon: N/A (uses boxing techniques and and kickboxing) 

History: Frost’s cousin after Frost's Uncle settled down to have his own family. Kira's life has been branded in struggle. From a family member doing something that.. he never should have done. All the way to having to be placed in boarding school as a manner to keep her safe from her family. Her relationship with frost is much more like siblings with Kira acting like the older sister wanting desperately to protect Frost so that way she does not have to struggle as much as she did when she was young. Her fate is tied with Xander's own as these two surprisingly create the perfect pair as at the start of the story they are already together. 

Cherry Espora N’moore

Species: human (mutated)

Age: 19 (has not aged after experimentation)

Sexuality: Bisexual

Elemental alignment: Pink Rot (due to experimentation.)

Weapon: N/A (does not fight but instead uses her powers to dispatch foes)

History: a poor girl who had the misfortune of being abducted from her home in Puerto Rico and sold to a mad scientist. The monster in human flesh that was the scientist mutated her, cutting her and experimenting on her until she died. All to be the vessel for his new creation. “The pink rot”. A chemical pulled from the depths of nature made of many fungi and parasitic plants. He injected it into her corpse. But almost immediately the rot did Something. It seemed to resonate with the girl. Reviving her body and even her mind. She was reborn, on the dissecting board of the monster. She almost instinctively killed him by melting him using her new powers. Once she did.. she ran, ran far away back to her family. Only to find her sister has passed and her parents.. gone. As she soon discovered, her father and mother sold her this hurt the girl to her core. Eventually she would leave for America before meeting.. Kira, the two became fast friends, with Cherry and Kira eventually getting together. Only to break it off as Kira despite how much she cared for cherry couldn't feel the same way cherry felt towards her. They are still close friends, as her, Kira and Frost all soon become a trio, until eventually Cherry discovers she has a brother. Living in highway City, she decided to contact him and after a bit she and now Kira and Frost (though frost was not a fan of it) moved to highway City. Plus Kira now had a long distance boyfriend- who she totally didn't meet on tinder- she wanted to see. Cherry's fate soon intertwines with Lucius as the two soon become kindred Spirits in a sense, looking past what makes them “other” and finding love with one another. 

Fallnix, the Arctic Phoenix

Species: elemental embodiment of ice 

Age: N/A

Sexuality: N/A (again elementals don't have a biological sex)

Elemental alignment: Ice

Weapon: Glaciärbrytare. (Due to her connection with Frost)

History: the embodiment of ice, and Salamandra’s sworn rival. She was attached to Frost's family since their inception, representing the head of the family and the true heir of the kingdom. She is like a surrogate mother to Frost, she guides her and advises her, paying close attention to her, unlike her prior partner.. Oliver, Frost's Father. All she wants is to be there for frost and make sure she is finally allowed to be happy. And when Frost and Johnson cross paths, Fallnix and Salamandra meet once again, and while they fight as they had done, they will soon complete each other, like the moon and sun always do.

Mushi, the fungi plushie

Species: pink rot construct

Elemental alignment: Pink Rot

History: a construct formed by Cherry when she first started to understand her powers while in hiding. When she was extremely alone she molded mushi from her own pink rot and other fungus, she made Mushi in the shape of her brother but also made him a second form that looked closer to a teddy bear. Mushi can be described as quite frankly, a giant teddy bear, always supporting cherry and being there for her. He is fiercely loyal to Cherry and Cherry alone. For a teddy bear will always be there for their beloved friend.

Blossom Opus Blackwell

Species: demon

Age: unknown, however she appears to be around 16

Sexuality: Lesbian

Elemental alignment: wind (specifically Nimbus clouds)

Weapon: nimble, a long black and orange staff with the runes for her ability to summon her nimbus clouds.

History: Blossom is the future sin of sloth and Lucius’s little sister. She is the golden child of the Blackwell family in hell. However this stems from her connection to dreams and nimbus clouds or more accurately dubbed “dream clouds”. She can call upon these clouds for both combat and transportation. Being able to encase her opponent's head in a cloud that traps them in a dream.. whether it be the foe's nightmare or daydream is completely up to Blossom. However despite Blossom being a prodigy, she feels no desire to be legendary. Instead all she simply wants is to be comfortable and be able to hangout with her big brother.. and maybe get together with the sister of one of her brother's friends. As Blossom would put it, she is a simple demon seeking simple happiness.

Rilla Beatrice Greybur

Species: human

Age: 18→20

Sexuality: Bisexual 

Elemental alignment: None

Weapon: N/A

History: Rilla is an ordinary woman. Born to a normal family in California, her mother taught her the simple lesson that would later have her fate intertwine with Johnson. That lesson being “acts of kindness will always end in a satisfying repayment. Be kind to others and they will return that kindness ten fold”. This lesson would come into play after meeting Johnson, the two connecting almost instantly as Rilla and Johnson seemed to be the perfect balance. Until they broke things off, however it was amicable. Eventually she finds her happiness with her fiance, Aqua. With Johnson eventually attending her wedding in the near future.

Coco Dulce N’moore.

Species: human

Age: 18→20

Sexuality: Gay

Elemental alignment: N/A

Weapon: A pole arm named Fullbloom 

History: Cherry's little brother. Growing up he and his sister were extremely close, but Coco eventually tried to push Cherry away as he felt embarrassed. However the moment Cherry vanished filled Coco with remorse, being told his big sister had died he began to feel as if he took her for granted. With Coco eventually isolating himself from everyone around him, before he would later move to highway City to start a new life. The moment he found out about Cherry being alive he was filled with joy as he swore to himself that he would never let his sister vanish from him again. Coco became more protective of Cherry, but yet he still was distant from everyone else. Until his path intersects with Jay, as the two hit it off the bat immediately, at first becoming best friends before they grew closer.. and fell in love.

Walker Ley Strym

Species: deity

Age: 25→28 (she's lying, she's 10,025→10,028 she just looks young) 

Sexuality: pansexual

Elemental alignment: Deific energy.

Weapon: N/A (she's a lawyer, not a fighter.)

History: Cici's “sister” (this will later be revealed not to be the case) and a lawyer for Deific society. She first arrives in this world as an offer by the deity who controled this world, as a way to “unwind”. She was very doubtful at first, finding the world to be in an annoying and uncontrollable state. So she decided that before she leaves she might as well see how the people are like. With her first encounter being Lance of all people. The two have some friction when they first meet as to Walker, Lance was rather uptight (this is ironic considering how she acts) however when she finally managed to hear him talk about his family and how much they mean to him, she began to like him a little. He was still overly serious but Walker started to understand why. Eventually the two would get closer, and closer as an attraction began to stir. At first it was from Lance as he viewed Walker as extremely desirable, primarily in her personality. However he felt like he should not pursue these feelings. But eventually when Walker feels that desire herself she is rather.. direct as she tells him straight out. Walker is by all accounts a woman of bluntness, saying what's on her mind and doing what she feels is right, with Lance being there to be supportive, the two will eventually complete each other…. She also basically turns Lance into a male wife once they have kids as she is extremely.

Lysander “Lynx” Luckett

Elemental alignment: fire and beasts.

Weapon: Lævateinn. A short sword naturally in tune with flames, it's true owner is Loki though he has gifted Lynx his blade as a “boon”

History: a young man and one of Johnson's old friends along with another man that Johnson considers his soul brother. Lynx lost his mother to a freak house fire, he, his father, and his sister were extremely burned, Lynx going blind in his left eye due to the flames and the smoke. This event also led to Lynx meeting his “patron”. Loki, he heard Lynx's cries during the house fire as he listened through the flames. Loki took interest, less because he found something admirable in the boy and more due to boredom. He granted Lynx two of Loki's abilities, though these gifts were very limited. The first was shape shifting allowing him to transform into beasts though only beasts that weren't extinct. Lynx was also given- due to Loki's twisted sense of humor- pyrokinesis. He can conjure fire from his burns as well as manipulate his own and the other flames around him. Lynx first discovered his shapeshifting powers early. Being unable to control them he was bullied constantly but that was before he met Johnson who saw him as he was. The two would become fast friends and become part of a trio along with another friend. The three would eventually part ways, with lynx starting to try and understand himself, with him later meeting his now current boyfriend Evan. But now Lynx has decided to move to highway City, completely unaware Johnson is there, but when the two cross paths again.. it'll certainly be something.

Nora Eve Cardinal

History: Alexanders late wife and the mother of the cardinal children. She was a woman taught Lance to care for his family as well as helping him grow emotionally. She had a deep care for Johnson, seeing much of her husband in her son, wishing to teach him kindness and humility. However the one person she cared for just as much as her children was her husband, helping calm him when he was in his moments of doubt and frustration. Despite her death she left an impact on all of her family, and if she could see them from up in the afterlife, she would feel remorse for all her children and her husband.

Galaxisis Nexus, the hope of the earth.

History: the perfect fusion of Johnson, Xander, and Lucius. This being is both of the divine and the mechanical as it is a combination of the mechs made by Jay for the trio. His very presence is both humbling, awe-inspiring, and hopeful. He may appear draconic but he is born of the will of mankind. The will to create and live. He is the stars that twinkle in space, the raging sun that burns so bright it rivals the big bangs very shine, he is the light of humanity, He is the cosmos. He is Galaxisis. Imma keep it a buck, yeah I get where you're coming from. Most of this I agree with, if not all, because reality is that the law ain't the correct option nowadays.

There will always be people who have done atrocious things and they deserve to get wiped off the face of the earth (nobody ain't ever hearing me say the Nazis were misunderstood. Fuck genocide.) my problem lies when it came down to how your argument was propped.

But that's outside the current topic back to the fun part- the no kill rule definitely ain't perfect, even I gotta admit that, and it's especially obvious when it is characters like Batman (the joker needs to kick the bucket, no matter how long you think about it, he is a monster, he won't stop. Even in elseworlds the joker still comes back and still causes problems, just look at Batman white knight) but it's still something I believe is important.

Taking a life is still taking a life so it needs to be taken into consideration. Because if one person starts killing with no consideration from the populace, that can be a slippery slope to go down without restraint. (Can't exactly comment on mha because I don't watch it nor do I feel like watching it, apologies)

That's why I still say no one is above the law, and I also include the ones in charge because to me the public is the law, if the government can't decide then it is up to the people, it's not one man's decision, no one gets to play judge jury and executioner just because they can.

Do I think the no kill rule is questionable? In certain cases yes, but in other cases no.

I know this probably sounds like a nothing burger and I apologize for that. Saying it's a L take when it's just stating an opinion is a pretty dumb thing to do if not be completely insensitive to the fact it is still something to consider instead of just insulting.

This part I agree with, most of this I agree with actually Im just taking issue with the fact you are resorting to an opinion that is in no way harmful to the view of the show, it's just that someone believed there could have been more characterization (WHICH IS GOOD! Because that means they actually looked at the scene and thought about instead of just turning off their brain and only watching it, because otherwise they get nothing out of watching it. Aka it's not somebody subscribing to the "the curtains were fucking blue" idea)

You don't gotta act like a jackass about it, they weren't being rude they just had an idea. How'd you feel if you sent a confession that was an idea you had and everybody decided to shit on it instead of actually engaging with it and discussing it, they might not agree with it but it still would be better if they discussed it so that way they have time to think about it.

I don't see anything wrong with it, some people just want to see more characterization where they believe is possible.

It's not an obsession it's just somebody wanting to see more of what they want.
