I’m not sure what art program you’re using, but can’t you draw a couple eyes in a blank canvas and turn it into a repeating pattern brush for the comic page?

im using paint tool sai 2 (lol) but in my experience, with these kind of deliberately stylized pages where the audience doesn't have a lot to "cling" to, nothing beats the impact of individual drawings. it maintains a level of chaos that keeps the page interesting and forces to me sincerely consider the choices im making while drawing.

im not opposed to copy-pasting (do it a lot) or brushes as patterns but sometimes the page calls for a specific level of effort that i then want to grouse about lol

One of the new additions to the build is flagging especially hard enemies. Currently, enemies 1 tier above the current dungeon tier have a 2% chance to spawn. This can mix up the battles to keep players on their toes, and give especially strategic players the chance to earn equipment, and a possible ally, one tier higher than what they'd usually have access to!

However, during playtesting, I got absoutely wrecked by a single monster and I had no idea it was a strong one because I didn't have the chance to scan it. On the suggestion of a friend, if I had big flashing warning symbols on it, I would have been more careful and run away or played more defensively. And so now I do!

It was easy enough to make it yellow, since all sprites are drawn as white to begin with and then a colour blend is added to it in game. The warning symbol is new, but uses the same code as the HP and recruitment UI text, but with an image instead!

I truly, TRULY do not know how to say this, because the fact that I have to say it makes me feel like I am losing my grip on reality. But no, in the post-capitalistic anarchist utopia, I will not be relying on “autistic minecraft girlies” to be building inspectors because - and this may shock you - one of those occupations takes years of education in how to read and interpret hundreds of thousands of lines of regulations based on complicated math and physics that were the result of decades of tragedy and death, and the other one involves playing a children’s video game.

Part of what makes Tumblr so deliciously insane is that consistently, every Tumblr community is structured like this:

At the top, you have the S-tier posters. Like, two or three savant-level PHD freaks people who are genuine experts in their field.

At the bottom, you have the rabble. The people who are interested in reading posts about their hobby or current interest.

But in between, you have a gaggle of two-dozen people who have like 20% of a clue, but they're very opinionated, and they've learned how to mimic the S-Tier posters tone of voice and vocabulary.

Wildfire Hardpoint

A reverse twist on the shield unit, summoned after the main body has reached less than 50% HP and the shield unit has been destroyed. I kept the same basic shape but loaded its insides with explosives, to give the impression of both desperation to protect the train, and an overwhelming sense of firepower. It mainly uses AoE moves.
