it can be argued that the definition of arrogance is the overextension of confidence, wherein one places unfounded faith in a skill which they do not possess. that is to say, for a man who had spent the entirety of his adulthood rotting within the claustrophobic chamber of four concrete walls, takjae is awfully trusting in his ability to get away with entertaining his criminal impulses. picture this: harsh lighting splashes across the overpopulated dance floor. in a discreet corner painted wholly in midnight is a scene featuring his left palm tapping obnoxiously against the bouncer’s bearded cheek, as condescending slurs trip along the expanse of his forked tongue. such is the pride of man, that one would forget the professionalism that is expected of them in their place of work, for the scene erupts quickly into a dangerous brawl made complete by the high-pitched screams of onlookers and the sound of shattered glasses of drinks unpaid.

so here the night ends, with large men forcefully escorting takjae to inha’s office by the crook of his arms. if he were not as drunk, arrogance bids him to think that perhaps, he could easily shrug their iron grip from his biceps and promptly escape. but that would be beside the point, would it not? for there is a specific reason why he had picked to visit this club, to steal these drinks, to enrage these bouncers: all this to see her, the woman whose porcelain neck he would give anything to wrap his callous fingers around, to caress, to behold, to drain the life out of. and here she stands now, in front of him, pristine and comfortably dressed in a manner that had once incited the most vulgar complaints from pink lips whose taste, for the life of him, he cannot recall.

all it takes is one look from her feline eyes for him to sober up. so here he stands, snatching muscular limbs from the hands of her security personnel in an effort to regain composure. see here, the image of foolishness, of arrogance for ever thinking that he could stand in front of her and remain completely unbothered by the shape of her. he knows little what to do with his hands, knows little of whether to kiss or kill her altogether. instead, he beckons his voice to rise from his throat.

“do i know you?” the manner he says this in is altogether deliberate, condescending, absent of the teasing, affectionate tone that had once accompanied his conversations shared with her. should there ever exist the feeling of guilt in his heart, he is quick to squash it. this inha doesn’t deserve his smile; she doesn’t deserve anything from him. not anymore. not ever.

hello hello! name’s lynn, and here’s your resident hellcat daredevil with a devil-may-care attitude, takjae! fun fact: he’s fresh out of prison, so this is gonna be Fun. under the cut is more on my boy takjae, if you’re curious!! if you’d like to plot, feel free to LIKE this post for a phresh dm :~) he’s got affiliations with both kings and hellcats, so there’s room to plot with everyone! can’t wait to meet everyone and get this mess of a show on the road!! xx

some history:

in terms of family, it’s just him and his mom. dad died from a heart condition when he was in his tweens, but he’s always had a good relationship w his old man. in fact, papa ok taught him how to handle a steering wheel ( heavily chastised by mama ok, but the old man wanted to reach as many milestones w his son as possible before he passed )

you could say he felt almost connected to his late dad through driving, and he really found his passion in it!! ended up being a bit of an adrenaline junkie/daredevil ( racing fast car go vroom vroom 8~) )

became a street racer for kings a little before his 16th bday, but he’s only been involved in a few races with kings before The Incident ( he showed a lot of promise for a 15 y/o )

The Incident basically describes a harmless, nondescript street race ft. some rat tipping the popo >:~( what was once an innocent lil race turned into a full on car chase, and a few pedestrians maaay have been hurt in the process

he’s one of the few racers who were caught, and because of his young age and the stolen car he was driving ( also him being just a tad bit tipsy so lets add underage drinking to the mix 8~) ), he’s basically fucked ( mom was hella pissed and distraught ofc sorry mama :~( )

kings offered him protection in juvie and prison ( if it came to it ) in exchange for him keeping his mouth shut on who the other racers were, so when the popo offered a lighter sentence in exchange for names, my man takjae zipped his damn mouth and threw away the key

so picture a scrawny ass boy who’s way in over his head, going to juvie w his head held high cause he thinks he’s protected :~) wrong. no protection sir bc takjae is so Weak in terms of strength, he has nothing to offer to the other kings members locked up in juvie w him

after being beaten up and treated as the underdog, he’s close to begging the warden to give him a do-over in exchange for names, but Some Random approaches him and tells him that he’s a kings racer so he Must be good at racing ( reputation of being a kings racer is better than his actual skill tbh, he’s a great racer but he’s no racer!beyonce ja feel ), and they also admire how he refused to give out names, so they try to convince him to switch over to this new gang called hellcats ( needless to say it didn’t take much convincing )

was transferred to a full prison on his 18th bday and he rolled w the hellcats there, but by this time he’s kinda Big so it’s all g homies

he’s 22 now ( turning 23 in 6 days! ) and his early bday gift is getting out of jail! needless to say, he’s rolling w the hellcats now and he’s about to use all the skills he’s learnt as a kings racer to be Petty and take revenge cause fuck them for ditching him after he was loyal tf!! my man spent 6 years in jail for them when he could’ve gotten away w like 4 and some community service!! :~( he’s also picked up underground fighting cause he’s Big now and he wants to punch some kings members >:~( )

some fun facts:

i’ve alluded to him not being the fastest street racer on the block by any measure, but his racing style is more reckless in the way he cuts other racers off etc, so racing w him is more a battle of wits and an assessment of how much your subconscious/instinct values life

he’s all about that petty crime, going to gangnam to steal cars, finessing people xo adrenaline junkie ftw

he only love his mama!! he used to kinda sorta love some inha chick but that’s not happening no more cause she’s a snake alexa play thank you, next

he's a typical sagittarius ;~) think selfish, does what he wants and peer pressures everyone else to do what he wants to do, don’t catch feels cause it may seem like he’s looking @ u w love in his eyes, but that’s just all the adrenaline talking my friend

tbh my boy was born loyal but he’s been burnt before so now he’s cautious abt who he trusts, and he’s learnt to just live for himself and his mama

has a tattoo sleeve on the left arm w god knows how many tattoos :~) it crawls up all the way to his neck, also spans the majority of his upper back yum
