Stahl just seems like such a perfect father for Owain, in my opinion.

Not only does Owain look pretty good with the greenish brown hair color, but personality wise, it really fits.

Owain has an extraordinarily obvious case of wanting to be special, how he’s always going on about his “sword hand” or his “aching blood” or the “burning blood of heroes in his veins” or whatever when, aside from his royal status and his combat abilities, he’s not really any special guy chosen by destiny. He’s normal. Average, even, which is why it makes sense for Stahl, the most consistently average member of the Shepherds, to be his father.

One of Stahl’s best supports in terms of slightly random but still interesting character development (instead of in terms of believable romance because I never actually got to S) is with Miriel. C-A consists of Miriel studying Stahl, perplexed by how consistently he hits the middle ground in any activity. He’s not exceptionally fast nor exceptionally slow, he’s not exceptionally strong nor exceptionally weak and his stat growths mirror this, most of them hovering in the 50-65% range with the exceptions in the exceptionally high HP growth (sitting at 95%, one of the highest in the game) and exceptionally low Mag and Res (10% and 15% respectively, but this makes sense considering he’s a Cavalier) [the above stats only cover his base class]

With such an average, normal father and a mother with some traces of some sort of feelings of inferiority (i.e. her supports with Chrom about holding up in comparison to her older siblings, being self-conscious about her lack of a Brand, etc) it’s no surprise that Owain would be desperate to feel like he’s more than average, especially considering both of his cousins are capable of wielding Falchion, one of them is a born leader, and the other is (potentially, depending on your preferred ship for Chrom) a tactical genius. If you were surrounded by people who were that obviously gifted and you come from a family of people who either aren’t anything special or don’t think they’re special, you’d probably be pretty desperate not to be average as well.

2025 will be the year of Awakening Trio summer (<- stupid)

the thing that gets me about the awakening kids is that they grew up as prey. they were not the apex predators in their world. they had to fight and claw their way to survival at every given moment. they’re not hunters, they’re survivors; never once were they the predators in their world, and that has honed them so sharp that nobody even realizes it. so what if severa’s reaction to being startled is to draw her sword? so what if laurent keeps his back pressed against the wall whenever possible? so what if inigo’s hearing is so sharp he can hear footsteps from hundreds of feet away? they survived, and they’re good fighters; during the war, it only helps them. it doesn’t matter.

but what about after? when the risen are eradicated once and for all, when the wars are finished, when the fight comes to a close? now, owain falling silent when a door creaks two floors down is annoying. now, kjelle’s ability to switch focus right into fighting is scary, not helpful. they’re humans; they’re the best fighters ylisse and everywhere else has to offer. they’re the apex predators.

Ykw I’m always asking for more Inigo content in FEH (and that will never change) but I should honestly count my blessings cuz comparatively to the other Awakening kids he just has more. 3 Awakening units, his Fates unit, compared to Owain & Selena who only have 2 Awakening/1 Fates, all other Awakening kids (except Lucina ofc) having 1-3 (Yarne) units, etc.

That being said I’m still praying for Awakening Trio summer 🙏

a few days ago I drew this outfit swap for Soleil (FE) & my Soleil, bc I named my Soleil after Soleil (FE) back in 2021 when I was first getting into D&D and was freshly into Fire Emblem LOL. I was gonna color this and finish it, but instead of doing that I completely redesigned my Soleil’s outfit, so this lineart is a bit mute now. Thought you guys might wanna see a Soleil (FE) scrap at least!!!
