Hello, I am writing this post because I have found myself a new obsession after IPPKND. Which is ek duje ke Vaste season 1 (2016). This show was unique and similar to IPPKND in many ways. I hope any1 interested to know more about the show finds my post. So we can discuss, because honestly I don't know how else I should get over my obsession over ek duje ke vaaste.

Again u r competing accurate JWB, but I just wanted to add a bit. I tend to not see actors personal lives or their opinions because I love the character they r playing, and they r the characters face. Hence, earlier it would make me sad they r nothing like the character because we do forget to distinguish between reality and imagination. I had once saw a clip of Barun and Sanaya were gul ask how did u guys look so smitten, made for each other on screen, whereas in real when we see u its nothing like that and Barun said acting. I think they haven't been to attached to the show it was a place of work for them where they made friends. Barun came to the show with a deadline which was a year, whereas Sanya said that how she was criticized during the auditions and first few episodes. They thank IPK for the fame, work and

A lovely story. Its a milestone for them. It's like how we have to go to school we make friends, memories but when asked wanna do it again it's like no. They r actors and they r only actors, acting opportunity came to them.

Whereas when we see cast of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai they all have been stage actors, writers, some have knew learnt acting from drama school, have great knowledge about the craft eg Maya ( Ratna ma'am) and Indu( Satish sir) have been directors aswell. The cast was experienced. Whereas Ipk was the first huge success came to these actors. They were in my pov were like k now we can be more big this happened grt but not that grt. Like Sanya has always silently showed she wanted to do flims(mainstream), Barun got flims(&given a choice they both at that stage would want big name on flims not TV).

On the other hand Arjun Bijlani is very passionate about work and is proud to be a TV star same with Jennifer Winget she has proudly said she is a TV girl.

That's y as JWB mentioned when asked how there characters would be they r not able to analyze nicely because acting was a fluke for them which they enjoyed and then became a way to earn money.

Shahrukh khan is the biggest example of a TV star who became Badshah of flim industry. He did what was offered to him, he loved it so he learnt it from whatever way possible that's y he did movies like Darr, Bazigar which others rejected and now has a production house which makes web series like Bard of blood, movies like Darlings, dear zindagi. Most importantly no work for him was ever small. That's y he is attached to characters.

Whereas Barun and Sanaya are just actors who read their lines do their work and done. Which is not wrong but in my pov there is a passion missing. Like khushi became a challenge for Sanya like she said 1 person questioned her acting and she was like I will show them I am good. There is a challenge not some passion. They treat acting like a job in which they want to experiment with roles, have a comfort to stop when they want to. Which is fine, and most of us r like this eg when we want be good at school we have to go to classes attend lecture, do extracurricular it's like that we do it because we have to be a good student to be successful not because of passion.

Omg it's too long, I will stop my rant now.

I apologize if any 1 felt I have been unfair to the leads I love them its just my opinion, from what I have seen from their interviews and interactions.

hey there! my name is nura from canada and im very happy to have come across your blog! i used to casually watch ipkknd with my mom when it first aired more than 10 yrs ago but i didn't remember anything besides the leads so now im watching it all over again and im HOOKED. im glad that there is a fandom for the show, i would've hated feeling so alone in my love for this show.

i was going thru your posts and i noticed in one recent ask you had answered smth along the lines of the general disinterest of the cast for the show and i think their unwillingness to do anything more with the show. can you pls elaborate a little on this as i have no idea what this show was like behind the scenes. i apologize in advance in case i am misinterpreting your answer!

I am so glad you're enjoying watching IPKKND!!! Fandom makes things memorable for everyone :) I've met some of my closest friends due to this show and it's so exciting to chat up about everything you liked about it!!!

Oh don't worry, the cast is actually the best friends off screen. Barun (Arnav), Sanaya (Khushi) and I think Akshay (Akash) even live in the same building! And they all (which includes Daljeet [Anjali], Abhaas [Shyam] and the writer Gautam) often keep hanging out with each other and going on trips together!

The show was also amazing off screen, you'd roll off your bed laughing at their chaotic behind the screen interviews.

Interviewer asks about why Khushi wants to leave post Arnav telling her she's the biggest mistake of his life scene:

Sanaya: Oh nothing, you see my husband has some gas issues.

Barun (yawning and laughing): Haan I have gas.

Sanaya: Exactly, so I need to take a break from this.

LOL.

But yeah Barun himself quit the show (thank God) because he (accurately) didn't see where the show was going and why he needed to be a part of it. Also the cast in general, especially the leads aren't invested in simply seeing IPK again on screen. Which, understandable. A lot of writing and effort went into making IPK in the first place - to simply see it again as a cash grab (which they did with Ek Jashn) doesn't seem like reason enough. Also Sanaya and Barun have made it very very clear that they really aren't into daily soaps and would much prefer to be in limited series and they're both beyond what IPK is.

Barun has consciously chosen characters that are non romantic in nature to shed off the 'romance' projects. Which is a bit of a shame because few people sell romance the way he does! Sanaya is chilling. Lol she always is.

It's nothing bad, it's just that naturally they're probably not as attached to the show as much as the fans are because tbh, how famous or a classic IPK is was understood some time after the show ended as opposed to when it ran.

It's not like they don't like the show - of course they do granted that it put a few of them on the map, it was a different show and they found great friends out of it - but there actually doesn't seem to be any active engagement regarding the show.

Some examples of when you can see the cast being devoted to their shows like their fans would include the cast of Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai (there was a cute insta reel a few months ago of all of them singing the title song of the show) or Arjun Bijlani from Miley Jab Hum Tum - dude genuinely loves his show so much that when he's clean shaven he posts on Insta that it's #Mayank (which was his character's name).

And it's not a bad thing, it's just that the actors aren't invested in the show they did ten years ago - which happens. In several interviews Barun has little comments on Arnav, he has more of a critical analysis why IPK was different and the writing of the show (he's more inclined to writing in general). And Sanaya also has very little to say about Khushi apart from it being similar to her so she had fun playing it. I think in the recent most interviews where they had questions regarding 'what would their character do' currently or were asked to behave like their characters - they were both a little lost on what to do and had nothing apart from a few funny comments.

Which, again, isn't a bad thing at all.

In fact it probably tells what a big role the writer and director play in fleshing out these characters! Gautam Hegde (the writer) still waxes some of the most beautiful lines about IPKKND.

And if anything the Rewind showed that Barun gets ASR only if there's a purpose to it. And Sanaya can switch into Khushi when she's performing somewhere.

It can feel a bit bittersweet for a fan because a show means so much for a viewing experience. So I won't say that the cast is 'unwilling' - I'd say they're reluctant.

And that's different.

I don't think Barun and Sanaya would ever reprise Arnav and Khushi beyond an hour of shooting if there wasn't anything meaningful to it.

So keeping all this in mind I'm very happy not seeing IPK on screen because current Indian television landscape is terrible and if there's no actual purpose to bringing IPK on screen then what?

It'll just be a Season 3 of Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Rise Bhi or Season 2 of Pratigya!

And canonically Arnav and Khushi got their happily ever after and I'd love it to remain that way.

Hum tum ek kamre main band ho!(Arshi episode)

I was recently re-watching season 2 episode 1, what I felt is Arnav secretly deep down enjoyed the moment whereas khushi was in shock.

U just unable to get over this secene, Firstly they both reach for a glass of water, but she backs off so technically because of manners u offer the water first to the person who backs off(especially when u have to apologize to them) then get the glass for yourself and then drink.

Here, he not only doesn't offer her water 1st but drinks it and offers her the same glass he drank from eventhough there tons of new 1s🤣. No wonder y khushi didn't expect him to pull a chair for her when they went discuss about payal &Akash. She just doesn't except him to be a gentleman before her.😆

Pls however reads this let me know what they would if they were in Arnav's position and what's your opinion about this secene. Thank u.

When little ant(khushi) took down the mighty egoistic elephant(ASR)

I was re-watching the office track, because 1 I don't have a life and it's my escape mechanism.

What I saw is Arnav is a elephant in the office, every1 talks about him, stares at him, makes way for him, he is at the top, just like elephants. Even though 🐘 r not the king of jungle they r status is very high.

On the other hand in the office Khushi is an ant. Every wants her out, stamp on her self esteem, create hurdles for her and just like an 🐜 she faces her hurdles and achieves her goals and is comfortable when have her family and friends are arround(her colony).

We all know khushi is not that significant employee to AR designs that she would get so much attention of o so great ASR yet she does. Like La mentioned to Asr that y r u so concerned about a small employee".

Hence, for ASR her value is exactly like a 🐜, he doesn't care. But when Khushi is in his vicinity, he is completely shooked. Just like if the 🐜 is on the ground 🐘 can easily stamp on it and it's the end or the 🐜. But if Ant climbs on 🐘 body the only thing on his mind is the ant, and getting it out. Which is exactly what the situation is. Eg the footage leak of the sheesh mahal,not in his vicinity where as now she is in his office and bit in his house and every where he goes and he is shook.

We can clearly see how the elephant is getting defated from an 🐜. Our lovely 🐜 (kushi) is doing her work diligently.

Arnav's rishta (Nani's plan to get him settled)

Nani in ipk is 1 mature character. She handels house hold and also understands what Arnav needs. She is aware her grandson is stuck in the past, is losing himself, refusing life to make him smile. On the other hand she is also some1 who intrudes his privacy, wants to take decisions of Arnav lifes with out talking to him peacefully, understanding what he really needs. Biggest example of this her getting a rishta for Arnav that too of vidya, it's like she doesn't know him.

From that 1 shot on Vidya we all know that poor girl will not be able to be with Arnav. I can literally imagine her physically breaking when hearing Arnav shout the way he does.

Look at them. This is the same secene. Honestly, this a pair won't be able to survive even a week, like they r worst pair. What was Nani thinking saying Arnav won't be able to find a better wife then her.

This clearly shows how much Nani wants Arnav to bend to society's and her will, rather than asking him real questions. Like hey I am old I don't understand this living in, bf gf, tell me chote what is in your heart, for once let go. Do only 1 thing that your heart wants, this month or a year, and tell me what u feel. I hope this is how Nani dealt with Arnav with same love and pampering like she does with Anjali.

Underrated scene

This is so good, he is peacefully working at his laptop and thne khushi comes in super mad, is like answer me. In my opinion for second he is shocked, confused, little worried and tinsy bit scared. Again I am not saying husband's should scared of their wives or he is scared husband. It's just his face for second is like how a child did something wrong smartly but don't accept its wrong and gets shocked when they r questioned(oh no got caught) and act all innocent. That's his face according to me. Before he is what the.

Husband knows he is in trouble

I wanted to give a habit of khushi, bit of attention on how Arnav might hopefully know she is mad or he is in trouble, when she calls him Mr Raizada or Mr Arnav singh Raizada. This starts from the farm 🏠 collapse she says " Nahi Mr Arnav singh Raizada, then during new year " Ap galat jagh, galat ⏳️pe puchon ho Mr Raizada. She is very nervous during this scene.

One of my favorite scenes when she shuts his laptop, questions and challenges him when the kheer is burned. In her mind she says " Humein bhi jawahb chaiye joh hum Arnav singh Raizada se lekar rehnge", then to him" hum apse darne nahi wale Mr Raizada" Its a glimpse of the resignation epi khushi, its a shame her this side isn't used. Later this comes up too, sometimes. For instances when in real easte office he says come home and she is like. " nahi Mr Raizada itni takleef mat outhai".

I don't mean to say Arnav is scared of his wife or something. I hope husbands don't want their wives to get mad at them for obvious reasons. Hopefully when he hears her say this he knows he is in trouble.

Iss Pyar ko kya naam doon: Writers and decline during end

We are all aware that this show was very well written compared many shows that came later or at that time. No show of this genre has come close to ippknd. The reason behind this is their writers Mr Ved Raj and Sudhir Kumar. We see a decline in writing after contract marriage but characters are still true their personality.

During dadi track there might be some issue with the writers and maybe that is y some episodes in start of the track r written by the creative team and then Mr Jainesh.

After the dadi track is over the episodes r written by Mr Vedraj and Shaesvath bhardwaj. Mr Sudhir Kumar one of the original writers of ippknd, did not return. Maybe that's the reason y khushi is out of character as the new writer wouldn't know the layers and depth khushi has to her character and assumed it's just chreepy, bubbly, immature character and Arnav a smart, independent, mature character. It can be that Sudhir Kumar was the 1 how developed the character khushi. Any 1 reading this please look the red lines that come after the disclaimer, on the show u will see the proof. Arnav's unspoken hurt.

I had a thought after reading thus which is Arnav always tried to explain to khushi that he isn't that bad. This starts from the guest house incident. He is constantly trying to explain himself. This continues

1) This happens is when gets to know that she doesn't want see him, in my pov I think more than ego he is hurt, from her this demand. For example when he saw her 🙏 to devi that she doesn't want see his face, he walks away but turns back. In my pov maybe it was hurt, and longing.

2) Next time he gets hurt when khushi tells she hates him 'nafart karte hain hum apse, koi apko pyar kare ap uske layk hi nahi'. No matter what he does love her and doesn't want her to go through those things, he has so much inner trauma right now. On top of that , khushi the only women he loved says the above. 1 way he wants to love cherish and clear up things on ther hand he sees no hope for any of those things.

3) When after med mixup after holi, she blames him for doing the mixup, he tries to say 'bina soche smajhe' when she is talking we can see how hurt he is from the thought that she can think so badly about him ( which he made he think due to his behavior).

4) When khushi is leaving after kidnapping and he mentions contract. Her words ' ap wahi rahenge ek shaitan' hurts him so much. He desperately wants her to understand each and every emotion in his body, love, longing, trauma, anger. He is so tried form all this. In my pov he just wants to go back to the things they were during payash wedding. Where everything was lovely between the. He wants to shout I am not that bad like a monster, please understand me, free me form a this, just dont go. But he can't.

Thank u, I am sure I missed a lot but this what his hurt is understood by me. My man constantly trying to tell the love of his life, he loves her and all this is facade but can't .

Like ASR is always running to save his Sanka Devi right from the rain in car park scene but there's an earnestness to how he tracks/saves/helps/watches Khushi during Teej because he's DESPERATE to prove to her that he's not the Rakshas she painted him as during her resignation speech. like he can't SAY it properly because he's a man of action, not words. not to mention, she (deservedly) denies him the chance to defend himself but even if she had given him that chance I'm pretty sure he'd have tanked it lol

but he nevertheless NEEDs to show her, he needs her to know it, that he's not heartless, he's not cruel, he didn't knowingly send her to the guest house but he did with full knowledge of all dangers go in there to save her life.

he's almost childish in his outrage at Khushi's Rakshas opinion of him when he's BEEN doing one thing after another to deserve it and he fully knows that. but that only irritates him further when she actually believes everything he projects which is hilarious.

and then gets pretty heart breaking later when it happens with her honestly believing he's capable of breaking up Payash. Khushi believing that threat is the entire basis on which ASRs masterplan hinges but it hurts Arnav SO MUCH that she could actually believe that about him.

Like I said. Hilarious. Heart breaking.

Arnav appreciation Post

I just wanted to appreciate Arnav a bit cause, I have been criticizing him. I wanted to say he is a well rounded man.

Going through somuch in during teens, then creating a empire is not easy task, at the same time a basketball player. He has been good at everything.

He is a guy who I envy, hate, admire and dream of, because I so want to be like that guy,good studies, successful, take care of my family like he does.

He was a good boyfriend aswell to some extent, not the way I want my bf to be. For example he is honest to La, he is with her because he likes her, she is not just pretty trophy high society gf. He is so dedicated to everything that's important. Not a male chauvinistic pig, stays in his boundaries with others only exception to this was khushi. Later on we see him going above and beyond for khushi. For instances he becomes a server(waiter) for her, knowledge about rituals, he gifts khushi a project during Mrs India track, he knew he said a lot but Internally he beliefs she can do anything. A small example to this when Nk says khushi ji app tu kuch bhi kar sakti hain, he says kar sakti hai par karti nahi.

That's the reasons we girls r crazy about him, no matter how much practical we want to be, we want a guy who is true to us, cares about our opinions, is loyal, respects our family and looks at us with eyes filled with admiration and love.

Hello, I was just going through JWB's blog because y not, she is amazing, a ippknd wizard.

I just wanted to say, maybe Arnav loves her attention and also demands for it is because, maybe he didn't get genuine attention from people apart from his Di and mom. Like in childhood we see he was a boy who didn't like showing love act and would hurt his sister a little bit like bursting her ballon, was extremely protective of his mother he says this plant hurt u, therefore I will hurt it. He was mischievous child sticking cucumber on janamashtmi and his glue prank with Akash.

Because he lost his mother his di was suffering too, he forgot what it's like to have genuine attention. Like Nani loves him but is behind him to make right decisions as she doesn't want him to get lost in the world of success and Mami who loves arnav is mostly busy with her own world. Than to check on him and ask is he fine.

He has yes sir people arround him and he is aware of that, People listen to him because he is powerful man, he is their boss ASR,and r scared of him, hence not true to him.

Whereas khushi on other hand eventhough scared would challenge him, show him the mirror. Being true she didn't care who he was, his bank balance. Even La is intial days is like ASR is always right, and is scared to tell him what bothers her and of his anger. Hence let's him be.

Hence, maybe he has been craving for true attention, from some1 who will love him, care for him, challenge him, scold him and most importantly be his completely. He gets that in Khushi in her troubles and work we see Khushi giving him full attention. Eg in the pic above, she is saying there is so much to do, but still us paying attention to him, doing things for him without him even asking. Maybe that's y he is a bit demanding husband as he as always craved for that attention.

Yes Arnav is a bit more demanding with attention once he's comfortable asking it. Khushi will never say she wants his attention given that she's been raised to be quiet, timid and never bother one who loves her.

We see Arnav like that throughout the show. During sangeet (Akash and Payal's) Arnav literally wants to spend his whole time with her. In fact during the whole wedding he wants to spend time with her. He is happy when her eyes are on her or when he makes her laugh.

Post all the misunderstanding he literally has to drag her to their room so he can show all the gifts he bought for her. He sulks when a private dinner is cancelled and Khushi needs to mollify him.

The best part of their remarriage is that Arnav gets to see Khushi all the time and demand that she spends her time with him as well. Haldi and Mehendi was just that. But also in the most adorable way possible.

If he walks into a room with Khushi, he'll most likely walk up to her, take her hand and be like "hi, spend time with me."

Even post marriage Arnav expected Khushi to give him her time and attention as birthday gifts. What hurts him isn't that she hasn't planned anything for him. It's that his otherwise attentive wife ignores him.

He lights up when Khushi literally plans a special breakfast of pancakes and fruit for no reason and enjoys the 101 tales of Khushi.

I think he loves the way Khushi is attentive to him. It's not because she wants him to agree with her. Her giving attention is a way of showing her love. It probably makes him feel very warm that she expresses love by making someone feel special. It's almost like he's the center of her universe and it probably fills him up with love. When Khushi shares her day with him, it also comes with her soaking up his exhaustion. In the barest words, he doesn't feel alone.

He even writes it in his love letter to her, being in love with her has very little to do with her beautiful eyes and their racing hearts. It somehow diminishes every distance between them and removes all traces of loneliness. With her his nightmares, fears and abandonment have come to a rest. At last.
