All good things must come to an end. We at Ink Brick have poured our hearts into the journal series since we first had the idea for it in 2013. Since then we’ve published over 800 pages of original comics poetry by more than 100 creators. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished, but as our energies are pulled in various directions by career changes, professional opportunities, and growing families, it’s time to put the series on hiatus.
I can tell you that we’re going out with a bang—INK BRICK no. 10 is 136 full-color pages of original work by some of the most exciting practitioners of comics poetry working today.

Thank You
We did it, everyone! There are a few hours left in our campaign—so still time to check it out if you haven’t yet. But we’re past our initial target and our stretch goal, and we’re gonna let the ol’ promo machine cool down.
We’ve said this before, but it’s been so beautifully affirming to see folks rally around Ink Brick and take ownership of it’s future. Running a press is hard work, but our community make it more than worth it. We couldn’t do it without you, and your help on this campaign mean we can do more for both our readers and our contributors.
Thank you so much for walking this path with us. We’re going to finish up these awesome books, and then get to work on the next ones!

STRETCH GOAL DETAILS
Just $120 from our stretch goal with < 24 hours to go!
In the final update to our campaign page, we posted some details on America 2020, our stretch-goal mini. Here they are:
Tumblr media
Partnering with our friends at Beehive Books and 4PANEL, we'll put together a collaborative mini-comic in the spirit of Allen Ginsberg's poem "America." Each contributor will get four panels on one page to directly address America, reflecting on where the country is right now, where it's been, where it could be, what it means. In sequence, the diverse viewpoints and emotional registers of these pieces will come together to create a single new poem, composed by many voices.
The book will be printed at A5 dimensions (5.8" x 8.3") in black-and-white. To give you a sense of how a page would be laid out:
Tumblr media
We've already got a fantastic group of creators on board, and we're approaching more right now. Here's a list of everyone signed on right now:
Gregory Benton | Alyssa Berg | Anthony Cudahy | Molly Brooks | Warren Craghead | Erin Curry | Maëlle Dolieveux | John Hankiewicz | Keren Katz | Mark Laliberte | Tom Motley | L. Nichols | Cameron Nicholson | Josh O'Neill | Alexander Rothman | Kenan Rubenstein | Jess Ruliffson | Anuj Shrestha | Alexey Sokolin | Bishakh Som | Bianca Stone | Andrea Tsurumi | Andrew White | Sophia Wiedeman
We're super excited about this project, and there's one day left to make it happen! Let's do it.

Reminder: if you’ve pledged enough to qualify for multiple reward tiers, just shoot us a note asking for the additional one(s). We’ll make the adjustment without you having to change tiers.
And if we make our stretch goal, you’ll automatically receive the America 2020 mini if you’ve pledged over $20!

AMERICA 2020 | STRETCH GOAL
We hit our fundraising goal on Kickstarter and we’re in the mood to make some comics! Our campaign runs until Wednesday, March 1, at 2pm EST. If we raise $12,000 by then, we’ll partner with our friends at Beehive Books and 4PANEL to publish a collaborative comics-poetry mini called America 2020. A bunch of fantastic creators will give us a four-panel page each, in the spirit of Allen Ginsberg’s “America.”
Written in direct address to America, these pieces will reflect on where the country is, where it has been, where it could be, what the idea of it means.
Everyone who’s pledged $20 or more will automatically get a copy of the mini, no need to actively claim it.
Here’s a list of who’s on board so far:
Gregory Benton | Alyssa Berg | Molly Brooks | Warren Craghead | Erin Curry | Maëlle Dolieveux | John Hankiewicz | Keren Katz | Mark Laliberte | L. Nichols | Cameron Nicholson | Josh O'Neill | Alexander Rothman | Kenan Rubenstein | Jess Ruliffson | Anuj Shrestha | Alexey Sokolin | Bishakh Som | Andrea Tsurumi | Andrew White
More are coming, and we’ll update the list as folks confirm.
Words can’t express our gratitude to everyone for stepping up to support the press. Let’s keep going until Wednesday, and hopefully get another great project out of this!
