Wizard’s Soul

A Manga about a card game that seemingly the entire world is engulfed in, must be Yu-gi-oh. Nope its Wizard’s Soul a Manga about a girl named Manaka who works at a card shop for a card game that she isn’t really fond of finds herself having to play to win. Imagine Yu-gi-oh if the main characters didn’t care much for the game and played really cruel decks just to win against the Meta oh also imagine if the anime had a Meta. And seeing her just tear people apart is quite entertaining.

 Manaka Ichinose a sweet Middle School girl who works part time at a card shop. One day her hand is forced and the trap card is activated forcing her to tap all her mana and play Wizard’s Soul to win. Her mind set becomes calculating and rather cruel and ruthless playing a deck that most people would hate to go up against. And she is full on savage to achieve her win-con

Where the Manga truly shines for me is with its side characters that get a bit of back story usually when their turn to duel Manaka comes up, but there as been splashes of it for several outside of it. Each of them as a past or a quirk about them that makes them enjoyable to read that is reflected either in their deck or their actions.  The bits with Kobayashi remind me in a way of the events between Shark and IV in Zexal due to her trying to pull one over on Manaka. 

The Love Interest after all its a Romance and I personally find him to be quite a good person while at first he is conflicted he supports her and accepts just how good she is.

Overall I say give this manga a read the characters are expressive and the way the game is presented in relation to them is rather enjoyable. 

As for the actual game its a lot like MTG though point values are more lke Yugioh and there are some mechanics not in either. If it was I could see myself spending some money on it though it be competing for my money with other card games.

Kawaii Joushi o Komasaretai

A cute little manga I’ve been reading its only 6 chapters long so far but I am in love with it thus far, about a 31 year old woman who gets flustered by a young co-worker of her’s. I love how Megumi reacts to Aoki and what he says and does. Its defiantly worth checking out if you’re into romances and slice of lives. Truth is it is worth checking out even if you are not.

Komori-san Chapter 29

Komori-san Ki Wa Kotowarenai - Chapter 29.

Love is in the air with confessions, Shuri sees the boy she likes walking with another girl and her first responce is to be in a stunned state for the following day.

A rather simple chapter as per usual that is actually quite telling, and not about Shuri but Masako. When Megumi tells Shuri to confess Masako out burst saying that such a thing wouldn’t happen. Obviously because she is in love wtih Shuri, no not really but she is afraid that if Shuri would get a boyfriend and begin dating that she would be left alone, since she and Megumi are not as close as she and Shuri. It also shows that she is a lot more like her sister.

Komori-san Wa Kotowarenai Chapter 28

Have you ever gotten sick and had to stay home from school, have you ever been the one who has to manage to get the class work to the sick classmates? Well that is what this chapter is all about.

  the chapter is very simple with Komori going to each person house and getting them their HW while also engaging in small talk with them.

  Nothing really new with the characters which is nice sometimes to just see people interacting with each other.

Let’s take her to the Lab.

Suugaku Girl - Godel Chapter 7

 Suugaky Girl -Godel no Fukanzensei Teiri: Chapter 7: Choclate Verifier

There is a metaphor in here somewhere.

The chapter’s focus is Valentines day. In which the girls are getting the boys chocolate. I am sure they will remind him of his multiplication tables in a month.

The chapter also continues the focus on the Formal systems introduced in the last chapter. In this chapter Miruka uses natural numbers in replace of the some symbols. ¬ becomes 3, ( becomes 5 A becomes 17, and ) becomes 9.

through this the Narrator begins to become less dense about the feelings of the girls around him. The love portions of this manga to me are the weakest the harem feels a bit forced at times. While the maths is more interesting.

A bit late... But no biggy

In Chapter 27 Shuri enters a contest to make a mascot. Going through several designs. Getting her friends to help too.

First off is Megumi who comes up with two designs. Both are for puns about dark and bright.

An artist is often the most critical of her work.

Masako also comes up with her own designs....

In the end they decide to just go with one none of them put in. Overall the chapter was nice and I feel its to get the up coming anime a mascot.

Jashin-Chan Chapter 25

Jashin-chan Drop Kick Chapter 25: Strawberry Hunting

A simple chapter where they go out Strawberry hunting, Pekora fights with herself about accepting help from demons and witches.

A rather simple chapter to me Pekora was the focus of this chapter while Medusa, Jashin, and Yurine all do stuff there isn’t that conflict for them.

Pekora’s house was burned down, obviously its because she is playing with Demons (no its likely just bad luck) but I do wonder if other Angels will come in soon to stir up some trouble since she is powerless right now.

Komori-san Chapter 26

Komori-san wa Kotowarenai Chapter 26: Negishi-san Wa Ugokenai part 3

Plot twist the flash back was not over! The flash back is of one of the first times Masako went out with her friends Shuri and Megumi. Buying a present for her sister’s birthday

Meet the birthday girl; Masako’s cynical older sister. her character is solidified this chapter as one of the tops in the manga she while caring for her sister loves to see her tormented and as the best faces in this manga yet.

I wonder Dad-sensei I wonder. Maybe it was a wife... hmmm

the friendship is shown to have brought up the mood of Masako quite considerably which latter is shown to have brought the confidence she needed to become things like class rep.

Masako admits that she dislikes her sister’s personality but is thankful to her for forcing her to get friends. This is a plot point that I know will be focused on sometime down the line.

 I don;t see the flash back continuing on for another chapter we seen the 3 phases of Masako and friends.  1. searching 2. Confirming 3. Shopping

 Why are evil faces so much fun. Indeed the best side character to date.

Fushi no Ryouken Chapter 21

Fushi no Ryouken Chapter 21: The goose 3

 The story picks up with the police force after they have turned in snow white to the undo. They are a bit upset that it had to be done but they are informed that they will be able to interview snow white.

back with the escape artist goose is listening to a plan by Facet she is bored and is well nodding off listening to the plan, Rin barges in and puts forth a plan of her own which Goose loves since it is bold. Which pisses off Facet who is taught a lesson by Goose about life.

This chapter is setting up for Rin to leave the escape artist due to conflicting interest as she has grown to understand the possibility hat they are in the wrong after all its been confirmed that the mortals come from another world.

 It also sets up Goose to become an antagonist though I don’t know for how long nor who will take her out, it can be a number of people.

The chapter was alright overall it builds on somethings and makes me really appreciate Goose’s personality.

Your tears the taste so good yummy yummy.

 but seriously now Goose is all kinds of messed up.

Shinozaki-San Chapter 25

Shinozaki-san Ki o Ota Shika ni! Chapter 25: Don’t become an Otaku Shiinamachi!

Having fallen in love with Akina from last chapter Shiinamachi looks to get closer to her

Learning from her sister that Akina is an otaku she endulges herself in manga and anime namely doujin and shounen-ai and yaoi ones with help of her mentor Usuba Nanae a regular at the Maiden’s Road. Forcing herself at first she gets use to it and is willing to do it all for her admiration of Shinozaki Akina.

The chapter focuses on well Shiinamachi Koto and her working towards gaining enough anime knowldge to talk with Akina, Her character is very similar yet very contrasted with Akina. Those who read the manga know that Akina originally only began watching anime and playing games to talk with Kaeda. While she has enjoyed the anime and games she had in her mind the goal of conforming Kaeda to being a “normal girl”. This of course has been reduced over time as she got to know more about Kaeda, Micchy, and even her own brother as well as Otaku in general, though it still is likely in the back of her head right now. Shiinamachi is differnt in that regard she is trying to conform herself to fit what she sees Akina as. This of course being an Otaku. The contrast between them is quite intresting and I hope it is explored more as the manga goes on.

The chapter also helps add development to another character Usuba Nanae

she acts as Koto’s mentor in thsi chapter introducing her to various doujin and the concept of boy on boy love. SHe is very confident in what she says and beliefs that she is pushing Koto on the right path. She is helpful in what Koto is trying to do and even encourages her. Always eager to help an otaku in training. She speaks words oh so true

There is no truth more true than these words.

As she continues her training Koto gains the ability to create instant love stories between males. She’s gained a very powerful ability will she be able to control it or will she go down the path of no return for any girl

let’s change it from a delusion to reality.

Hana to Alice

The manga has come to an end with chapter 12 I’ll begin with saying you should read this manga. Alice is a likable main character who seeks the answers to a mystery. Also there is an animated movie so watch that too. The rest of this post contain spoilers.

A girl that wasn’t sure where she should begin, her story comes to an end in this final chapter.

She learned of a case about a boy named Yuda who was killed in the past. She happened to be sitting in his seat in school, and living in his old home. All this she learned from an odd girl named Muu who is pretty freaking awesome

The gullible new girl who just moved in and the girl who for some reason controls a cult like group,

Seeking answers she found a girl named Hana. A shut in under the curse. To help her she must find the truth behind the murder of Yuda.

She ends up meeting the 4 wife of Yuda and stuff happens they are all pretty interesting for what we see about them. And the answer is found in chapter 11, we come to the conclusion and have things cleaned up

The final chapter was a nice wrap up chapter we see the ending the fate of the characters and how one girl managed to find the answers the others were unable to. Alice grew from a gullible girl to one of conviction and willing to help a friend.

It was a great read one I recommend.

Sekaioni Chapter 88

Sekaioni Chapter 88: Episode 79 Rewrite

The sin and burden of the parents on the children.

We learn more about the Cherise devil’s plans and how their current motives were not always their goals but instead how it was born from a grudge against their own people who began to see them as the enemy. Much of this was pushed on the current generation that we see in the manga however it is clear that not all hold the grudge the same way and are internally debating what is the best outcome possible and for them.

The Cheshire devils continue to try and get Azuma to come with them for the final night and have her kill the 6th world devil. The King himself, she however doesn’t care and refuses she and Seki try to get away but unable too. Still refusing to go with them due to Azuma’s mum being her next sub tank. However that changes as what I feel is sort of a cop-out occurs but it will be a very harsh move to make her do nonetheless.

I suspect the fight with the King to start at the tail end of the next chapter and will likely have all the anomalies and several other Alice’s much of whom are likely to die.

Komori-san Chapter 25

Komori-san wa Kotowarenai Chapter 25: Negishi-san Wa Ugokenai part 2

Beware of the waving arm’s of the older sister... Horror genre confirmed.

The chapter begins where the last one left off more or less. She is trying to make sure that Komori-san is her friend. Her sister ends up pestering her a bit more and ultimently her friendship is confirmed with Komori when Komori declairs that they are friend’s after some small talk. Which by proxy adds Megumi to her friend’s list

friendship can be a tricky thing sometimes you are not sure at first.

next chapter should continue on with the actual storyline. It was nice to learn about Masoko. I predict another shorty will be the next flash back.

Tomo-chan Onnanoko

Since the chapter’s are a just a page each and come out pretty much Daily I feel it will be better to do a collection. The premise is about a girl who really likes this guy but he sees her as another one of the dudes.

He does very much care for her, though as a friend and perhaps more. both of them are lovable.

best girl in the manga. She is the driving force and just love’s to see reactions.

She is also the scariest... Still a good friend looking out for Aizawa

Teppuu Chapter 31

Teppuu Chapter 31: Douche Bag Girl

 Magical girl idol squad here to save the day with love and music...

The final match between Natsudo and Yuzuko. After the flash back chapter’s focused on what makes Yuzuko that weird girl who keeps on going at it even when she cannot win. We see just how much she pisses off Natsudo who remarks with how much she hates her with in a monologue.  

 The fighting is as usual very well corographed with each of the movements and character’s bodys being experinced in a manner that seems natural and makes sense.

But seriously that cover can we please get a spin off. Or at least them trying to take on Idol Master and Prepure at the same time.

Sekaioni Chapter 87

Sekaioni Chapter 87 episode 78: Under Dark

The last night nears with Asuma unwilling to take part because of who her sub tank has become. The Chesire devils seek to get them to fight for the last night but their refusal sparks a fight between Seki and the only Chesire devil with a combat ability.

Its nice to know that the Cheshire devils did have someone within their own group that could fight as opposed to 100% having to rely on the Alices for combat.

I’ll be honest while I would say personally the sake of the world out weighs an individual it is a lot to be asking an 8 year old girl... Like seriously now people.

I have a feeling that the night will be brought to them by the King.

Komori-san Chapter 24

Komori-san wa Kotowarenai Chapter 24: Negishi-san Wa Ugokenai

A flash back chapter of Negishi Masako we learn how she, Shuri and Megumi became friends.

The chapter focuses on one of Shuri’s friends Masako. Who had a hard time talking to others before meeting Shuri even being able to talk with her mostly due to people just Naturally asking Komori for favors such as being able to share her text book in class.

I am interested in learning more about her older sister. She is one of the more interesting side characters so far. Coming off the last chapter with Masako’s confession this chapter is one of the more heavy on the emotional side yet.  A chapter about self discovery.
