After UN Guterres Leaves $15M Mansion Empty He Claimed He Cannot Sell It But Boutros Said Through UNA USA Cy Pres Fraud Ab Initio
By Matthew Russell Lee, Exclusive, CJRLetter PFTracker
UNITED NATIONS GATE, June 8 – Before Inner City Press was roughed up by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres' Security on June 22 and July 3, 2018 and banned since then, it insistently asked for disclosure of how many of Guterres' publicly funded trips took him through his real home, Lisbon. The questions are not been answered by Spokesman Stephane Dujarric, who on 2 November 2018 simply bicycled away as Inner City Press asked about Guterres' failure in Cameroon and attempt to get even Park East Synagogue to oust Inner City Press from covering his October 31 speech about tolerance.
On Saturday 27 April 2019 with Guterres still on his way back from two craven speeches in China praising the Belt and Road Initiative through which UN briber CEFC China Energy tried to buy the Partex oil company from the Gulbenkian Foundation which made undisclosed payments to Guterres, in front of the $15 million mansion where Guterres lives when in New York, alone with servants, there was a luxury car, see below.
On 4 June 2019, Guterres as if joking about his own corruption told the Fifth Committee, in which he made a shameful deal with then chair Cameroon to stay silent on mass killing for a few procedural favors, claimed he did "ask if I could sell the residence. I am not joking. It is a true story. I discovered that I couldn’t, because the residence can only be sold to the United States of America when we close the doors in New York. Obviously, it is not something that is not, hopefully, going to happen." Tweeted video here. First, why not?
But second, those who "cover" (for) the UN reported Guterres' words at face value, simply accepting his statement that the mansion could not be sold in any circumstances. But when donor intentions become outmoded, as here with a single man lives only a few days a month in a mansion he claims he wants to sell, the intentions can be reformed. Cy pres.
Third, Boutros Boutros Galli wrote in his book that the building was given by Arthur Houghton through the United Nations Association of the USA. See here. If this group which claims to care so much about the UN cannot act to allow it to be sold, what of their claims to care for the UN?
Incidentally, even cursory research -- the UN refuses to answer any of Inner City Press' questions except infrequently about the many UN rapes - finds reports that Houghton tried to jack up the value of his tax deduction by selling One Sutton Place North, the house on the corner, to make a high valuation. Fraud ad initio - as with the UN. We'll have more on this.

After Calk Pled Not Guilty Inner City Press Asked Of Fraud Finding No CRA On Bank Website
By Matthew Russell Lee, Video, Alamy photos
SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 24 – Steven M. Calk of FDIC-regulated Federal Savings Bank was presented and arraigned on May 23 for financial institution bribery for corruptly using his position with FSB to issue $16 million in high-risk loans to Paul Manafort in a bid to obtain a senior position with the Trump administration, namely Secretary of the Army.
Magistrate Judge Debra Freeman in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York accepted the government's proposal of $5 million bond with no co-signer (although that is usually required for moral suasion) and travel allowed throughout the United States (though more defendants are usually confined to the Soutern and Eastern District of NY and one other district). Money talks.
Afterward in front of the SDNY courthouse Inner City Press asked Calk's lawyers Daniel Stein and Jeremy Margoles about Manafort saying he had misstated his financial situation to get the FSB loans. When did Calk know? They did not answer. Video here, Facebook video here. Inner City Press' Alamy photoshere.
On May 23, still from the SDNY courthouse covering other cases including one involving the death penalty, Inner City Press reportedfinding no U.S. Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data for "Federal Savings Bank." But there's more.
The Federal Savings Bank's website, while providing a generic link to the FDIC, and a statement "Member FDIC," has no link for the U.S. Community Reinvestment Act. (Nor does it mention the indictment of Stephen Calk, simply listing his brother John Calk now as CEO and Vice Chairman. Who is the chairman?)
It lists a loan production office on Avenue J in Brooklyn, and two deposit taking braches in Illinois. Did it see some exemption from the CRA and other consumer protection laws? From fair lending laws? The FDIC website provides no insight.
Stephen Calk was quoted, at least in 2012, opposing regulation: "As Mr. Stephen Calk writes in the September 7, 2012 edition of Origination News: “Basel III is designed to level the playing field among major banking institutions that operate internationally. Force-feeding these same rules to community banks in the United States is unnecessary and in fact counter-productive, particularly in the current economic environment.” Basel III is one thing. But no Community Reinvestment Act?
The Federal Savings Bank lists locations - and bankers - in Arizona - Scottsdale California - Irvine Colorado - Fort Collins Delaware - Selbyville Florida - Sarasota Illinois - Chicago Illinois - Lake Forest Illinois - Oak Brook Illinois - Park Ridge Indiana - Bloomington Indiana - Indianapolis Kansas - Overland Park Louisiana - Laplace Maryland - Annapolis Maryland - Timonium CD Massachusetts - Lawrence New Jersey - Hackensack New Jersey - Lakewood New York - Brooklyn New York - Melville New York - New York New York - Queens North Carolina - Raleigh Ohio - Columbus Rhode Island - South Kingstown Tennessee - Nashville Virginia - Alexandria Virginia - Fredericksburg Virginia - Newport News Virginia - Richmond Virginia - Vienna Virginia - Warrenton... We'll have more on this.
In the indictment press release, FDIC OIG Special Agent-in-Charge Patricia Tarasca said, “Today’s indictment charges Stephen Calk with misusing his position as Chairman and CEO of a bank for his own personal gain. The FDIC Office of Inspector General remains committed to investigating cases where bank officials cause multimillion-dollar losses to a financial institution and undermine its integrity.” (The FDIC stands to be the lead regulator of BB&T whose money laundering enforcement action was just terminated by the Federal Reserve to facilitate merger with Suntrust, click here for that and Inner City Press' FOIA request and appeal.)

Calk Indicted For $16M Loan to Manafort To Buy Top Army Job SDNY Presentment Day After Trump DB Circus
By Matthew Russell Lee, Video; Patreon here
SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 23 – Steven M. Calk of FDIC-regulated Federal Savings Bank has been indicted for financial institution bribery for corruptly using his position with FSB to issue $16 million in high-risk loans to Paul Manafort in a bid to obtain a senior position with the Trump administration, namely Secretary of the Army. He is to be presented before Magistrate Judge Debra Freeman in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York later on May 23.
FDIC OIG Special Agent-in-Charge Patricia Tarasca said in a statement, “Today’s indictment charges Stephen Calk with misusing his position as Chairman and CEO of a bank for his own personal gain.
The indictment was unsealed the day after President Donald J. Trump lost his bid to stay the House of Representatives' subpoenas to two other banks, Capital One and Deutsche Bank. After the May 22 ruling in Trump v. Deutsche Bank by SDNY Judge Edgardo Ramos, Trump lawyer Patrick Strawbridge headed to the elevators in the windowless lobby outside the courtroom.
He was disinclined to comment and even take questions from the press. When reporters got on the elevator with him, he got off, saying sacrastically but not bitterly, Much as I'd like to be asked questions in the elevator...
Downstairs in front of the Thurgood Marshall courthouse there were demonstrators will a long Impeach Trump banner and the small black Congress Has A Right To Know signs, three of which had been quickly raised in the courtroom, and just as quickly taken down when Judge Ramos requested it.
The SDNY Court Security Officers spoke to the sign holders but did not eject them, during the 10 minute recess Judge Ramos took to put the finishing touches on his 25-page decision.

On Cameroon After Belated UNSC Arria Ends With No Answers Biya Brags As Greenlight to Genocide
By Matthew Russell Lee, Video
UNITED NATIONS GATE, May 15 – Afterthe UN Security Council held belated "Arriaformula" session about Cameroon, an informal one with no outcome on which even co-sponsors Germany and the UK refused to answer Press questions, hypocrisy and cover up of the UN's failure remain evident. Video here.
Because it was an informal meeting and the proponents would not answer questions andAntonio Guterres' UN has yet to provide requested information to Inner City Press, it has allowed Paul Biya's government to claim, in effect, that no meeting took place: "Some member states of the United Nations Security Council had an informal meeting on Monday to discuss the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Anglophone region of Cameroon. A communiqué issued by the Cameroonian Ministry of External Relations however denied reports of a UN Security Council Meeting on the Anglophone region crisis. According to the communiqué no such meeting is scheduled. The communiqué further stated that, this meeting was a ‘’ free consultation entirely outside of the Council on the initiative of certain members who are interested in the humanitarian situation in Cameroon.’‘ It further added that outcomes of this meeting will not be binding on the government since the meeting was informal as specified by Cameroon’s diplomacy."
Guterres and the member states who support his censorship have their role in this. As with Sri Lanka, it ends up being a greenlight to genocide.
The meeting ended without any outcome, after Paul Biya's longtime Ambassador Tommo Monthe lashed out at social media as UNSG Antonio Guterres does. Monthe told Inner City Press, as it asked about Biya cutting the Internet in the Anglophone zones, that Inner City Press could get thrown out of the UN. And it was, by Guterres, now 313 days and counting.
In the meeting, China said the Biya can impose law and order - Xinjiang style, some wondered, through Guterres' alliance with China is even larger, including as their CEFC China Energy tried to buy the oil company of Gulbekian Foundation which paid Guterres. France's Francois Delattre said his country will work with Biya.
The EU's João Vale de Almeida, who tweeted a selfie with Monthe before the meeting assuring him the EU would be support, came through. He and the EU Mission have done nothing about Guterres' open censorship. These people are killing the UN.
Inner City Press, banned from entering the UN for the 313th day in a row, asked UK Deputy Ambassador Jonathan Allen when his country expected to get out of the meeting. He said, "Hello Matthew" but just like his Mission, no substantive answer. Video here.
Inside the meeting, he expressed surprise that the UK is viewed as pro Paul Biya, ignoring that his minister Liam Fox bragged about UK-based New Age's oil deal with Biya. Germany's speech was even less focused; they have not answered Inner City Press'Cameroon's questions, or done anything about the UN's censorship of the Press.
(Inner City Press went and began interested at the Ambazonia / Southern Cameroonsdemonstration in the 47th Street park, in the rain, video here.)
The head of the UN, Antonio Guterres, took a golden statue from Paul Biya in his last interaction, and cut a deal of silence for Biya's support in the UN Budget Committee which Biya's Ambassador Tommo Monthe chaired.

On Cameroon Belated UNSC Session Ends With No Outcome EU Likes Monthe Who Trashes Social Media
By Matthew Russell Lee, CJR PFT NYP
UNITED NATIONS GATE, May 13 – As the UN Security Council began a belated session about Cameroon, albeit an informal one with no expected outcome and notably not co-sponsored by veto holding colonial power France, hypocrisy and cover up of the UN's failure are evident.
The UK's Liam Fox bragged about UK-based New Age's hydro carbons deal with Biya, just as another example. Sycophant media which ignored than dismissed the killings now mechanically mis-report this "Arria formula" meeting, essentially to rehabilitate the remaining credibility of the UN and themselves, like Human Rights Warch which told Inner City Press Cameroon was not a top 90 problem to be included in HRW's 2018 World Report.
Don't believe the hype. In 2009, for example, after the UNSC belatedly held such sessions on Sri Lanka, the lack of outcome emboldened the Rajapaksas to go ahead and "finish off" the Tamils in what's called the Bloodbath on the Beach. The UN system has not held anyone accountable; Guterres representative Singer was smiling with Mahinda Rajapaka this year. The only thing missing was a golden statute.
Will what Guterres accepted from Biya beseen, or even mentioned, in the May 13 meeting that Inner City Press for reporting on it cannot even enter to cover in person, bannedfrom entering the UN for the 313th day by Guterres, with similar inaction by the UNSC members? Watch this site.

In NCAA Trial Dawkins Guilty on Two Counts Merl Code on One Inner City Press Asks Haney Of Bigger Fish
By Matthew Russell Lee, #SDNYLIVE, Scope
SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 8 – In the NCAA college basketball bribery trial, the jury on May 8 found Christian Dawkins guilty on two of the six counts against him, Merl Code of only one. Code by the elevator outside the courtroom told the press that there had been no evidence showing him bribing any one but that the verdict is the verdict and that he and his legal team with work on it.
Afterward just outside the courthouse where it is allowed to film, Inner City Press asked Dawkins' lawyer Steve Haney if he thinks U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman should be going after bigger fish ("yes") and about the Pre Sentencing Reports and possible concurrent running of this new sentence with the six months imposed on Dawkings in the previous James Gatto case. Video here. We'll have more on this.
There is a continuum of focus on the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, ranging down from investigations of Donald Trump through this coming week's narrowing NCAA basketball corruption trial down to the extremely narrow prosecution of only Patrick Ho for United Nations bribery.
While rarely viewed together, there is a pattern here, examined below. On the morning of May 6 Christian Dawkins' attorney Steve Haney played audio clips and said they showed Dawkins may have paid players and their families but did not pay coaches. Rather, he just took Jeff D'Angelo's money. Haney urged the jury, to begin deliberating later in the day, NOT to get on Jeff D'Angelo's yacht but rather to say bon voyage to his, a government agent, and the government's case. There was Merl Code in a conversation on wire tap about taking D'Angelo's money by taking up to Madison Square Garden to meet Melo and Porginzis, and a reference (in the transcript) to "[U/I] Williamson." Can you say, Zion?

UN Guterres Holds Polluting Dinner Party With Motors Running Outside Corrupting Sweden Ambassador Inner City Press Video Here
By Matthew Russell Lee, Exclusive, CJRLetter PFTracker
UNITED NATIONS GATE, April 30 – UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres told the world, on video, to join the UN for an "urgent" Earth Hour and turn off the lights between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm on 30 March 2019. But at the UN itself, the lights were ablaze through the entire hour, as live streamed by Inner City Press here. And up at the empty $15 million mansion Guterres sometimes lives in, on Sutton Place and 57th Street, the third story lights were on, and even a UN Security car in front: pure waste. Periscope here. This hypocrisy was repeated, corrupting yet others, on 29 April 2019 when Guterres fresh back from a craven trip to China held an undisclosed dinner party with a half dozen Ambassadors, who left their limousines out on Sutton Place with their motors running and spewing exhaust for more than an hour. Video here. Inner City Press filmed it and asked, for example, Sweden's Ambassador Olof Skoog about it and Guterres' now 300 day censorship. But they have done nothing. Guterres is killing the UN. We'll have more on this.
Before Inner City Press was roughed up by Guterres' Security on June 22 and July 3, 2018and banned since then, it insistently asked for disclosure of how many of Guterres' publicly funded trips took him through his real home, Lisbon. The questions are not been answered by Spokesman Stephane Dujarric, who on 2 November 2019 simply bicycled away as Inner City Press asked about Guterres' failure in Cameroon and attempt to get even Park East Synagogue to oust Inner City Press from covering his October 31 speech about tolerance. Guterres' hypocrisy, specifically about the environmental and Earth Hour, was covered by the Columbia Journalism Reviewwhich wrote about his ouster of Inner City Press. But he just doesn't care, becuase he doesn't have to, legally, with impunity. He is corrupt.

As UN Guterres In Beijing With China Paymasters His Mansion Has Visitors In Luxury Car Fleeing Camera of the PressBy Matthew Russell Lee, Exclusive, CJRLetter PFTrackerUNITED NATIONS GATE, April 27 – Before Inner City Press was roughed up by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres' Security on June 22 and July 3, 2018 and banned since then, it insistently asked for disclosure of how many of Guterres' publicly funded trips took him through his real home, Lisbon. It had blue diplomatic plates. Inner City Press broadcast a Periscope video of it - and suddenly the diplomatic limousine pulled around the corner of 57th Street and Sutton Place and sat, idling, with its lights on. Periscope video II here. Then Inner City Press stepped or pedaled away for a moment - and upon its return only a few minutes later, the luxury car was again in front of Guterres' mansion. When Inner City Press took a photo and began to stream Periscope video again, the car again backed around the corner. Periscope video III, here. What do they have to hide? Suddenly accompanied by UN Security several people came out of Guterres' rear entrance, got in the car and drove off. Who were they? We'll have more on this. On Friday 19 April 2019, the supposedly environmentalist UNSG Antonio Guterres had all of the third story lights on in the $15 million publicly funded mansion in which he sometimes lives alone in - this while his public schedule says he is on "annual leave," a code word for out of town at his real home in Lisbon. What a waste, what hypocrisy. Already China is bragging that Guterres will cravenly show up at its Belt and Road event, after Guterres refused to audit UN briber CEFC China Energy. CEFC tried to buy the oil company of Lisbon based Gulbenkian Foundation the payments of which to Guterres were not included in his public financial disclosure covering 2016. This was days after Guterres' Alison Smale and Tal Mekel summarily denied Inner City Press application to re-enter the UN to ask questions, and after guards physically pushed Inner City Press out of the line for a press freedom event in the UN it was invited to and had a ticket for, then refused to provide the banned-by-Guterres list they said was the basis of their action. After UN Guterres Met Bashir Sudan Protest At UN While Guterres Sidles Up To Haftar and Biya Corrupt
By Matthew Russell Lee, CJR LetterPFT Q&A
UNITED NATIONS GATE, April 6 – Despite Sudan's Omar al Bashir being indicted for genocide, Antonio Guterres has repeatedly met with him, as acknowledged to Inner City Press by Guterres' deputy spokesman Farhan Haq on 29 January 2018 (before Guterres had Inner City Press roughed up and banned from the UN for 276days now). On April 6 amid protests in Sudan and around the world, there was a protest in front of the UN. Inner City Press filmed the tail end of it, here. Guterres was away, meeting strongman Haftar in Libya as he had met the killing Paul Biya in Cameroon, and taken a golden statue from him. Guterres is the most corrupt Secretary General yet of the UN, and may be its demand. If you want to save the UN, #DumpGuterres: #NoSecondTerm. On March 13, this: "ACJPS calls upon Sudanese authorities to urgently investigate the reported torture and custodial death of three University students who were detained by the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) for participating in the ongoing protests. Mr Muhajoob Eltaj Muhajoob, a 25-year-old student from Khartoum died on 24 December 2018 shortly after being detained on the same day by NISS of Khartoum. Reliable information indicates that he was subjected to torture including beatings on different parts of his body using horse pipes and sticks while in NISS custody. In January 2019, ACJPS documented the custodial and suspicious deaths of two students arrested for participating in peaceful protests by NISS in Khartoum and Al Gaderef states. The dead bodies of both students retrieved from River Nile in Khartoum and Al Gederef hospital had serious marks of torture. One of the deceased students had a bullet wound in his mouth and his hair was shaven off. [Then there are the] 48 University students who remain in NISS custody since protests broke out on December 19 2018, given reports about the torture and ill-treatment. The students were arrested during raids on students' residence by NISS in the states of Khartoum, Sennar and Port Sudan among others." What will Guterres say? Guterres met with Bashir again, in Addis Ababa. Inner City Press on February 13 before the UN noon briefing run by Guterres' lead spokesman Stephane Dujarric asked him, Alison Smale, Amina J. Mohammed and others: "February 13-2: On Sudan and the ICC, please immediately deny or confirm and read out that " United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met with Sudan’s president on the sidelines of the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, said Foreign Minister El-Dirdeiry Ahmed in a statement released on Monday. The meeting of al-Bashir with Guterres was reported by the official news agency SUNA saying it took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Ababa on the sidelines of the 32nd Ordinary Summit of the African Union." How many times in total has Guterres met Bashir - and any other ICC indictees?" None of these have answered, despite promises including to UNSR David Kaye that they would. But the UN has become such a scam that inside the February 13 noon briefing Inner City Press was banned from one of Dujarric's partners in censorship, James Bays of Al Jazeera (see Dujarric's false claims to the Columbia Journalism Review, here

In SDNY Avenatti Charged With Extorting Nike and Released on $300000 Bail Inner City Press Asks of NCAA Bracket
By Matthew Russell Lee
SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 25 – When Michael Avenatti was brought into court on March 25 on charges of extorting Nike and defrauding banks, he sat alone at the defense table for twenty minutes. The two Federal Defenders lawyers representing him then came in, and huddled twice with a group of prosecutors. It emerged they hammered out a bail package: $300,000 bond, turning in both American and Italian passports and not contacting Co-Conspirator 1 without counsel present. U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Katharine H. Parker accepted the bail package, and told Avenatti if he does not show up a warrant will be issued for his arrest. Later, much later, Avenatti emerged in front of the SDNY court's Worth Street entrance and spoke without taking questions, saying he will continue to fight. On his way to his 4 by 4 Inner City Press asked, What information do you have on Nike? And, to try to get some response, Has your [NCAA March Madness] bracket been broken? There was no answer. Periscope video here. College basketball scandals involving Adidas and University of Louisville on March 5, with a glancing reference to Rick Pitino, resulted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in prison sentences of nine months for James Gatto, and six months each for Merl Code and Christian Dawkins. Since then LSU coach Will Wade has been suspended - even as LSU with named JavonteSmart in March Madness beat Maryland on March 23, to next face off against the Spartans of Michigan State, with Wade still sending text message to "his" players. Meanwhile afterPitino's former team Louisville lost against Minnesota coached by his son by 10 - call it karma -- then Minnesota lost to Michigan State (slated to play LSU). Auburn, see below, again reversed the karmic trend with a win over Kansas after its squeaker win over New Mexico State. The next NCAA corruption trial starts April 22 in the SDNY, with Will Wade already served a subpoena... On March 19 Chuck Person, former coach at Auburn, pled guilty in the SDNY to receiving approximately $91,500 in cash bribes from athlete advisers in exchange for using his influence over Auburn basketball players to retain the services of the advisers paying the bribes. Person pled guilty before SDNY Judge Loretta A. Preska, who on March 25 is set to sentence UN briber Patrick Ho who paid $500,000 to UN PGA Sam Kutesa of Uganda, and offered $2 million to Chad's Idriss Deby.

As Guterres Kills UN With Corruption and Cameroon Censorship Misuses NYPD on 96 St #DumpGuterres
By Matthew Russell Lee, CJR PFT CEFC Video
UNITED NATIONS GATE, March 22 – Following this week's terrorist attack on the mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, people all over the world have praised the reaction of the Kiwi prime minister Jacinda Ardern. Meanwhile in New York, the murky faux feminist Secretary General of the UN Antonio Guterres, after refusing to put a price tag on his travel, to audit the UN activities of briber CEFC China Energy he his linked to or to speak on the killings in Cameroon, is trying to follow suit. Guterres' deputy spokesman Farhan Haq - lead spokesman Stephane Dujarric is typically on leave - announced on March 21 that "on Friday, just after noon, he will visit the Islamic Cultural Centre of New York at 96th Street here in Manhattan. He intends to make some remarks to the press while he is there, and you are all invited to attend." But when Inner City Press went to 96th Street, one of Guterres' guards went to an NYPD squad car and requested that two NYPD officers waste their time and the public's money standing around Inner City Press and not others in the same spot. We have video, here; the event also had the Permanent Representatives of Australia and Turkey and Kuwait, Spain's former former 99Moratinos of the "UN Alliance of Civilizations" with also censors and, from Guterres' staff, Tanguy Stehelin formerly the legal adviser of the French Mission to the UN. This from Guterres who tried to have the Press removed from the Park East Synagogue. It's too little, too late - it's time to #DumpGuterres. At least, #NoSecondTerm. Why not Ardern? #AnyoneButGuterres.

UN Guterres Uses Two 4x4s and 5 Guards Arriving At Publicly Funded Mansion Hypocrisy of Sustainability Like His Censorship
By Matthew Russell Lee, Exclusive, CJRLetter PFTracker
UNITED NATIONS GATE, March 16 – Before Inner City Press was roughed up by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres' Security on June 22 and July 3, 2018 and banned since then, it insistently asked for disclosure of how many of Guterres' publicly funded trips took him through his real home, Lisbon. Now on Saturday 16 March 2019, the supposedly environmentalist UNSG Antonio Guterres arrived at the $15 million publicly funded mansion in which he lives alone in not one but two large four by four vehicles, with six guards. Video here. What a waste, what hypocrisy. This was two days after Guterres guards physically pushed Inner City Press out of the line for a press freedom event in the UN it was invited to and had a ticket for, then refused to provide the banned-by-Guterres list they said was the basis of their action. Totally corrupt. On March 2 with Guterres presumably in New York but not in the mansion at 5 pm - there were no UN security vehicles nearby - he nonetheless left all lights in the second floor blazing. This is pure waste, pure hypocrisy given what Guterres claims about his commitment to sustainability - all the more so because it was broad day light. On matters ranging from censorship and corruption to this, the hypocrisy gets worse and worse. On November 20, the day Guterres accepted the resignation of Erik Solheim -- which Guterres hypocritically demanded on November 19 -- for similar misuse of public funds to travel to Oslo and Paris, Inner City Press asked Guterres who his travel to Lisbon was any different. Guterres refused to answer, got into the back of his publicly funded Mercedes and drove off.

UN of Guterres Uses Non Public Barred List To Push Press Out of Line For Media Freedom Event It Was Invited To
By Matthew Russell Lee, CJR PFT CEFC Video
UNITED NATIONS GATE, March 14 – How lawless is the United Nations of Secretary General Antonio Guterres? In the midst of Inner City Press' questioning in 2018 about Guterres' links to now convicted UN bribery Patrick Ho's China Energy Fund Committee and Guterres' failures on Cameroon and elsewhere, his UN Security twice roughed up Inner City Press on June 22 and July 3, 2018.
Then after Inner City Press filed a New York Police Department complaint against the UN and its Lieutenant Ronald E. Dobbins, none of its written questions to UN Security chief Peter Drennen and Guterres were answered.
On March 14, Inner City Press UN bureau chief, this reporter, was invited to press freedom event in the UN sponsored by the UN Missions of France, Lithuania and Greece. I RSVP-ed and was told to come up up my ticket at the Visitors Entrance. I did; I was given a ticket with my name on it. Tweeted photo here.
After waiting in line, I showed my drivers license and the ticket and was waved into a second line for the metal detectors, where a sign said no video allowed. Periscope video here, until voluntarily turned off. Halfway through the line, four UN Security officers and a supervisor came over and ordered me to leave, saying I am on their barred list. I asked to see the list. I was pushed from behind and told I would be shown the list outside. They took the paper ticket, saying it is property of the UN. (There's still this photo.) But once they pushed me out onto the stairs, no one came out with the list. First of a series of Periscope videos here. To this has the UN sunk.
After a UN media accreditation "review" that did not include any opportunity to be heard for Inner City Press, Guterres' Under Secretary General Alison Smale on 17 August 2018 issued a letter "withdrawing" Inner City Press' UN media accreditation. Smale was asked how Inner City Press could appeal, including by UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression David Kaye, but did not answer that.
On 3 September 2018, facing the prospect of being unable to enter the UN to cover the General Assembly "high level" week for the first time in a decade, Inner City Press submitted an application for accreditation.

At SDNY Inner City Press Asks Ron Kuby of Argument Okoumou Only Makes Money By Breaking Law
By Matthew Russell Lee, Periscope, Photos
SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 1 – When Statue of Liberty climber Therese Okoumou appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on March 1, it was to face revocation of bail for more recent climbs, all to protest the separation of immigrant families. SDNY Judge Gorenstein did not revoke bail but imposed house arrest. He jibed that it appeared Ms. Okoumou could only support herself by donations garnered by climbing. Afterward Inner City Press asked her lawyer Ron Kuby about this argument. He said the judge has it precisely wrong, or in reverse: she raised money because she is an activist, she is not an actively in order to make money. Ms. Okoumou raised her fist, and headed to Staten Island. Photos here. Inner City Press, which interviewed Okoumou on December 5 just after another SDNY decision, in the Patrick Ho / CEFC China Energy UN bribery case, headed out and streamed this Periscope, and this Q&A, with more to come, on this case and others. How guns eject shell casings was the subject of expert testimony in a Bronx gang trial on February 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Before Judge Robert W. Sweet, an ATF agent traced a bullet back to Illinois; under cross examination he said a shell casing might eject feet rather than yards unless it bounced on something. Then testimony went back to 2007, a 14-year old with a gun heading from the Millbrook projects to the Mitchell Houses. The defense asked for a mistrial when the name of a second gang was introduced; the prosecution shot back (so to speak) that it came from photos on the defendant's own Facebook page. And so it goes in trials these days. Back on February 25 a prison sentence of life plus five years was imposed for a Bronx murder by SDNY Chief Judge Colleen McMahon on February 25. She presided over the trial in which Stiven Siri-Reynoso was convicted of, among other things, murder in aid of racketeering for the death of Jessica White, a 28 year old mother of three, in the Bronx in 2016. Jessica White's mother was in the court room; she was greeted by Judge McMahon but declined to speak before sentencing. Siri-Reynoso was representing himself by this point, with a back-up counsel by his side. Judge McMahon told him, "You're a very smart man... a tough guy, a calculating person... You are a coward, sent a child to do it for you... Your emissary shot the wrong person, a lovely lady... It was a vicious, evil attack against the good people of that neighborhood." When she imposed the life plus five sentence, a woman on the Jessica White side of the courtroom cried out, yes Ma'am, put the animal away! Later, after Siri-Reynoso ended asking how he can get more documents about the case, a woman on his side of the courtroom said, "No te preocupes, muchacho, Dios sabe lo que hace" - don't worry, God knows what he is doing. But does He? Earlier on February 25 when the government tried to defend its 2018 change of policy or practice on Special Immigrant Juvenile status in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge John G. Koeltl had many questions about the change. He asked, are you saying that all the decisions before 2018 were just wrong, under a policy in place but not implemented at the time? In the overflow courtroom 15C the largely young audience laughed, as the government lawyer tried to say it wasn't a change of policy but rather an agency interpretation of the statute. Shouldn't there have been notice and comment rulemaking under the Administrative Procedure Act? The government said the argument proffered for this was about the Freedom of Information Act (on which, as Inner City Press has noted, the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has similarly reversed its policy 180 degrees without justification). SDNY Judge Koeltl demanded t know if the government is arguing that no juvenile court in New York, California (and maybe Texas for other reasons he said) is empowered to grant relief. The answer was far from clear - but where the ruling is going does seem so. Watch this site. The Bangladeshi Central Bank which was hacked for $81 million in February 2016, on January 31 sued in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Now the first pre-trial conference in the case has been set, for 2 April 2019 before SDNY Judge Lorna G. Schofield. Inner City Press will be there.
