too busy working to make it to church, so i had to just watch the livestream (if you look closely you can see the crazy amount of tabs i have open right now). we had a guest pastor who gave a talk on home and exile, which was highly relatable to me since i‘ve never felt at home in japan…or anywhere, really.

church memories from the past couple weeks ~

(sun 5/25) my first time having this mass produced communion since it’s my first time at a church this big. but maybe also the most meaningful communion i’ve ever had. a sermon that taught me about accepting and carrying with me the joy God gives us.

(wed 5/28) mid week service with a guest speaker/performer. she was so talented! all of the pastors and many of the staff are bilingual, but they always have someone else interpret when they speak. not her! she gave her talk in both japanese and english, switching back and forth seamlessly. she sang too, and her voice was lovely.

the pastor leading the mid week service prayed for me and i didn’t realize how much i needed it until tonight, the night before my appointment to apply for a disability certificate.

(sun 6/1) another great sermon by the senior pastor and then a smaller Bible lecture. i was tired by the Bible lecture since i went shopping for a side gig before church (and thank God for that opportunity) so i wasn’t as present as i’d like to have been but i learned some history and the speaker was lovely and radiated this soft, warm energy. i left glad to have come and heard it despite the fatigue.
