Sai - kisses

Sai is shy about kisses at first because no matter how many books he has read he's never sure if he's going to do it properly.

But at the same time he doesn't want anyone to step ip and teach him because he feels like this is something he has ti take control of and learn his comfort levels with before anyone else takes that away from him.

So he starts off really small. Like kisses on the hand, or cheek kisses. Anything that's not the mouth but also not super intimate.

His first try is with Sakura, after she has been really nice to him and helped him with some things he has been trying to learn, he takes her hand and gently kisses the back. Nothing too long or too much, but quick and simple. He figures he got that one right cuz Sakura has gone bright red and has lost all function of how to speak.

His second attempt is more brave. Naruto is havong a bad day and complaining about training and Sai really wants to make hin feel beter, and he has noticed Naruto responds quowt positively to affections, so while Naruto is in the middle of a rant he leans in and kisses his cheek and tells him that he's going to do fine and he'll master his training. He doesn?xt stick around to see Naruto's reaction, deciding instead to find a quieter place to sit and read.

When it comes to getting kisses, Sai always backs away and tries to avoid them. He gets really uncomfertable quick cuz he doesn't understand how things work, and he realizes quickly that most people don't understand boundries (espeshally naruto). He's thankful both Yamato and Kakashi are equally as avoident to emotional displays as him, because both of them have saved himfrom too much affection from both of his team mates on more than one occassion, including one time when Naruto tried to return the cheek kiss (Kakashi slapped a hand over Naruto's face and told him to save it for Hinata XD)

His favorite kiss though is his first realy mouth to mouth kiss. It's months after him and Ino have started dating and he's sure she's getting impatient with him, but one day she wraps her arms around his neck and starta talking about her day and she's just being so cute and open that he can't help but turn around and steal a quick kiss. And ino immidiatly returns it, stepping back when sai decides they've kissed for long enough and smiling that beautiful bright smile as she says "that was well worth the wait."

Sai had always lived his life in black and white. It helped him to survive life in the Foundation and Anbu. He carried out missions without question seeing directives as unquestionable and results as finite. Life had become quite colorless after losing his brother and he believed himself to be fated to a dull, painful life. The one person that he cared about was gone and he had taken colors with him.

Being with team 7 had reintroduced him to colors like orange and pink but the inky black that he protected himself in wouldn’t allow those hues to pierce through. He’d resigned himself to live as an artist that painted in neutral colors and saw the world as such. That was, until she came along, and carried him out of that dark, colorless place.

Ino, his beautiful Love came into his life in a burst of color dispersing the darkness and bringing into his life a spectrum of light. He feared that his darkness would consume her gorgeous light. To his joy and relief, she remained there like a beacon, guiding him, drawing him into her glorious glow. He wanted so much to play in that sunlight, to sink into her world of beauty and radiance. Shades of gold and sky blue enhancing and brightening the universe.
