I think the main problem is that people are afraid to move on.

Veilguard is about how time has passed and you can't go back to the past. The language has changed with young people, weapons have changed while Emmrich still uses a staff, conflicts of ten years ago are just a memory. People have moved on. The world has moved on. Some bastard is trying to bring back the past because he hates this new world. People aren't going to bring up the Tranquil unprompted on the streets because chances are that the practice is completely dead.

And the fandom's reaction to Veilguard is poetic in that regard. It is really like that guy who didn't realize the war was over.

veilguard redesigns based on headcanons and details i find interesting. i was going to add more to these before i posted them but working on this frequently made me remember why I'm on such a high dose of effexor

cause as much as i love dragons purring and roaring i wish there was just more variety in how they would act

clacking their teeth together to show contentedness/happiness (budgies)

using tails as a defensive weapon in a whip like fashion (iguana)

twitching to express that they're not a threat to members of their species (hognose snake)

feeling calm when eyes are hooded/covered (birds of prey)

head bobbing as a threat display (anoles/bearded dragons)

flattening neck or sides to appear bigger (snakes/lizards)

mantling over food to protect it from hatchmates (birds of prey)

wiggling neck as a courting maneuver (budgies)

audibly grinding teeth as a warning (macaques)

maintained eye contact as a challenge (gorillas)

and im not saying canine and feline behaviors are wrong or bad to give a dragon (people wouldn't write dragons with those behaviors if they weren't fun in the first place!) but i feel for creatures that are mythological giant winged lizards that you can do more and get experimental with it. often the more unfamiliar behavior the more dragons get that much more dragony

There's a point beyond which focusing too much on the rarity of certain video game achievements becomes a sort of unintentional self-own on the part of the developer. Like, yeah, sometimes "only 0.5% of players have this achievement" feels like an accomplishment, but more often it's like "yeah, I fucking bet".

Why does he have sexily lounging elf boys?

I ask because I cannot imagine a beholder being attracted to anything other than itself. Does he just understand Sexily Lounging Elf Boys to be a status symbol, and he wants anyone who visits to know he can afford Sexily Lounging Elf Boys?

Maybe I'm the asshole here for assuming. Maybe these boyfriends are master tacticians here to advise Xanathar, they happen to like wearing leather pants and no shirts and I should be less quick to reduce them to sex objects.
