There are many different facets of this that complicate the issue: funding (which you need for web domain space) when you don't want to subject your fellows to ads or subscription fees and pooling in a user base to start are two big factors to consider.

That and time. To make anything you must give up your time one way or another.

But you stand to gain a platform of your own where people don't need to be afraid of hate speech and discrimination.

What a conundrum.
