Within the blood of the wizard lay lifetimes of knowledge, wisdom and experience. He served with Kings, Emperors, Pharaohs and Lords. He advised dozens of leaders and had lent his services to rulers and countries for dozens of life times.
Needless to say it was within the make up of his soul to be a man who affected change where ever he may be.
But there was one change that he could not fix and it frustrated him to high heavens.
The Wizard entered the room and sat at this study… Irate that the most essential lesson of them all he could not pass on to his apprentice..
“Hijo.. sientate” (“Sit down my son “in Spanish) he said.. as he looked at the grimoire he was writing..
“Yes Master!” the apprentice said in the utmost respect.
The wizard always recognized the devotion his apprentice had to him. Years of learning, studying and training him had shown that within his apprentice he had a loyal follow, and a son like he never imagined. His apprentice would place the utmost care and effort to deliver the highest quality results in order to keep his master pleased.
Placing down the quill the wizard looked up at the young man he had called his apprentice. He was pleased at the level of skill he had developed in the time they were together. Needless to say the basic tenets of magick an the rules of the universe were already well installed into the mind of this young man..
However The one lesson that he had yet to learn would be the hardest of them all..
“you have done well in your learnings with me, and I am proud to say that you will achieve many great things in your own life as a wizard… But there is one thing you have yet to learn which you must begin your quest on now” the wizard said to his apprentice
“And what is that Master?” the Apprentice questioned.
With a stern look in his eye he made eye contact and said to the apprentice “ you Must learn to be the wizard and no longer the apprentice”
Confused the apprentice looked at his master and asked. “But master. I would rather follow your lead.. your lifetimes of wisdom will surely lead me to the enlightenment i see as a Magus. Why can I not just stay your loyal apprentice?”
With an understanding look on his face the Wizard smiled “Because if you continue to be dependent on my wisdom you will never develop your own. You will never be able to realize what it means to become a true Wizard. And you will eternally stay and apprentice.”
With a small shake of slight disappointment the Wizard continued.. It is for that reason. that in your next lifetime. I will not be incarnating as a Mage or a wizard. you will know it is me but I will not bring with me any knowledge of these past lifetimes. So that once and for all you can learn to become the Wizard. And so that I can rest.
Confused the apprentice looked upon his master.. I don’t understand maestro. He said.
“Don’t worry Hijo.. you will when the time is right”.….The wizard replied
10 years and an entire lifetime later…
The Apprentice steps off the boat.. Beaten.. devastated… burnt.. Damaged but still alive…
His 10 years of forced exile had brought him to the brink of madness. In these 10 years he had been brought to question the entirety of his purpose. and if in fact it had all just been a figment of his imagination. He had at this moment lost almost everything in his life. but at the last moment was freed from his prison and finally let loose upon the world..
His training was done. And for the past 10 years he was alone. In the midst of his solitude and madness he screamed and begged for his Master or anyone connected to him to come to his aid. . But no one came..
In the height of his sadness he prayed for someone to “complete” his training and teach him the new secrets of this existence.. But his prayers were unanswered. On more than one occasion the apprentice pondered taking his own life. But never gave in to actually doing it.
Knowing that his master. Or any of the others were coming to his aide. He realized that he was all that was left. He was now the wizard. and with him comes the power and responsibility of his title..
He knew now that being freed from his exile the sign that he was waiting for. The sign that he was now going to enter the game.  Not as the needy apprentice. but as the last of his order. The Last wizard.
But this knowledge and realization did not come without its costs. and at more than once it nearly cost the Apprentice (now the New Wizard) his soul..
Entering the hostel he dropped his bag full of books and paraphernalia on the floor. Exhausted both mentally and physically from the tolls the exile placed upon him. He knew that this moment in his life was not the end of his exile but the beginning of his purpose. And he had much work to do.. Resigned to his fate he slumped on the chair to  catch his breathe….The New Wizard had much work to do. but he was confident now that he could do it.. He just needed to rest a bit…
Until he saw something that struck him to his soul and was the first omen of great things to come into his life.
He looked around the corner to see a Man he had never met before. but felt very familiar with for some strange reason,  He was around 6 feet plus in stature and was seated at the hostel dinner table reading a local newspaper. He was obviously European in descent
The man looked up at him and smiled..
“Hello Hijo”…

Ahhh Insidious. one of this generations latest franchises that have put the ummph back into the paranormal movies of this age. Being a avid reader/author/investigator of the Occult and the supernatural im always on the lookout for movies that give a semblance of utility and helpful knowledge behind their horror thick story lines. Some movies from way beyond my time like the Exorcist did this well, other movies did not.. Happy to say though this movie series (as 3 movies in total) belongs up there with the best of them.
What I particularly loved about this series is the emphasis that they placed on the astral world (Called the further) in the two previous movies. However the 3rd movie had a different approach which I found amusing all together. and that was the age of anecdote of some innocent soul trying in desperation to read their recently departed only to communicate with something else entirely.
Furthermore one aspect I particularly loved was the portrayal of the burdens of psychic life.. Many people portray themselves as celebrity psychics who haphazardly speak to the departed in auditoriums full of fascinated viewers. This movie however gave us all a glimpse to of the truth behind genuine psychic living and the toll it takes on those gifted with it.  And from a personal standpoint I loved that very much. Not only does this movie Insidious 3 show the burden that Elise the lead role had to carry as a psychic but it also portrayed the dangers that potentially can lurk in the areas beyond the human realm of experience. Or as John Constantine said “you see them, they see you”
The movie served as a stern caution against those who would attempt the practice spirit communication without any formal training or without the guidance of an experienced mentor. And as an advocate of safety in said practices, this was very much appreciated. But over all this movie was nothing less that a wonderful addition to an already amazing franchise of movies showing us that there are in fact spirits who wish to help and those who wish to harm…
Now on a technical level Id have one small comment about terminologies, Elise kept referring to the antagonist spirit as “Demon” however it wouldnt be proper of me to submit this review without rectifying this small mistake.  those who have seen the first two movies know that there are in fact 2 different kinds of negative spirits that she were trying to harm her and the other characters, the Demon was in all senses of the word a demonic entity, while the woman in black, was more of an evil spirit or ghost of an evil human being. These two should not be mistaken for one another since the levels of danger between and “evil spirit” and an actual demonic entity are leagues apart..
Semantics aside this movie was amazing. A good prequel (because in all honesty that’s what it was) to the original Insidious Story line and well worth the price of admission for all who take an interest in topics like these

Book Review:
StarWars: Darth Plagueis.
Ok over all people know me as an occultist. I have spent the bulk of my life reading books on magick, sorcery and other topics related. Every now and then I cycle a fictional book into my reading rotation to give my mind a break from absorbing too much technical information. However I was lucky to have my attention drawn to this book when I was visiting a rather run down book store near my home..
I have been studying the Polarities of energy, between the shifts of Dark and Light within the esoteric practice for years and be it due to dogma, or popular thought I was always led to believe that the "Darker" sides of magick were in effect "evil" "wrong" or "Corrupt" Now although fictional what I loved about this book was the fact that the story represents a unbiased perspective of being 'Apprenticed" to the Dark Side of the force. Several points that were validating to me wast the fact that this story helped me realize that we are beings of both Light and Darkness and if we attempt to "Cage" and contain our inner darkness for too long we will find ourselves at the mercy of it eventually.
One quote I particularly liked was the Saying where "Brute force is no longer the path to victory, and that true power will be expressed in enterprise and politics"  Or something to that extent. Although there were certain things that I gawked out (Especially the rule of the Sith being that the Apprentice must slay the master) I did give my proverbial Dark Side the well needed face time necessary to understand it fully due to the story within this book. And thus I am more at ease with it than ever before..
Again this is a FICTIONAL book. but the look into being a Sith Apprentice was in fact nothing less that enlightening. And I would highly recommend it to those who need a better perspective on their own "Dark Side of the Force"
Rating
5/5 stars For sheer brilliance
