Based on my “How I would’ve written Alvarez” post

*Open on the battle between Gildarts and August, after August took the attack of absolute heaven.*

August: *gasping*

Gildarts: He took that attack head on and is still standing… damn.

Cana: DAD! Why’s your arm limp?

Gildarts: Focusing all that crush magic must’ve messed with the prosthetic.

August: *Begins charging magic energy*

August: I AM AUGUST OF THE SPRIGGAN 12! I WILL NOT GIVE THIS LAND THE SATISFACTION OF VICTORY AGAINST HIS MAJESTY!

*August then activates Ars Maga*

Gildarts: shit it’s becoming harder to breath!

*suddenly Mavis is on the scene.*

Mavis: Stop!

Gildarts: First, get back!

Mavis: No! I won’t leave my child again!

Cana: CHILD!

Mavis: Precht erased most records of him in fairy tail but he preserved ever note on lumen histoire. Including my pregnancy.

Mavis: *tearing up* The notes said the child was terminated so I never wanted to think about it but, it also spoke of the child being born with neither light or darkness magic.

*Cut to a small flash back scene of Mavis looking at August when she was bound by ice slave*

Mavis: I felt it when I first met August. His magic was neither light nor dark but I couldn’t speak.

*cut back to present*

August: *gritting his teeth* Begone mother!

Mavis: *runs up and hugs August from behind* No! Do what you must as a spriggan but let me just have this moment, for all the years I couldn’t be your mother!

August: *Ceases using Ars Magia* *has a look of pure shock*

*August places his hands on mavis’s and then removes her arms from around him.*

August: Gildarts… Was it? Kill me.

Gildarts: What?!

August: I must defeat this nation at all costs for my emperor but… *begins tearing up* I can not bear the thought of killing my mother. Not after receiving that which I was denied for so long.

Gildarts: Then why do you want me to kill you!

August: I am the leader of the spriggan 12 and my loyalty lies forever with his majesty to the end of my life. But… I can no longer fight.

Cana: Then why don’t you help us?!

Mavis: *Hearing this her eyes widen*

Mavis: *on her knees crying* NOOOOOOOO!!

Gildarts: *walks over to Mavis*

Mavis: In one day… *sniffle* I lost two sons… I am a horrible mother…

Gildarts: *kneels down to Mavis* Hey first… Speaking as a shitty parent myself I know it sucks to not know your child and never get to be with them.

Cana: *looks away slightly*

Gildarts: But that’s why when we do learn about our kids we spend every day of our lives trying to do right by them. I think that’s what August would want for you.

Mavis: *Stops crying to look up at Gildarts’s smile*

Gildarts: You got a whole guild of kids to do right by so lets not disappoint them!

Mavis: *Gets up and rubs her eyes* You’re right… *looks confidently off into the distance* Zeref it’s time for you to fall for all the pain you’ve caused!
