There’s a pause as the man starts ── medical. At least he’s not stuck with a damn Starfleet Captain. Or , god forbid , a pilot. He would’ve jumped out of the moving ship if he had to deal with backseat piloting. He notices how the man cuts himself off , and Gideon waves a hand. ❛ Hey , keep on with the medical talk if you wanna. If it keeps ya’ from complainin’ about my piloting , I won’t interrupt ya’. ❜

It takes a moment to think. ❛ Me ? I don’t deal with Federation business very often. Transporting personnel or otherwise. ❜ He shrugs. ❛ I’m more versed in hauling cargo more than I am chauffeuring. "I wasn't aware a trip had to be urgent in order to qualify for an on-time drop-off," McCoy grouses, but he does begrudgingly strap in properly again. He's been privy to enough haphazard piloting attempts to know better than to leave these things up to chance. He keeps one wary eye on the stars outside, not quite convinced that the driver won't try and change course again.

"Medical," is the curt response, and he tries to ignore the jab. He'd probably say the same thing about an Engineering conference. Still, once prompted, he can't resist the urge to really get into it - what can he say? This is the most exciting event he's been invited to in three years. "I've been asked to present on a new form of treatment for Rigelian fever. Experimental, but promising. See, it's— oh, never mind." He leans back more fully in the seat, crossing one leg over the other. Somehow he gets the impression they'll be in disagreement regarding just how fascinating the topic is.

"Woulda thought your whole week'd be jam-packed with getting folks there and back. God forbid Fleet Medical actually provide transportation, seeing as they saw fit to pull half of us away from active starship duty."

In his defense , petty theft isn't usually what he goes for. But this is Earth , a planet that doesn't take credits , weirdly enough. In fact , everything here seems , well , boring. With all of the music of the Earth 70's he's heard , he really thought it would be cooler. Maybe a bit more colorful. But he really thought he was being sneaky enough to avoid getting caught. Guess he needs to put a bit more practice into the stealth department.
