It has been a busy week so the winner announcement for TumblrVidbir 2019 has come a bit late, but rest assured I have already submitted the entry before the deadline.
The ranking was converted into points. The song ranked first got 1 point, and the song ranked 7th (last) got 7 points. Therefore, the song with the least amount of points gets the right to represent Ukraine at @tmblrvision 2019.
Below I have provided the results of each entry in the following order: placing, number of points, artist, song title, how many people put the song first in their ranking, how many people put the song last in their ranking.
01 50 Maruv — Focus on Me (6 first, 3 last) 02 51 Riya — Polyusi (3 first, 1 last) 03 53 Max Barskih — Berega (1 first, 2 last) 04 59 Jamala — Samğa (2 first, 2 last) 05 60 Monatik — Gluboko (2 first, 2 last) 06 62 Monatik — Zašivaet Dušu (0 first, 0 last) 07 72 Jamala — The Great Pretender (1 first, 5 last)
Therefore, we can proudly say: Hello Anna, Hello Maruv, welcome to Algiers!
Welcome to the Ukrainian national final for @tmblrvision 2019!
Unlike the EBU counterpart, we are fully committed to participating. All the rules and such are in the link, so go ahead and vote!
Deadline for voting in the semifinal: 25 July 2019 (after 12pm CET but don’t risk it and vote sooner!)

You know a few different times I’ve been asked what my biggest regret in life is and I usually say “I don’t know” but that’s a lie. A fat lie. My biggest regret is one time in 7th grade I broke a glowstick and drew a heart with Sasuke’s name in it on my bedroom wall but if that’s not bad enough you know glowsticks usually fade after a day, right? Well not this one- this one stained the wall so even at a grown ass adult there’s Sasuke’s name in a goddamn giant ass heart on my wall as erasable as the shame in my heart.

Stu, let me ask you a question: how did you not realize until then that you had too many eggs? Nobody sells eggs in a big cloth-covered basket, so you must have done that yourself. That means you spent god-knows-how-long opening up twelve whole cartons of eggs, carefully placing each egg one-by-one inside a big basket, and then covering it with a big picnic cloth… and at no point- at no point- did you ever stop and think “gee, there might be TOO MANY FUCKING EGGS HERE”
You really have lost control of your life.

uhhhh no offense but think about what you say to kids because like… when I was a kid all I heard was my friends saying “no one wants to hear you sing shut up” until fifth grade I was singing under my breath “we will rock you” by KISS because I had one of those toothtunes toothbrushes that played it and my teacher stopped me and was like… do that again. And I thought I was in trouble because no one wanted to hear me sing so I didn’t at first but she kinda coaxed me into it and once I sang it she was like “that’s good! That’s actually really good, sorry, I’m a little surprised! Wow!” And it literally changed my whole life I immediately ran off to try and join the talent show (I was too late) and I did honor choir and joined choir in 6th grade and here I am now, doing a bachelors in music education with an emphasis in voice, and looking at doing my masters in musical theater performance. I owe literally everything to the fact that my 5th grade math/homeroom teacher stopped me and made me sing a little for her and took that time to tell me that I was good at it. That was a 2 minute interaction that I doubt she even remembers but it literally changed my entire life.
tl;dr: the things you say can have the most profound effect on a kids life. Think about what you’re saying the next time you tell a kid something. You never know if that 30 second interaction is going to affect their life forever, so why not make it a good one, huh?

every semester, without fail, there’s some freshman who’s like “oh I never check my email lol” and i get worried for them, bc they’re going to miss some important email about a pop quiz or a test, or something and then fail. so if you’re a freshman reading this, CHECK YOUR EMAIL im not joking, professors will send you stuff via email that they’ll never mention in class. I’m in my email every hour on the hour before and after class. check that shit. put that app on ur phone, turn on notifs, go in and refresh every hour, check your spam, check your email
this has been a message from your concerned dad. check ur email, do well in school, i love you

Hello again and welcome to the results post of Let’s Talk About Amir!
Let us first look at the results for Phase I:
As you can see above, États d’amour won Phase I, with Que seront les hommes? and L’impasse jointly following behind. Therefore, Anja was the wildcard qualifier.
However, was this reflected in Phase II?
Let’s take a look at how the 9 voters submitted their points in Phase II, voters being in the order they submitted:
Anja has appeared to gain popularity, while the opposite is true for L’impasse. However, the top 2 remain intact. Therefore...
Amir will represent France at the 2018 @tmblrvision Song Contest with États d’amour!
youtube
Good luck to Amir, and may he do well in Tel Aviv!
Welcome to the French national preselection for the 2018 Tmblrvision Song Contest!
This year, France has internally selected Amir Haddad to compete in @tmblrvision, and he will sing all the songs that are being contended for the international final. Seeing as he has recently released an album, Addictions, with 17 of the 18 songs in it being eligible, there appears to be no better time for him to make his country proud.
This national final will consist of 2 parts — Phase I and Phase II. In Phase I, all 17 eligible songs will be in the running. You will be able to choose which ones you want to see go through to Phase II. A number of these songs will advance, depending on the voting results.
17 songs does sound like a lot. Luckily, I’ve condensed them all into this recap, so you can still make your voice fully heard in this NF without as much time or effort. If you can’t view the video below click HERE, or go straight to the voting form as the video is linked there as well.
youtube
Once you’ve heard the songs, you can vote HERE.
The deadline is at some point on Thursday, July 26th 2018. The qualifiers will be announced soon after.
Enjoy!
