You stare into the water, then at your hand. A creeping feeling crawls up your back and tells you that you were never meant to be this. Your skin feels unnatural. The scales you now notice feel uncomfortable, feel so itchy and flaky.

You try not to look too much at your skin while you check the rest of your body, which proves impossible. There's fins on your arms and legs and maybe your back that cut through where you think the gaps in your bones are.
