I had a similar argument the other day about the way people treat street art, street fashion, street performances and the people who inhabit "the streets" about the big cities.

(And by the "streets", I mean places in the city that are not rich, privileged and white)

And everything that happens there is seen as a lesser form of art by a lot of people. Street art and tag is a lesser form of art. Street style (not the luxury ones, the real affordable ones) is not seen as a fashion choice. Street performances are looked down on. The homeless and "thugs" are dangerous and need to be taken care of….

It makes me think of that TikTok dude who goes to big European cities and criticize the way they look in some areas…. And I’m like…
