Hi!! me and my friend recently found this game and we both fell in love w it. Like we kept replaying to see different dialogues and stop, and our low-key obsessed with it, like how the art style changes with the mood and how dynamic Clyde and Fennel are, and how it has so much in the demo compared to made games !!
We tried to find more info about it, like seeing a fandom or trivia, but we found there was no wiki fandom :(. So I what I wanted to ask (with your permission ofc) is if we can create a page for it? I shared with my friends about it but they don't want to play more unless they have more info before downloading :(

im honored you want to make a wiki site for this project! you have my blessings, but...but, but, BUT! please keep in mind that this project is a work in progress, so certain things in the demo might not be canon anymore by the time the full game comes out.
The best way to get info on this game is through this devlog. i tried to keep everything organized to the best of my ability! Though a wiki is definitely more digestible
and im happy that youve enjoyed the game so far and im super happy to hear that youve replayed it several times! T_T ill be bringing everything ive learned from my side project into the full game, so you can expect a wider range of scenes and dialogue.
for instance, instead of choices being judged as 'good' or 'bad,' their consequences will depend on how youve shaped your relationships with the cast, yourself, your career, and a bunch of other factors. you can sabotage all of fennel's relationships if you want to, while still keeping him in a good mood and feeling optimistic about his career. fun!
the story is much more streamlined now after (painfully) cutting a lot of the fluff. that said, im able to say and do a lot more with it. depending on how fast or slow you can read, you can get a good 2-3 hours per playthrough.

quick update!
the writing for my side project is complete! mostly. of course, i need to proofread it...make sure everything flows well...the ending can be tighter but i will fix that while working on other things. im planning on redesigning the ui, and i still need to create assets + code minigames. this project is a lot shorter than introdemo but there's a lot more work involved! at least it feels like there is.
i also wanted to take some reference photos for this project, but im not sure if that will happen. so! plan B: visiting my friend, the public domain.
anyways, im really excited to share [name of side project here] with you guys...the dynamic between jaro, canyon, and yara will probably remind you of clyde, fennel, and bailey. well, ok, they will probably remind you of them a lot, but the differences are more noticeable. for instance, fennel and bailey are more of a push, while yara and canyon are more of a pull. canyon is yara's loyal guard dog and he might lunge at strangers unprovoked. whether she chooses to rein him in or let him loose is up to......yooooouuuu.

darcy is more straightforward now. he's shy, but he's more willing to express his thoughts when clyde is present.

the dialogue in the van scene focuses a lot more on bailey and fennel's relationship now. bailey encourages fennel to ignore the negativity rather than confront it. fennel is more accepting of her suggestions, even if he doesn't agree with them. i think it adds a bit more tension to their interactions. something is not clicking between them.

I want to discuss my other project again! This will be relevant to Introdemo, promise. Anyways...
Like Introdemo, the Other Project lets your choices shape your relationships with characters. However, it's much more nuanced: not only does your actions affect friendships and romance, your connection with your hometown plays a significant role.
Your mood also plays a key role, influencing your choices and emotional state. Your state of mind impacts the story just as much as your relationships.

(There are a few more variables involved but I don’t want to spoil anything - but they are the most fun variables in the game [they're environmental and psychological]).
And, also like Introdemo, I applied the same approach here. I want each playthrough to feel different for the player.

Though, this also got me thinking with ID...: what if Fennel has a strong relationship with Bailey but is in a bad mood? Or if their relationship is strained but he’s feeling great? How would that affect his interactions with others? Right now, everything is funneled into ‘good_points’ or ‘bad_points,’ which lacks nuance. Mood and relationships should influence behavior in a more layered way.

The good/bad point system has its benefits though. It simplifies tracking and it makes outcomes clear. In the survey, many players figured out what triggers positive or negative results, which is great. However, as the story progresses, I need something more nuanced than just 'good' or 'bad.' For example, Fennel's (lack of) trust in Clyde is crucial, and that can’t be captured with a simple point system.
I’m nearing the end of this new project (I was sick in December, so I’m a bit behind), but the process has been much smoother. In this new project, I’ve focused on streamlining mechanics and making emotional layers intentional, while keeping things simple. It’s a balance I’m still refining, but I’m hopeful these lessons I've learned will make the next phase for ID smoother. :)

FENNEL IS AWESOME!!!! How did he and yua get together?
they met early on in their careers. fennel was new to LA and his manager at the time showed him around the city to get a sense of the punk scene.
fennel had heard the buzz about yua and decided to check out her performance art show at a nightclub. they talked after her show and instantly clicked.
they didn’t become 'official' until much later.

I'm currently working on a new short project as a way to take a sorta-break from Introdemo and explore different storytelling formats. It's a Homestuck fan adventure with Discolike characteristics.

Progress on this project has been moving at a fast pace. I intentionally wrote it as a short story and set strict limitations for myself to keep it focused and concise. Tonally, it's very different than Introdemo. It's somber. Foggy. Gray. It's about a young woman in the fading town of Elowen who begins to unravel the forgotten truths of its haunted past, only to find that some secrets are better left buried.
Also, I accidentally recreated Fennel and Bailey. Kinda.

ANYWAYS. LET'S TALK ABOUT INTRODEMO.
I want to be transparent about the upcoming story changes for Introdemo so that no one is caught off guard when I release the demo again for the third or fourth time. While I initially said the story would stay the same, as I continued writing, it became clear that wasn't the case. I don't want to be working on this forever, so I've made some tough decisions.
I realized that I'm much more invested in the demon and contract storyline, and that's now the main focus. The most significant change is the removal of the murder mystery plotline. The serial SLAYer storyline will still play a crucial role (it's what kicks off the plot, after all!), though it won’t be the central focus anymore. Clyde and Fennel won't be focused on hunting them down. There's no time to play cops. They have a show to put on. And a show...they will put on!!!
Some characters are either being removed or having their roles scaled back. Fridge is gone for good (BYEEEE), while Val and Pine will have smaller roles. They weren't contributing meaningfully to the overall story, and with a smaller cast, the narrative feels easier to manage. Yua, on the other hand, will be brought more to the forefront, though she doesn't have a physical presence in the story’s present timeline.
I've mentioned this plenty of times before, but the love triangle is also gone. It was between Clyde, Darcy, and Diya. Now, it's just between Clyde and Diya (funny joke, Clyde, and, and Diya).

I don't want the romance to overshadow the plot. Instead, it's there to explore character dynamics and add tension. Yua's inclusion has the same purpose. I like to think of Bailey and Yua as the angel and devil on Fennel’s shoulders, respectively.
Also, I originally planned for the story to take place over the extended weekend (Thurs-Sun), but with the murder mystery plot now gone, it will take place over one very long day instead. I think this gives the story more urgency, especially towards the climax and end.
The POV changes will stay. I think you guys will REALLY enjoy Clyde's perspective... :-)

another thing that's being added is text bleeps! i personally like them in games (especially visual novels). they make the experience feel less empty. but i'll make it so you'll have the option to turn this off in the menu. here's an example of what that sounds like:

unlike the previous conversation, which centered on clyde’s former segment producer, claire, and fennel pointing out clyde’s use of "was", this one focuses on the dynamic between fennel and clyde. the hallway scene is supposed to establish that connection and show clyde’s desire to move on from the past and build a fresh rapport with fennel. meanwhile, fennel is stuck on correcting the past. the way this whole scene is written now does a much better job at showing that, without disrupting the flow of the conversation or adding too much exposition.
clyde is nicer now, and his intentions are more subtle. imo, that strengthens the question of whether he’s being genuine or just putting on a front.
