Anders' Hands Headcanons

Leave me alone, I know this is dumb, I'm just love him and my brain kind of obsesses real easy

Always cold

He'll use fire spells to warm them

The cold makes his bones ache

He washes them as much as he can, but the water in Darktown isn't really clean

His knuckles crack, both the joints and the skin from being dry

It hurts to pop his knuckles

All of his fingers are bent from being broken and healing wrong

He sleeps with his fingers curled

He wants to touch people but catches himself and doesn't make contact

When nervous/anxious he pinches the hem of his coat and rubs circles with his thumb

He bites at the skin around his nails until he bleeds when he dissociates

He scratches himself to bleeding, sometimes intentionally, when he panics or is upset with himself.

He strokes the length of his staff in order to calm himself down

When he does grab someone he does so with a loose grip before tightening

He cleans under his nails with whatever he can find

He likes to pet in long strokes over scratching

He has low stamina in gripping

He's never worn rings

They freckle fast

They're stained with ink and elfroot
