I just watched somebody watch Doctor Horrible on youtube (do not judge my cringe viewing choices) and I'm crying, this guy cannot understand the ending. He calls it "bizarre" and "doesn't get it". He kept talking about how Doctor Horrible should resurrect Penny with mad science and become a hero and watched the credits expecting a bonus scene with a true ending in it because he could not comprehend the extremely fitting and well-placed stock-standard tragic ending. Man does not comprehend the idea of a tragedy. You can dislike Dr Horrible's ending (if you have no taste) but how do you not understand it? It is. Such a comprehensible story. It is not subtle or twist heavy. There are zero points of confusion.

I just want to assure my younger followers that, yes, the lead up to Iraq was virtually identical and just as transparent and stupid in its attempts to manufacture consent in the general public.
AND IT WORKED. BOTH TIMES.

Democrats cannot win back working class voters by putting forth more corporate backed politicians. There's a better path forward. It's one paved by leaders like @zohrankmamdani who stand up to the oligarchy and fight to make life affordable for working people.

The son of a man who was brutalized by immigration authorities in Orange County, California, is speaking up after video of the incident went viral over the weekend.
The disturbing footage shows landscaper Narciso Barranco being pinned down and battered by a group of masked agents as he was picked up while working outside of a Santa Ana IHOP on Saturday.
At least a half-dozen men wearing gear identifying them as U.S. Border Patrol swarmed the man and beat him before forcing him into the back of an SUV.
Son Alejandro Barranco, a veteran of the U.S. Marines, told the Los Angeles Times his father was pepper sprayed and beaten, suffering a dislocated shoulder.
Alejandro Barranco said that he spoke to his father about 6 p.m. Sunday and was told that his dad had yet to receive medical treatment in the more than 24 hours after he was detained and sent to an immigration facility in Los Angeles.
Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to the Times that Narciso Barranco declined medical care. She also alleged that he swung a weed whacker at an agent and fought his arrest.
HuffPost also has reached out to Customs and Border Protection for comment.
Describing the agent’s actions as needlessly violent and excessive, Alejandro Barranco told the Times, “I don’t think it was just, I don’t think it was fair. I don’t think they need four 200 [pound]-plus guys to hold down a 5-6 or 5-7, 150-pound guy.”

okay now that we’ve a had couple lesbian blockbusters and milfs are having a romance moment, we need to bring back the manic pixie dream girl. she was never fuckin suited to fixing all the problems of some boring twenty year old everyman, but you know who could actually benefit from a quirky free-spirited blue haired girl with pronouns (she/they)? a newly divorced forty-something mom who’s trying to learn how to be herself for the first time in her life

They detain his legally in the country wife, and he still brags about wasting his money to the point of getting an invite to the '16 inauguration?!?
A man who supports President Donald Trump has told Newsweek that he still backs the Republican leader even after federal agents detained his wife.
David Prine, 51, a disabled United States Marine Corps veteran and current Social Services representative at the VA's National Call Center for Homeless Veterans, exclusively spoke with Newsweek about his wife's detention.
Yenifer Correa Ganan, 35, entered the U.S. legally under the CBP One parole program in January 2024, fleeing violence in Colombia with her daughter Ana Maria, according to David. She worked at UPS and later at Virginia Tech.
"I supported President Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024. I donated almost all my net income in 2015 to his campaign, earning an inaugural invite," Prine told Newsweek.

I work retail, and have for many years now. I'm not an easily fazed person and have a Talk No Shit, Take No Shit mentality. However, I also have a pretty intense anxiety disorder on top of other mental health issues and when I started 6+ years ago there were some customers who got to me.
So, to all the workers facing Karens and Kens out in the wild, here's my advice - cry.
If you have the type of relationships with your coworkers and managers that will support you, don't try to hold it in. Cry like the overworked, underpaid peon you are.
Nothing terrifies an asshole Karen like the indisputable proof that their actions/words are affecting you as a real live person. They feel perfectly entitled to cuss out a cashier over a wrong order/no cash policy/ face mask mandate but when that person starts to cry and asks them why they'd say such mean things? A whole other story, my friend.
There's no way to make that situation look good to the manager they demanded to speak with, either. My manager literally got a security guard fired for being so verbally abusive he made one of her employees cry.
This strategy has multiple benefits -
1. You're not standing there trying to pen up your emotions, crying is a great physical release for negative emotions and you may very well feel somewhat better afterwards.
2. The person who precipitated the situation is forced to not only see you as a person with feelings, but also has to confront the fact that their abuse has consequences beyond themselves.
3. It can actually give your higher-ups leverage to address these situations. 'They yelled at my employee' is one thing, but 'They yelled at my employee until they were in tears' is a waaaaay worse offense. A good manager can use that. Hell, it can get a security guard fired!
tl;dr: We live in a capitalist hell but we can work the system and cry at work to shame awful customers

Anyone else think that any other president made a "faith office" it would be a representation of all faiths found in the US and trying to find ways for them to relate better to each other?
Meanwhile Dumpy's is just evangelical bought n paid for nonsense.
A stunning viral video shows a group praying and speaking in tongues on the White House grounds at an event hosted by the Trump Faith Office.
The clip — which went viral when it was posted by the “Patriot Takes” X/Twitter account — appears to be shot through a pinhole camera, and shows a woman leading a group in prayer on the grounds between the West Wing and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
