Abusive girls exist and what they’re doing is seen as like “badass tough don’t take no shit” but your girl should not hit you. Ever.

She should not demand for you to hand over your phone to look through.

She should not yell at you and humiliate you either alone or in front of people.

She shouldn’t make you distance yourself from your friends or family.

She shouldn’t scratch you or twist your arms.

She should not call you names.

She shouldn’t tell you ‘she’ll kill herself if you break up’

These are just a few examples of abuse and it’s just seen as okay when girls do it and god knows I’ve fallen victim to it a few times, but you shouldn’t have to.

Never worry about not being in a relationship. If they’re worth it, they won’t hurt you.

No one has the right to hurt you.

i can't express how absolutely important it is that when you make an edgy, brooding, badass character who's tough as nails and good at fighting and whatever, you HAVE to give them at least one reason to become completely helpless and pathetic. you have a panic attack quota to fulfill.

house md waffle house au. cameron keeps getting trapped into sob stories from drunk customers and then she gets in trouble for giving them discounts. chase jumps the counter to punch out a customer at least once per week. foreman is insane on the grill and gets offended when people complain about the food or send it back. thirteen is doing cocaine in the only bathroom stall but shes so good at making omelettes that they never fire her. none of them have health insurance.

Seriously this chapter is longer than I thought the fic would be, because every scene ended up being more complex than I thought, so it needed more thought, more dialogue, and of course, more flashbacks and metaphors.

Fic summary:

Everyone loves being appreciated, but that is not why Wilson never says no to whatever request is asked of him. He does it because he likes needy people, or something. He does it because he is genuinely a good person, or because he likes staying all night to monitor a patient, or because it's the right thing to do...or because it just doesn't matter if he's exhausted the next day. He's just Wilson. So it's okay. Caring is Wilson's job, his way of earning attention or affection. He dedicates himself to caring for others and they make him feel like he deserves to exist, at least for a little while. It's been like that since he was a kid, when his parents told him it was his responsibility, his "chore," to take care of Danny. From then on, he was the carer, not the cared for. Great. You understand. Everything is normal. Wilson is just doing what he always does. It doesn't matter if he's tired, or breaking. His family was normal. This case is normal. He doesn't have problems. There is no story here. He's....he's fine.

This is definitely going to be a tomorrow morning thing. I no longer have the executive functioning to work out all the notes and formatting, least of all respond to previous comments.

This chapter now might be longer than I expected the whole fic to be when I asked if I should chapter it. So. That's interesting. At least you know in return for one day of waiting you will get like 10k words more than expected. It is a direct result because these scenes becoming So Much and So Long is why everything is not fully tied up. The Fanfic Brain possessed me.
