Rachel, these people aren't just rich, okay. They're crazy rich. Look, there's new money all over Asia. We got the Beijing Billionaires, the Taiwan Tycoons. But the Young family, they're old money rich. They had money when they left China in the 1800s. And they went all the way down here. Not there. Here. They came to Singapore when there was nothing but jungle and pig farmers. There was a snake here, eating an apple. You know what I mean? And they built all of this. Now, they're the landlords of the most expensive city in the world.

NASCAR just got a whole lot more stylish.
Luxury vintage brand Chérie Picked, founded by finance darling and fashion tastemaker Araminta Zhenyi Young, has officially announced a multi-race sponsorship deal with Hunter Dale Jr., the fiery #8 Budweiser Chevrolet driver known as much for his grit on the track as his off-track skirmishes—including one notably recent bar fight.
The brand’s logo—typically seen on silk tags inside vintage Dior and Céline—will now adorn the driver’s side door and firesuit sleeve of Dale’s car, starting at the Michigan International Speedway night race this upcoming weekend.
Sources close to the deal describe the move as “unexpected but genius.” capitalizing on the cross-section of retro Americana, motorsport culture, and a not-so-subtle middle finger to Araminta’s ex-fiancé, Tyler Hastings, who infamously threw a punch (and caught one back) from Hunter in a Dallas bar just weeks ago.
While Hastings has yet to make a public comment, insiders suggest “he’s fuming.”
The Chérie Picked x Hunter Dale Jr. partnership will reportedly include a limited capsule collection inspired by vintage pit crew jackets, ‘90s race merch, and trackside glamour—all curated by Araminta herself. Expect fast sell-outs and faster laps.

❛ 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐝 .ᐟ 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑧𝑧𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑙𝑎𝑑𝑦 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 .ᐟ ❜
𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : bel air, los angeles, california——a private gala at a palatial estate with too many fountains and not enough parking 𝐥𝐨𝐤 : floor—length vintage versace ﹙ fall ‘91 ﹚ , hair down, bvlgari serpenti set. 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞 : in—hand, bloomberg open. focused.
𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐀 hadn’t planned on attending.
she had a position to monitor——$nblux, a once—darling e—comm juggernaut, had just tanked earnings after market close. she’d been circling it for days, and tonight was the drop. the kind of technical breakdown that made her fingers twitch. her bloomberg app open, limit orders waiting, trade alerts pinging with seductive urgency.
but margaux had insisted.
‘ they’re serving comtes 2008. there’s an auction. come in vintage. behave badly. ’
the dress code was ‘ quiet philanthropy ’ which really meant diamond brooches and lip fillers. araminta wore vintage versace and contempt in equal measure. she had stilettos sharp enough to count as weapons and a clutch that weighed more than most of the trust funders’ portfolios.
she lingered by the marble—topped bar, phone in hand, drink untouched. her eyes locked on the chart. she was watching for a clean break below $138. volume surging. it was going to hit. she could feel it.
short : 30,000 shares at $138.75. stop loss at $145. target $120. projected gain: approx. $4.04m.
she didn’t hear most of the auction. there’d been mention of a rare vintage porsche, a set of james hunt’s gloves, a track experience. she barely registered it.
until margaux nudged her. “minta. bid.”
araminta didn’t even glance up. she raised her paddle, still reading the tape. the order book was shifting. her thumb hovered over the execution button.
the room quieted. then——
“sold! to the dazzling lady at the back!”
applause. laughter.
she blinked. looked up. a spotlight hit her. she lowered her phone slowly.
“. . . what did i just buy?”
diana leaned over with a wicked smile. “the car.”
margaux sipped her champagne, smug. “and the driver. the fast one. you’ll like him.”
across the ballroom, the ‘ fast one ’ was already heading her way. confident, tan, smirking. black suit, open collar, curls that didn’t quite obey. he walked like he knew people watched him walk——and didn’t mind one bit.
“hi.” he said when he reached her. his voice was warm, casual, with just enough to flirt. “i’m pato.”
araminta stared at him, expression unreadable. “is this the part where you ask for my license and registration?”
he chuckled. “no, this is the part where you realize you just bid a lot of money for me to drive you around a track at 220 mph.”
her eyes narrowed slightly. “i thought i was bidding on the car.”
“you get both.” he said with a shrug. “lucky night.”
she took a slow sip of her martini. “pity. i was hoping to flip it for profit.”
“you still might.” he said. “depends how we handle the corners.”
before she could reply, her phone buzzed again. she glanced down.
$nblux broke support. hard. price: $134.01 → $128.55 in seconds. and dropping.
her smirk returned. “i just made over four million dollars while you flirted with me. that’s a better roi than i expected from this event.”
pato raised his eyebrows. “damn. should i be scared?”
“definitely.”

𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐳𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐢 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 had a way of entering a room that made people pause — not because she demanded attention, but because she looked like she already owned the building.
born in california but made of singaporean silk and old money steel, araminta was the kind of woman whose presence felt 𝑟𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑑. she grew up behind ivy—draped gates in atherton, the only daughter of a private equity titan and a tech-world oracle, raised between ski lodges in gstaad and mandarin lessons at the kitchen table. her childhood came with private museum tours, first-name rsvps to couture fittings, and summer internships in firms where everyone reported to someone who reported to her father.
she graduated top of her class from wharton—finance major, law minor, early offers from the firms you never see on linkedin. now, she worked in an office you couldn’t locate on google maps, advising names you’d only find in the footnotes of global financial disclosures. no one quite knew what she did, but she did it impeccably—and very, very quietly.
online, araminta lived a parallel life to millions of social media followers, she was a dream in archival alaïa, vintage patek, and high—slit khaite. a single photo from her was enough to sell out a niche parisian label. but behind the muted filters and cashmere captions, no one knew her real circle, her real moves, or the real reason she was always in a different country every week.
she was the whisper before the headline. the last girl to leave the party—and the only one no one could afford to forget.
