While Isaac was calmly in his mother's arms, Catherine was wiggling in Nathan's arms, not because he was not strong enough to carry his own daughter, but rather because their older child had the energy of a full classroom of kids. Nathan himself sometimes could barely keep up with her, and he often wondered how Lacey managed to do so beautifully. After a couple of minutes, he ended up releasing Catherine, putting her back down, as he couldn't help but laugh. "Careful, Cathy." His words fell on deaf ears, as he watched Catherine almost dash out of the house, heading straight to the car.

With a defeated sigh, and an amused smile, he turned to Lacey once again. "Please tell me you were like this when you were a child." Nathan pressed another kiss to her cheek, before he did the same to Isaac's top of his head. "You'll be delighted to find out I'm wearing plain white trainers." He added with an easy laughter. Lacey really did know him best, even better than himself most of the time. "Thank you, darling. For thinking of everything." As her hand reached out for his, he gave it a gentle squeeze first before beginning to head out as well. "Just us today." He promised.

Lacey breathed out a frustrated sigh once their bedroom door shut. Some days it was nearly impossible to keep herself calm. Trying this again meant everything to her, but, sometimes, he made it so damn impossible. She knew better than to let her anger overtake her during those moments. A few tears slipped down her cheeks, and she hastily wiped them away. She didn't date to let him see her like that. Not now.

Lips pressed to Isaac's temple, and her son giggled with his hand over his mouth. Just a few weeks ago, looking at Isaac was so painful. Every subtle feature was a stark reminder of the man she thought no longer loved her. How wrong she had been. A smile returned at the feeling of Nathan's lips against her cheek. "I've learned what casual is for you. I still think it's your best look." She traced her hand down the front of his shirt. The tension that laced his voice when he spoke about work was now gone. He was the man she fell in love with all those years ago. "They're already in the car. Figured you might suggest that." A hand reached out for his. "Let's get out of here. Just pretend it's just us and nothing else."

"Well, yeah." He spoke as a matter-of-factly. "I thought that was a given when you got involved with me. Making a lot of mistakes is default in my system, I'm afraid." Thomas didn't want to come across as an asshole, but he could never help the mild disregard in his tone when confronted in this kind of situation. "It's supposed to be fun, Rarity. No need to be like who did this, or who did that, right?"

"I know, I know." She repeated, sounding genuinely apologetic. "But I'm here now, so it's the thought that counts?" Emily simply smiled widely, as bubbly as she always was. "You know I'm forgetful, Pey. Very forgetful."

A sense of relief washed over her at the gentleness of his hands cradling her face. She'd been running around, busy and stressed out, and seeing Noah after a very long day at university was exactly what she needed. "I know, I'm sorry..." Charlotte quickly apologized. "I have finals coming up soon, and papers to hand in..." She then apologized again and again until she paused mid apologizing when she felt his thumbs so softly caressing her cheek. That was when Charlotte took a deep breath, a coy smile forming on her lips and her hands coming up to rest on his. "I missed you too, Noah. Very much... I hope your day was better than mine."

Soft hands gently brushed Charlotte's hair out of her face. "I feel like I haven't seen you all day," he said, hands cradling her face gently as a small smile crept onto his lips. His eyes shut momentarily and his thumb caressed her cheek before he was finally looking at her again. There was always relief in being around her. "I missed you."

"I think being around actors on set has taught me to pretend to seem relaxed," he said with a smile, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly before he gasped in mild surprise. "I don't do either of those!" His smile turned into a light laughter, keeping his eyes on Akemi. "I am loud though. Come on, Emi!" He almost whined. "It's our favourite day of the week, also known as me taking you to watch a surprise movie. You've been working on that thing for hours now. Please?"
