yknow, not to be old man yelling at cloud or anything, but do yall remember the ship war?

I hope everyone who ever participated in that knows how stupid it was. Like I hope you all look back at it and realize how damaging it was to the fan experience, and how much it may have even affected the show’s very existence.

I don’t exempt myself from my own behavior, I know I participated in it actively. But I was also a teenager at the time, being influenced by adults at least 10-20 years older than I was, being told I was doing the right thing, and even being shamed for expressing my concern with the severity of how things began to escalate.

It’s taken years of rewatching this show to deprogram my brain and watch it like a normal person. to tell myself I’m allowed to like the scenes where the other ship kisses. To tell myself I don’t have to justify every single abhorrent action my favorite character makes - after all, that’s why he became my favorite in the first place, because the way he walks on the line of good and bad is what fascinated me in the first place.

If this show ever comes back again, and I hope it does, I pray we don’t get a repeat of that. There’s a big difference between lighthearted rivalry and opposing forces. One is a game. The other is not.

And most of all, and maybe the most controversially of all, I hope that those involved in the show who were aware it was all happening does not encourage it again. It would have meant the world for someone, anyone to just make some sort of statement of “it does not matter who you ship. You are a fan nonetheless. Now stop fighting and enjoy the show.” You don’t even need to tell us what’s intentional and what isn’t, what’s just an acting choice and what’s actually on the page, that “this was always the plan” or “this was never the plan”. Just say “thanks for enjoying the show.” And be done with it.

Art being subjective shouldn’t be a controversial take, and people should be allowed to like what they like in peace, without someone’s unwarranted opinion, and most of all without fear.

hey, I know I don’t post on here a lot anymore so idk if this is going to be seen at all but I need to say something:

Please stop making AI manips of Garcy (or any of the characters, or any tv show/media for that matter)

I know it’s fun and exciting to see moments we never got to see lived out, but it’s actually extremely harmful and a HUGE breach of consent.

Those clips look realistic, and yes it’s in the context of the show, but the actors did not film that nor did they give consent for accurate likenesses of themselves to be portrayed online doing that. Fan art and Photoshop manips are one thing. Using AI to create the real deal is another.

This isn’t meant to attack anyone nor is my intent to spread ill will. I’m simply just looking to educate on how something like this shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Two of my favourite female characters were portrayed by Annie: Reneé Walker (24), and Emma Whitmore (Timeless). Season 1 Episode 4

- no shade just facts but this is the first time of many that someone turns to Wyatt and reminds him Lucy is a capable young woman who doesn’t always need help (this is about the scene where Ian Fleming tells Wyatt he’s only taking Lucy to Castle Valar with him)

- how did Wyatt and Rufus even see Lucy and Fleming from their binoculars there isn’t even a window where they’re standing omg

- I didn’t realize just how many Garcy gifs come from this episode alone…and they only talk for like, what 2 mins? That’s impressive y’all

- Wyatt and Rufus fangirling over James Bond will never not be hilarious

Day 3 of rewatching timeless with the fam and things I’m noticing for the first time

Season 1 episode 3

- someone remind me again why Wyatt thinks the telegram message he sends to Jessica is even going to work lol

- speaking of which, they really show the old actress for Jessica a lot here, I still wonder what happened that they had to recast (not to say that I don’t love Tonya, because I do <3)

- i just realized the show has never established whether the time team is provided with money when they take trips. They keep buying things on trips so they obviously have money (period appropriate money) on them, but they never actually acknowledge it haha

- How anyone doesn’t see Lucy as bi is beyond me

Day 2 of rewatching Timeless with my family (I didn’t really notice anything new this time so it’s just more my reactions than anything)

Season 1 Ep 2

- I couldn’t stop laughing during the train scene (Flynn: “we really have to stop meeting like this…”) because all I can think about is the Watergate conversation where Flynn goes “What else haven’t you told them about us?” like they’re in some secret scandalous relationship

- I WILL NEVER GET OVER THE LOOK OF PANIC FLYNN GETS ON HIS FACE WHEN HE SEES LUCY IN LINCOLN’S BOX

- Damn the scene where Lucy figures out her “father” isn’t her biological father still hits so hard

Bonus:

- my aunt and I got into a (joking) argument about why Flynn is my favorite character/why I ship Garcy and the absolute best line from the entire “argument” (presented with no context) was when I said the words “I mean, yes, he kills people, but it’s not his entire personality”

so it appears my family has agreed to rewatch timeless so welcome to tiny details that iris is noticing for the first time

Season 1 Episode 1

- crap idk why this took me so long to get but when Anthony tells Rufus to go with Jiya to pick up tacos for taco Tuesday…he was trying to get Rufus to leave…he was trying to make sure he wasn’t there when Flynn arrived…wow I’m sad

- Flynn speaks in one word/extremely short sentences for the entire episode except when he finally talks to Lucy, which from a writing perspective makes him even more mysterious and leaves the audience wondering what’s going on inside his head. It makes his talk with Lucy all the more powerful, especially since he subverts expectations by trying to get Lucy on his side

- when Lucy answers her phone at the very end of the scene where she discovers AMY doesn’t exist, she doesn’t actually answer the phone, all of the shots where we see her phone screen it still shows the “slide to answer” icon lollll
