I think about how Leon likely didn't get a proper education given he was probably neglected by his parents (because Hop's canonically neglected and I don't personally believe they treated Leon well either until he became champion, considering Leon had to raise Hop.) while also raising a child and running the government at ten years old and then I get a little rat in my ear trying to say "HUR HUR LEON DUMB HIMBO WHO CAN'T SPELL HIS OWN NAME" and i'm LIKE-

I do personally headcanon that his reading and spelling are behind the curve because again he couldn't get a real education but that is NOT the same as saying "big dumb baby who can't read" HE'S A FUCKING POLITICIAN HE'S NOT THAT FUCKING PATHETIC OKAY

He's not the brightest because he's never had a normal human interaction, not because BIG DUMB HIMBO BABU TWINK.
