     lin is very frugal with her money. despite the large inheritance left to toph && her daughters when her grandparents passed away, lin doesn’t like to spend money on frivolous things. a third of her portion of the inheritance was tucked immediately into a savings account, && the rest was dived up among various charities in the city. she also pulls about 15% to 20% of her check immediately when received && donates it to various schools && charities. in her time as chief of police, as a side project, lin has helped create two scholarship programs. one is targeted at disadvantaged benders, helping fund their education && training to master their skills. the other targets single-parent households, helping to fund the education of all children ( bender && non-bender ) in the hopes of bettering their lives && keeping children off the streets.

        a faint smile etched its way cross the creases of her worn face, idle fingers tapping against the cool metal of her uniform. the question was a loaded one, with various relationships && long distances to be taken into account. kya, at least, was often traveling or in the southern water tribe. bumi, however annoying she found him at times, was close by –––––––– along with tenzin, of course. izumi . . . a different situation all together. the princess was often just out of her reach in the fire nation . . . but that barrier only presented itself as the children grew into adults.                                           almost as soon as it appeared, the smile vanished.
