A Dumb Post about things I've learned because of tumblr
1. Star signs are not a way to tell someone you don't like them. 2. Obsessive use of trigger warnings are insulting to people who actually need them. 3. You don't have to be friends with someone because they're a "mutual". 4. Some people will just not like you and will find whatever reason they can to justify it. I've been told I'm too mean and too babying by the same person. 5. Building your social identity around Tumblr will fuck you up and make you way too cynical. 6. Holy victimizing batman! 7. Being proud of how you look and who you are is not an excuse for being self-absorbed. 8. Internet friends get to pick and choose what they say to you and how they act around you much easier than in real life. 9. Age doesn't equal maturity but it sure as hell is a great indicator. 10. I had a friendship with someone who would constantly talk shit about people and then act like nothing happened. If you said the wrong thing you were ignored or bad mouthed for a week. Or randomly deleted from social media. It was toxic. Constantly trying to make that person feel better then called babying and selfish is not a friendship. And I'm positive many of you know someone like this either online or irl. So maybe my best piece of advice is to move past it. If someone is losing all their friends and you notice them making you out to be a bad person, move on. I cut three people out of my life within two months (one from tumblr) and have gained more confidence and friends because of it. And if you're the one who is losing friends, you either had shitty friends to begin with, you expect too much, or are the shitty friend. Stop letting people both on and off this site passively try to control who you are. We are all trying to figure out what's going on with ourselves. When someone makes you feel like you aren't living up to their expectations then it's time to move on. We all have problems but being depressed or angry doesn't justify being cruel.
#I only posted this because I graduated and wanted to distance myself further from this blog#goal was not to make anyone feel like shit#but some people really need a wake up call
