Finished up two scarves today for a couple that I am friends with. This is called " The Everyman Scarf" in the pattern and I linked the pattern below. I added the fringe on my own and think it compliments the scarves nicely. I look forward to presenting these later on today.

Update: The little guy loved the scarf, but it was curling badly. I wet blocked it out, and now it is laying much nicer than it was before. I love how this technique makes a neat design on both sides of the project.

All done with this rainbow scarf for my little man! I used the Tunisian purl stitch, and I love the texture of this piece. I noticed that the scarf wants to curl a bit, so if I want to correct it I will have to block it out. Overall I love it and I know my little guy is gonna love it as well.

Getting a weird little hobby is actually so important bc it opens your eyes up to the world. You start crocheting or knitting, and how you see scarves and sweaters differently. You try identifying plants, now you鈥檙e seeing opposite and alternate leaf pattern. Bird watching? Every chirp draws attention and interest.
Get into weird little hobbies.

Hello, I'm also in the SCA.... But I would love to know where you get/found your patterns. I'm also doing Italian but finding it hard to find patterns. Any help would be most helpful.
Hi! 聽
I drafted my own patterns with help and research from some sites:
Even though it鈥檚 Elizabethan not Italian the bodice patterns here are a good jumping off point, especially if you are planning on doing a later more constructed style. 聽
http://www.elizabethancostume.net/kirtlepat/index.html
For earlier softer styles Festive Attire鈥檚 Florentine gown dress diary is invaluable:
http://www.festiveattyre.com/p/diary-of-1480s-florentine-gown.html
And I haven鈥檛 tried it yet but I really like the looks of these tutorials for bust supporting gowns (or bodices):
http://cottesimple.com/tutorials/straight-front-seam/
http://cottesimple.com/tutorials/curved-front-seam/
And if it鈥檚 helpful here is a photo of my most recent florentine gown pattern. 聽The new alterations are marked in purple (blue?) and the original pattern is in the pencil.

Made a second attempt with the circle vest, and I like this way better because I am still using #4 weight yarn for this project. I dropped more rows, used a way bigger hook size, added a hood, and simplified the lacy pyramid trim into a cute heart trim instead. I was definitely inspired by the pattern, but nothing like it at the same time. I'm still debating if I want to add sleeves and fringe for extra flare. I will for sure make a belt for this so it remains closed in the front when I want it to be shut, but overall I like how this vest turned out.

This was my first attempt at a circle vest. I followed this pattern to a degree but had to drop a lot of rows and change hook size to make it work. I only had #4 weight yarn available to me, and I wasn't ready to buy properly weighted yarn until I tested the pattern. It turned out nice, but it is really bulky.

Made this purse for my daughter using the linked pattern for reference. I made the purse bigger than what the pattern makes, and it turned our great imo. My daughter absolutely loves the bag as well.

Hubby brought home a cute runner with iris appliqu茅s around the border. I decided to reverse engineer the pattern, and now I have a pattern for these cuties. Might use this pattern to make a garland for our holiday tree for spring decor. I will consider getting around to writing the pattern down on this post so others can use it if there are folks who are interested in making these themselves.

Starting to learn Tunisian crochet and I am making a scarf for my son as practice. This is all Tunisian purl stitch and I think it is really cool how both sides look very different, but both sides still manage to look nice.
