I got pulled in by my supervisor partially because someone told on me for being late to the afternoon clinic over an hour. Mind you, my coworker and I were locked out and no one told us they were locking the office for lunch since we rarely do that. I also notified my supervisor when it was clear I wouldn’t be on time. But I still got pulled into a meeting.

Look, when he's in his bag absolutely nobody does it like Brandon Flowers.
"This church of mine may not be recognised by steeple
But that doesn't mean that I will walk without a God
Rolling River of Truth, can you spare me a sip?
The Holy fountain of youth has been reduced to a drip
But I've got this burning belief in salvation and love
This notion may be naive, but when push comes to shove
I will till this ground
You know you're gonna hurt somebody tonight
Out on the wire
And I might not get there
But this little town, this little house
They seem to be leaning in the wrong direction
And I'm not afraid of you no more"

Sometimes I think about getting a second job so I can pay down student loans a bit faster and save money for school, trip, car, etc. but then I remember I barely make it through a regular work day. That’s including the days that are laid back 😟

big fan of a good shit-eating grin. like a ruckus-causing, pot-stirring type of grin. a smile that truly fucks around and finds out. anyway

Hitching Post Wedding Chapel, 1941. This is the chapel's original location, 512 South 5th (Las Vegas Blvd).
(Caption) Wedding chapel in Las Vegas - This is one of the numerous spots where weddings are performed in Las Vegas, Nev. All these bureaus or chapels operate on 24-hour a day schedule. Associated Press Photo, 6/5/1941.
Photos of Hitching Post Wedding Chapel
Hitching Post opened at 512 South 5th, directly across the street from The Wedding Chapel, the first dedicated, 24-hour chapel business in Las Vegas. Mr. & Mrs. Halley Stewart operated Hitching Post. Little is known of the original location and the opening date is unclear. The first newspaper record of the chapel is the wedding of actors Robert Preston and Catherine Craig on 11/9/40.
The second location of Hitching Post opened circa '47/48 in a former home at 226 South 5th (Las Vegas Blvd). The bungalow, built in '23, was the home of James & Alice Passno. When US Highway 91 opened in the 20s, using South 5th St as the road into town from the south, several residences on the road converted to business catering to tourism. After Mr. Passno died the home was being used as a restaurant business called The Bungalow.
Hitching Post at 226 South 5th St was owned by Phil Cummings, and operated by the Cummings family. It was one of the most-photographed chapels in downtown Las Vegas, along with Wee Kirk chapel located across the street, and Gretna Green. All three of them were in converted homes. In the 50s all three of them added steeple architecture to the top of their buildings.
I had a shotgun wedding there ... we had a recording of the event long lost. Someone was cooking in the kitchen and you could hear the pots and pans on the recording. - Sylvia Karol to Vintage Las Vegas, 2025.
By the late 80s, Hitching Post was owned by Marie Teresa Kaluzna. She closed the chapel after Valentine's Day '95, and reopened at Hitching Post's third and final location at Oasis Motel.
