History Is All You Left Me
Rating: 3/5
This book had a lot of potential going in but somewhere in the middle it fell flat. The constant self sabotaging behaviour of the MC was enough to put me off.
The theme of this book was grieving someone's loss and it could have been used in a beautiful way but sadly, it felt flat.
I didn't much care for the characters either. the story just felt too prolonging and it didn't look like it was going anywhere.
I really loved More Happy Than Not, but this book was a real disappointment for me.

RATING: 2/5 REVIEW: Wow. i don't know what the point of this book was. it was interesting and had some interesting things to say but it was way too lengthy for my taste. I finally got around to finishing it and I'm glad for that. but this is a book I wouldn't be picking up again.

RATING: 3/5 REVIEW: I'm gonna read it again. I believe I'll learn something more and different the next time around. Since I've read a lot of dystopian classics books, this one didn't stand out much. I was getting major 1984 vibes but 1984 was portrayed so much better. 1984 was simply written but brilliant. This one was difficult to understand. There were still some pretty cool stuff. But yeah, I really wanted to DNF it so many times. This was an okay/slightly below average read for me.

RATING: 5/5 REVIEW: I'm in love with the way Suzanne writes. It's so raw and it makes everything so real and clear. It's so piercing. Peeta is bae. and I love love love Peeta and Katniss. They're perfect. This book had so many gut wrenching and heart twisting moments. It killed me. It was sooooo good. I really loved this one. Except for the last chapter, there is nothing that I didn't love about this book. It was perfect. The last chapter felt hurried up and written in haste. It was underwhelming. I wish the ending had been more elaborate. But eh. I'll take it. I loved this book. i do.

RATING: 4/5 REVIEW: My first book of the famous V. schwab and I have to say that I wasn't disappointed. Building up of the fantasy world was amazing and it was definitely an interesting concept. The plot in itself was great. I loved the characters. They were interesting and unique. It was a great book and I totally intend to read the sequel. I hope it's mind blowing. P.S. I kinda ship Lila and Rhy more than Lila and Kell. Oops?

RATING: 4/5 REVIEW: Wow. I really liked this one. It had soooo many short chapters and I love that. I love reading books that have short chapters. Amy Zhang did a great job with this one. It was her debut and I think it was great. I love the name of the book because it signifies something so beautiful and wonderful. I loved the characters but Liam was my favourite. I also loved the choice of the narrator. Wonderful. And I loved the ending. Great, great book. Loved it.

RATING: 3.5/5 REVIEW: I love love love Atticus Finch. He was perfection. The story is pretty ordinary but it shed light on many issues in a very subtle manner. I absolutely agreed with all the points raised in the novel. It was a beautiful, beautiful book with tons of amazing messages. It nailed good Parenting. And the issues with the Racism were enlightening. A great classic.

RATING: 1/5 REVIEW: This book was so slow and boring and exhausting. it's a wonder why I didn't DNF it. I probably should have. This sequel is nothing like its predecessors. It's a big load of disappointment. I didn't care about the characters. The story didn't seem to be going anywhere. It was just so dull and I was so indifferent about whatever that was happening. The chapters of Manon irritated me a lot. and God, this book was torture. And for sure, I'm not continuing with this series. But I do intend to give Maas' other books a chance. But sadly, Throne of Glass series ends for me here.

REVIEW:
This book started off really great. I loved the writing style. It was so easy to read because it just flowed. This is the kind of book that you can finish in one sitting because its writing style is not exhausting.
However, I’m sorry to say that there was no depth to the characters and that there was no plot whatsoever. Purple prose can only make the reader want to finish the book it can’t make the reader love it.
For the first few chapters, I was so sure that this would be a five star rating and that was solely based on the prose. But as the novel advanced, I felt cheated because there was a sudden drop in the purple prose and it was way too disappointing. It’s like the author only put purple prose in the first few chapters and just stopped making an effort once she was convinced that now the reader is at a point of no return. Hence, cheated. I felt cheated.
As for the plot, this is not dystopia. dystopia is supposed to be brilliant and mind blowing. This one was anything but.
The characters weren’t very likeable either. It was easy to like Juliette in the beginning because she’s scared and lonely and vulnerable and what not. But even as the plot advanced, she’s still the same person but a whole lot infuriating.
This novel was not subtle. Adam would keep on saying how Juliette is such a kind and a nice person but meh. I’m not saying that Juliette was cruel but we rarely get to see any of her so-called kindness. I’d like to think that the author needed to make Juliette a tiny bit desirable as Juliette has no personality whatsoever, so having Adam fall for her “kindness” felt like the way to go. Hence, two dimensional characters.
The ending wasn’t definitive so there was no kind of satisfaction. The ending was the beginning of the sequel and Trust me, I understand the purpose of cliff hangers and I love them too, myself. But endings like this one make me feel cheated and betrayed. If the book is pretty meh, most often than not the ending is supposed to be redeeming and mind blowing. but nope. No such thing.
The only good thing about this book was the 10 or 11 purple prose paragraphs. The rest was pretty much unnecessary and a waste of time.
Also, the why in this novel felt toooooooo prolonging for my taste. I really wanted to find out why Juliette is the way she is and blah blah. But the answer to that why was revealed waaaaaaaaayyyyyy too later and by that time I had almost lost interest. Also, the fact that the author prolonged that also made me feel like I was being cheated. And okay, even if she was prolonging, it would have been if she did have some mind blowing answer to the why. But nope. Nope. Nope. God. This novel fell so flat. It's like making the readers wait a whole lot for a big fat nothing. It wasn't even worth the wait. God. Terrible.
1.5 is also pretty generous for a book like this one.

RATING: 4/5 REVIEW: Um, I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with the ending. It was kind of underwhelming. Liane has created a very realistic novel. Her characters are so strong and unique. And it was a pleasure getting to know them. I couldn't decide who was my favourite character. All of them were equally beautiful. Liane throws light on some of the issues faced by us in today's society. She stands up against misogyny and sexism. And the way she did it was very clever. She was never vague or subtle about it, but it was obviously related to the story line and that's why I say clever. I had so much fun reading it. It just flowed and it was easy to get through it. I just wished the ending had been more satisfying. Otherwise, it was a pretty amazing book.

RATING: 5/5 REVIEW: Why so good?!?! Pure story telling with a wonderful sense of humour, this book takes the cake and is my most favourite book by Rick Riordan. Reading it was total entertainment and I loved it so much. It had me laughing out loud. Wonderful narration and the stories had me hooked from the first page, itself.

RATING: 5/5 REVIEW: 1984 is fucking brilliant and it blew my mind. It's so heavy yet it doesn't feel like it. It's so so so intelligent and brilliant. My favourite classic, definitely. What do you do when you're in the minority of the sane people? You can close your eyes and become insane or you can fight against the government who wants to strip you of all kinds of sanity. If you're the only one who believes in something, is that thing really true? Or just a trick that your mind's playing on you? Everything is in your head. Everything you see is in your head. This book was a wonderful piece of work. It was perfect.

RATING: 5/5 REVIEW: Something I’m not ready to name works itself under the grip of Charlie’s death and loosens it, and keeps the nightmares at bay when I fall back asleep. I had no complaints with this short and sweet novel. It was beautiful. I was worried about liking this book because none of the reviewers I follow had read it but I'm glad I read it anyway. It was amazing. This book is About a marine who's suffering from trauma because he's been through a lot and he's in search of something like normal to help him get by. Enter Harper. Their relationship wasn't insta love and I'm so grateful for that. I totally shipped them. You might find a tattoo a much easier way than guilt to carry Charlie with you. It was a beautiful story with flawed characters with good hearts and it totally warmed my heart. I loved it.

RATING: 4.5/5 REVIEW: Okay. I have to say that I did NOT expect to like this book. But I did. I so did. It's not thought provoking. It's not mind blowing. It doesn't do any of those things. But it makes you smile. It makes you laugh. It makes you blush a little. And I think that's enough. No? Anna and Etienne are adorable together. And I had so much fun witnessing their journey to love in the City of Love. I could relate to Anna because she and I are alike on one thing. We don't chase after people we hurt because we're afraid that they wouldn't want anything to do with us. So we never take the first step which is often misinterpreted as ego and malice But it's anything but. I wish friends held hands more often, like the children I see on the streets sometimes. I’m not sure why we have to grow up and get embarrassed about it. It was a very cute, fluffy and light read and man, I had so much fun.

RATING: 3/5 REVIEW: Since this classic is about a very cliche'd subject, I couldn't be too impressed by it. However, the writing style was good and there were certain thoughts that I loved and that were thought provoking but they had no relation to the story. It was an okay book. I can imagine how it would have been widely liked in those times but in today's era, a story like Gatsby falls flat. However, I did like the story and it wasn't a complete waste of time. so there's that. I'm glad to have gotten it off my TBR.

RATING: 5/5 REVIEW: Wow. What an adventure. This book should be adapted into a movie ASAP. What are the movie producers and directors waiting for????? The plot was mind blowing and it was very well executed. The book talked about a lot of science but it never got boring like The Martian did for me. It was a very well thought out story that was written in a style that's almost magical. Even non sci-fi enthusiasts would love this book. It's, By far, the best science fiction novel I've ever read. It was amazing and I loved it.

ORIGINAL RATING : 3.5 stars I loved how the plot revolved more around the politics and less around the romance. I loved Prince Kai. He was witty and hot and cute and sweet. I felt bad for Cinder. Dr. Erland was awesome. Haha. I think I'm a little disappointed with the ending. I loved how Cinder was different than the other retellings. Also how I didn't find it cliche'd at all. AUGUST 2017 RE-READ: 5/5 I have no idea why I gave it a 3.5 rating. The Lunar Chronicles is a very complex and unputdownable series and I love it a lot. I couldn't find anything wrong with the book and I felt very attached to the characters. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this series was very well thought out. It's fun reading it again after knowing the big twists. I love the Lunar Chronicles💝
