Vanja is the London Lions GM that put together their FIBA EuroCup championship roster. And before she became London's GM, she was an international scout for the Chicago Bulls. She's Slovenian and her basketball specialty is international talent.

Vanja as the Valkyrie VP fascinates me. This pretty much confirms that the Valkyrie roster isn't going to be focused on NCAA players. The Valkyries will also look at a lot of international players.

The Valkyrie GM Nyanin used to work for the Liberty. So there's a Liberty GM and an international VP. When you think "Liberty" and "international," who do you think of? Well the Liberty have a lot of international talent. But this woman right here needs a WNBA job next year:

There's been plenty of speculation that GM Nyanin will try to bring Sabrina over. But it will probably take several seasons to convince Sabrina to come. In the meantime, the Valkyries will need to establish an identity. And they'll need older players with experience. So I think they'll look at international stars to fill that role.
