I was sitting at my desk, doing homework for my AP Bio homework, when I heard the sound of some cheesy 80s song coming from outside my window. I walk outside to see the Katie Holt outside my house standing with what seems like a boombox on her shoulder. I smirked running to the rope by my balcony fence and tossing it down, something that seems right out of high school musical. Watching the small girl climbing up to see me I smiled, thinking how my life came out to this.

Two years ago I met my best friend, Keith Kogane who happened to be friends with Katie Holt. The pair was unique fiery hot Keith and calm sweet Katie didn’t seem to be a likely pair. But they worked together like that bird on an alligator’s teeth. Friends with Keith and infatuated with Katie, or Pidge as Keith and I called her, I found myself in between a rock and a hard place. But slowly our talking and coffee dates between the three of us was just us, alone in a bookstore studying for the next big test. Keith knew that we were both head over heels for each other, touching each other in any small way we could, the brushing of hands or a small head lean on the other’s shoulder.

But Keith’s big idea to get us together? Tell Katie that to confess to me she needed to put a boombox on her shoulder and play an 80s song outside my window and well since then it’s been a tradition. So two years later I’m sitting on my porch with the love of my life, realizing that life has been bad but she has made it so much better since we decided to date.

So gazing into her eyes, I look at her and for the first time I say, “I love you Katie Holt.” With a shocked and tearful look she looks me in my eyes and says “I love you too (y/n).”

Shiro:

A beach date with Shiro would be more kicked back and calm

Admires his s/o from head to toe for their choice of clothing.

He’d be a complete loser dad and bring sunblock, umbrellas, chairs, towels and everything else you would ever need for a fun day at the beach (in style)

If he forgot ANYTHING he’ll run to the nearest stand/parlor to make sure you’re comfortable.

I mean anything

Shiro would make sure his s/o was wearing SPF 30 

Will sit on you rubbing in sunscreen until you’re at least double coated

He’s always stressed and overworked which causes him to be tense. 

This means massages, both for you and him. 

His husky hand will definitely feel like that of a god.

I mean massage so good you’ll be sleep in seconds

Expect soft oft back kisses during

While in the water expect to be held bridal style and kissed like a classic couple™

Before a wave engulfs you both

Overall a nice relaxing and fun date.

Keith:

Beach dates aren’t really Keith’s type of date but if you desired a beach date he wouldn’t fight you (long) about it.

Main reason he doesn’t care for the beach is that the sand gets EVERYWHERE!

He’d really enjoy if you guys just took a bike ride along the beach and got some ice cream for a really cute mini date.

Keith’s not much of a planner and since it was more than likely you’re idea he’d expect you to bring all the necessities.

Once there and you guys are all set up Keith totally battles you over putting on sunscreen

p.s. you lose this one.

His excuse is, “I’m half galra what do I need sunscreen for???”

 After noticing he was being kind of a brat he takes you by your hand and leads you to play some beach volleyball.

He’s extremely competitive so don’t expect any special treatment if you’re not on the same team

He’ll notice people checking you out and totally get territorial by grabbing you and kissing you passionately out of nowhere.

He’ll totally snorkel/ search the sea for some shell for you because he was TOLD (by Lance) that that’s what everyone on beach date is supposed to do.

A date that turned out a lot better than Keith anticipated and he probably won’t object (as much) as he did last time.

Lance:

Lance LOVES the beach

I mean this boi will try to make most of your dates on the beach.

He’s not much of a pack rat so he won’t really bring anything expect what’s absolutely necessary

Lance is just such a upbeat and excitable person he probably won’t even let you guys relax for a second once you put your stuff down.

Expect lots activities from swimming through waves to building the castle of lions from sand (p.s. it’ll come out terrible but don’t tell him that.)

He’ll gas you up about how you look the entire way there and once you’re there.

Shows off s/o because he wants everyone to know who he scored.

“SACRIFICE FOR POSEIDON!” Lance screams as he chucks you into a wave.

You get him back by burying him in the sand before buying ice cream and eating all of it in front of him as torture.

A fun date with lots of laughs and plenty of memories.

Hunk:

Hunk is like lance in the fact that he loves the beach!

Although the whole aspect of sitting on the beach with chairs and umbrella really isn’t for him.

He more so likes the pavilions above the wall of the beach where you barbecue 

He brings plenty of the foods you both love and grills them to perfection. 

Expect lots of corny jokes the entire time.

“And then the sand said I’ll SEA you later!”

Most of the date is spent hand holding and walking the shoreline for a few miles because Hunk is gentle boi™

Makes sure you both have on some Sunscreen on your exposed parts.

Make no mistake Hunk will make the prime objective of the date to make sure his s/o is comfortable and laughing.

Pidge:

Pidge will not be opposed so a little fun in the sun but it wouldn’t be her choice of a date

Less sand and water and more finding a pier on the beach.

Pidge enjoys the piers as they have minigames, arcades, and rides!

She’ll totally win both of you some great prizes as she’s really good at games (and figuring out how their rigged.)

She offers to buy you some cotton candy on the date to which you turn down only to end up eating the last piece.

“If you wanted some I could’ve gotten you your own!”

“I didn’t want any then but now I do!”

Adorable little skirmish between the both of you over the cotton candy debacle.

To end off the beach date turned into a pier date you both end up at the infamous couples Ferris wheel.

The sunsetting and it seems like everything’s falling in place for a perfect date.

Only for you to lean in to kiss and Pidge is like, babbling on so you awkwardly kiss her eye.

Lots of laughs overall and some good fun on the beach date that wasn’t really on the beach.

Allura:

The altean princess doesn’t really understand the point of going to the ocean for a date?

Once her S/o arrives with her on a date she’s just wearing a formal dress cause she’s not really sure the dressing model of human beach dates??

Her s/o has to take her to the store on the beach so she can see and pick out some proper attire for sun, sand, and sea.

Falls in love with a cute ducky float and decides to carry it around 

She’s not too keen on getting into the water but does enjoy the cute aspect of walking together.

Loves the fact that there’s ice cream everywhere!

After adapting to the strange customs of her s/o she generally enjoys herself

Although kind of bugs her s/o with all the questions

“Why those children digging with mini tools? Are they looking for something”

“Their just digging to make a hole Allura.”

“Human children are strange..”

She does enjoy herself and her s/o on the date but she really just likes to go back to the beach for ice cream

Shiro, Lance, and Allura Headcannons w/ s/o who was a Galra prisoner.

Warning: Potential trigger warnings, points on ptsd.

Shiro:

Both of you were Galra prisoners so there’s no dirty laundry

While Shiro was in the fighting pits you were slave labor working in one of the many quintessence mines.

You both totally kiss each other’s scars

During training sessions, he takes it a tad bit easier on you.

At night while nightmares keep both of you awake you talk about your experiences as a prisoner and what kept you going.

Shiro and you go back and forth between little spoon and big spoon to comfort each other.

Shiro loves laying his head on your chest to he can hear your heartbeat.

You have a closer bond than anyone else on the team because of your shared trauma

Because of this you’re a little clingy to him, riding with him in his lion.

Despite his rejections

 You’re totally jealous he came out with a cool arm weapon from the Galra and you got nothing but beatings and whippings.

Lance:

Initially when you joined the team he always wondered why you wore jackets like him. He didn’t know it was to hide your scars.

After finding this out he totally allows you to wear his jackets. And is a bit possessive and shows you off to the team exclaiming you’re in his jacket.

Not that his approval was necessary anyway.

He finds your slave stories amusing and loves to sit down and talk about them.

He tries to make you more comfortable with your scars by admiring and saying little suave compliments.

He may also say the wrong thing making it awkward

He relates to you by sharing the horror stories of what happened in Cuba way before he was born. 

Lance always has lots of energy but whenever you maybe going through an episode he’ll pull you into a nice warm hug.

Whenever nightmares haunt you he holds you extra close to his chest so the sound of his heartbeat can drown out the horrid memories.

His nurturing nature may nag you a bit about sleeping, eating, and bathing whenever you may forget. 

Allura:

Allura shares your disdain towards the galra considering Zarkon blew up her planet.

She doesn’t too much like hearing all the awful things done to you while you were a slave but she does enjoy you opening up to her.

 She shares stories of the beauty of Altea which enlightens the mood.

Her mothering and nurturing nature makes her hold you close to her whenever an episode is occurring. 

She trains you harder than everyone else to make sure you’re never taken again.

When sleeping you both face one another so you two can always have a visual on each other.

She totally admires your badass scars

Battle of the bands AU

Part two, The list:

It was the next day, and everyone had crowded around a piece of paper, taped to the window of a concert hall called The Lion. You stood on your toes, trying to get a look. The list for the qualifiers. You had no doubt you’d be on the list, you’d heard some of the bands that auditioned. The sound haunted your dreams. But there was still this nervousness, knotting together in the pit of your stomach. Just that tiny bit of unsure, that made you want to push to the front of the crowd.

You looked around, trying to find the best route. In your search, you found the voltron squad. A smile appeared on your face, as you found yourself approaching them before even thinking about it. “Here to find out that you didn’t make it?” You grinned, watching them turn to you. Keith crossed his arms, sending you a glare. “If we didn’t make it, you sure as hell didn’t.” You put a hand over your chest, and gasped, feigning surprise. “Sir, I am hurt.” You said pointedly. Keith rolled his eyes, but you saw the little upturn in the corner of his mouth. You’d get him to like you eventually, internally making it a personal goal. “But for real, did you guys make it?” You asked, the smile returning to you. Pidge huffed, making their annoyance known. “No, these jerks are crowding the freakin list!” They made sure to say loud enough, for the herd to hear. You chuckled under your breath, finding their little outburst adorable. “Do you guys want to wait it out? Or try to push to the front?” You asked, shifting your weight to your right foot. Everyone seemed to look at Shiro, awaiting an answer. “I say we wait a few, and if it hadn’t dispersed by then, we push through.” You all nodded, “sounds good to me.”

You leaned against a brick wall, and slid down to the ground. You brought your knees up, and leaned your elbows against them. The sun caught your eyes, looking up. the sky was so blue, as if whatever god made this planet, felt bad for the people inland that couldn’t see the ocean. So he built a giant mirror above, to reflect it for all to see. Your thoughts were interrupted by a different blue, like two small pools trapped behind someone’s eyes. You unfocused a bit, and widened your vision to this persons face. It was lance, hovering above you with a big grin on his face. “Digging the view?” He asked smugly, noticing that you’d been staring. You hadn’t even noticed you were staring, you were briefly lost in thought and almost hadn’t noticed him there at all. “Huh? No, you just moved yourself into my field of vision and didn’t move.” You tried to justify it, mildly flustered as you tied to avoid the fact that you had been looking at his eyes longer than you’d like to admit. Even if you didn’t realize it was him at first.

“Oh, I’m sure~.” He sat down next to you, more than happy with himself. You sighed, realizing now that you’d never live this down. “Believe what you want.” You said offhandedly, looking the other way. Lance leaned his head against the wall, and looked at you a moment, the sun drenching your face, highlighting the E/C in your eyes, each little fleck a different shade when he looked close enough. “I choose to believe that you were staring.” He said, staring himself. That is, until you looked back at him to roll your eyes. “Whatever noodle boy.” Lance paused, had she just called him... noodle boy? “I’m sorry, who?” He tried not to smile. “You, noodle boy.” He feigned a frown, and pouted at you. “I’m not a noodle, look at these guns.” He then proceeded to hold up, and flex his skinny boi arms. You just laughed. “Uhuh.”

Keith stood out of earshot, with the rest of the group. But he could see the facial expressions, and lance flexing. He rolled his eyes, and crossed his arms. “Can’t he leave the poor girl alone? Why does he have to flirt with everything that moves?” He grumbled. Shiro rose an eyebrow, sliding in next to Keith. “Are you jealous Keith?” He asked with a tinge of amusement in his voice. Keith scoffed, dismissing it immediately. “Of course not.” Pidge joined in, grinning from ear to ear. “Are you jealous of lance, or of Y/N?” Hunk choked on the slushy he’d been drinking, Shiro didn’t seem to really react, but Keith looked frightened. “Why would I be jelous of Y/N?” He asked in his signature ‘I don’t understand’ monotone. Everyone sighed, mildly exasperated with the boy.

Both you and lance looked up, noticing two tall blond people approaching you. It was lotor, with allura holding onto his hand. They both wore sunglasses, thinking they were cool. “Wow there sure are a lot of hopeless losers here.” Lotor earned himself a small jab in the ribs from Allura, and a laugh from you and Lance. “What he means, is that there sure are a lot of people here.” Allura corrected him, smiling at the two of you. Lance smirked, giving her a nod. “And none of them are as beautiful as you.” You just rolled your eyes, catching the death glare lotor gave lance. You interrupted before it got ugly. “We’re waiting them out.” You patted the ground next to you, signaling for your super model pals to sit down. And just as they did, a grinning pidge came running over to you, waving a paper around. “We made it! Both of our bands did!” They shouted gleefully. Lance cheered, but the rest of you stared. “Pidge- did, did you steal the list?” You asked, trying your best not to let any laughter slip through. The now noticing the angry crowd that had followed her over. “Now I don’t think that really ma-“ Pidge was in the middle of saying when you shot up and grabbed their hand, running away to find safety. “I’ll scold you later.” You said as the two of you ran, the rest of the band members catching on and following.

These voltron kids are crazy. You were kind of into it.
