Ladynoir Enemies AU:

While we're all waiting for more Texting scenes to come out, I thought I'd share another AU I love working on: Ladynoir Enemies!

In this comic, Ladybug uses one of the suites in the Grand Paris Hotel as her "base" sometimes and forgot to hide her info board before Chat came over. Ladybug has been taking notes on what Chat says during akuma battles and writing down anything she thinks might be important to revealing many of the questions she has towards Chat. Why did he turn against her? What is the reason he wants her Miraculous? Is Hawkmoth threatening him and that's why he became a villain? Chat's refused to answer any of them.

I was hesitant to post these here since the way I've been drawing out these comics is on a very loose timeline. Not everyone likes things out of order, but OH WELL, we're doing this! Welcome to the Enemies AU chaos, Tumblr <3

Did Matthew really had to be put through the wringer like that? I don't know, I just found all the unrequited love business unnecessary. There was enough emotional turmoil for him to have a compelling arc without adding a love triangle that walked all over his feelings on top of it.

And Cordelia was so careless with him. First she uses him as a rebound fully knowing how he feels about her, then she lets him down in such a weird way? Touching him and dancing around the point, letting him kiss her instead of cutting off any hope right away. And she does it in the middle of a party after he's just started to stop drinking.

Let me be clear, that doesn't make her a bad person or responsible for his bad decissions. Her platonic love for him is genuine and she's the one who had been looking after him the most. She makes a mistake and that's fine; I just wish the narrative acknowledged that.

I also had high hopes for James after he realised the bracelet stopped him from noticing how much Matthew needed him, but it didn't really go anywhere. Cordelia has to be the one to send him to Matthew's, and after he feels Matthew's heart breaking he can only think of what that means for his own chances with Cordelia.

The intention to show how much James cared for Matthew is there, but the truth is he felt like an afterthought most of the time unless the plot forced them together.

truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if she’s sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if she’s perhaps worried she’s a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and that’s enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said she’s here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then she’ll make another one. I said “isn’t it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?” and she just looked at me funny and said “what do you mean? The whole world was here, waiting”. Some people, I tell you.
