Between coffee and letters
Luke Hughes x Fem!Reader
Summary: Maybe Y/N is actually noticed by someone...
Warnings: Nothing that I'm aware off, maybe a few grammatical mistakes, but other than that...idk
Word Count: 1.3k
Tumblr media
The birds sang loudly and clearly that November morning. Y/N, a sweet and shy girl, woke up to the beautiful melody. She could feel the cold that had set in since the previous month in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was Saturday, meaning she had to go to work at Poindexter Coffee, a café where many university students spent their free time.
Y/N got up and made her bed, ensuring the small room she shared with her best friend stayed neat. She gathered her belongings and headed to the bathroom to get ready. She braided her long hair into two braids, put on black leggings, a white long-sleeved sweater, and boots to keep warm in the chilly weather. Once ready, she went back to her room, grabbed her bag, and headed out.
Leaving her dorm, Y/N walked to the café, where she always felt at peace. She arrived at 8:30 a.m., greeted Ray, the owner of Poindexter, and took her place at the cash register. After a few hours into her shift, a tall guy with curly hair and eyes as blue as the sky entered the café. Y/N knew him as Luke from the classes they shared. She found him handsome and knew he was an incredibly kind guy.
“Y/N/N! Good morning. I’d like a cappuccino to go,” Luke said, flashing his characteristic playful smile.
“Sure, I’ll have it ready right away,” Y/N replied, offering a shy smile in return.
She rang him up and went to prepare his order. When she called Luke to pick up his coffee, he grabbed it and handed her a small piece of paper before leaving, flashing her another smile.
Y/N, confused, opened the small note, which read: “Next Saturday. You, me, and a picnic in the park. Are you down?”
She felt the heat rise to her cheeks, almost certain her face was as red as a tomato. “This must be a dream,” she thought. She was so used to being ignored by guys. She had always been shy and kept to herself, her nose usually buried in books, dreaming of a romance like the ones she read about.
“Y/N! Are you listening, girl?” Ray’s voice snapped her out of her daze. She looked at him, startled. “It’s time for you to leave,” Ray said with a sweet smile that reminded her of her grandfather.
“Oh…right!” she replied, offering a nervous smile. “See you Monday, Ray,” she said, hurrying to the employee break room to grab her things. She took off her apron, then left the café.
To calm her racing thoughts, Y/N decided to walk to Felch Park, just a few blocks away. As she walked, she overanalyzed everything that had happened with Luke. It seemed impossible that such a nice guy would be interested in her. “What if it’s a joke?” she kept asking herself. Sitting on a bench in the park, she watched as the leaves fell from the trees, drifting freely through the air.
Meanwhile, Luke headed to Yost Stadium for hockey practice after picking up his coffee. He was one of the best players on the university team. Upon entering the stadium, he met up with his friends.
“Luke! Did you tell Y/N, or did you chicken out again?” Ethan asked.
“Well, I told her…sort of, but not directly,” Luke admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. His friends looked at him in confusion, so he explained everything.
“Now, I just have to wait for her answer,” he finished, his cheeks turning pink.
Their coach came into the locker room, calling the boys out to the ice. Before heading out, Luke quickly sent Y/N a text: “Hey, I hope I didn’t catch you off guard with the note :)” He sighed, put his phone down, and joined his team on the ice.
Y/N heard the notification, and her heart began to race. “What should I even say?” she wondered, starting to panic. This was all too new for her. “Breathe, just tell him you’d love to go.” Taking a deep breath, she unlocked her phone and replied:
“Hi! Don’t worry, it wasn’t a problem, haha. Honestly, I’d love to go out with you :)”
Now, all she had to do was wait, her heart pounding in her chest. Still sitting on the park bench, Y/N marveled at how unexpected this was. Sure, some guys had shown interest before, but no one had ever actually invited her on a date. That only happened in her daydreams.
After several minutes with no reply, Y/N decided to head back to her dorm to finish her assignments for the week and to make sure she was free—just in case the date was real—next Saturday.
Hours later, after returning to her room, Y/N’s phone chimed, sending butterflies fluttering in her stomach. The message read, “So, I’ll pick you up after your shift on Saturday ;)”
With just that message, Y/N melted, unable to wipe the sweet smile from her face.
Saturday
Luke woke up feeling more than happy, even though the sky was gray and cloudy, and the air smelled damp—suggesting rain or, worse, snow. He was nervous, but he still put on his nicest casual clothes, sprayed on some cologne, and headed to Poindexter to pick up Y/N.
On the other hand, Y/N woke up earlier than usual to dress nicely but appropriately for the weather. She was on edge, thinking, “What if he doesn’t like me in the end?” “What if he regrets asking me out?”
She shook her head, trying to clear away the bad thoughts. Once she was ready, she grabbed her bag and ran out the door, realizing she was already running late. It was 8:15 a.m., and she couldn’t afford to be late for work—Ray would definitely notice.
After her shift, both Luke and Y/N were filled with anticipation. Luke entered the café just as Y/N was leaving, ready for the short walk to the park where she had been just the week before.
“Hey! Ready to go?” Luke asked, giving her a hug.
“Yeah, we can go now,” Y/N replied, blushing as she returned the hug.
Luke took her hand, and together they walked to the park.
When they arrived, they found a spot under a tree to sit, sheltered from the brief moments of sunlight peeking through the gray winter clouds.
“I forgot to ask what you like, so I hope ham and cheese sandwiches are okay,” Luke said with a nervous laugh, blushing slightly.
“They’re perfect, Luke. Thank you,” Y/N smiled, giving him a light pat on the arm.
As they talked, exchanging stories, anecdotes, and little details about their lives, they both felt their connection deepening. Luke thought, “Why didn’t I ask her out sooner?” and Y/N mused, “This is going even better than I imagined.”
Before they knew it, the afternoon had flown by. “I think we should head back; it’s getting late,” Luke said, a hint of sadness in his voice.
“Yeah…we should,” Y/N agreed, her smile mirroring his sadness. They packed up and began the walk back to her dorm.
“I had a fantastic day, Luke. Thank you so much for everything,” Y/N said sweetly.
“I did too,” Luke replied, smiling back. “And thank you for agreeing to go out with me,” he added, giving her a small kiss on the cheek, leaving her blushing.
After saying goodbye, Y/N returned to her room, changed into her pajamas, and lay down on her bed, unable to stop smiling. Staring at the ceiling, she imagined what the future might hold with Luke. Suddenly, her phone chimed: “Sleep well, princess <3”
Y/N went to sleep with a huge smile, thinking, “Finally, someone notices me.”

"Wondering Why"
Luke Hughes x Reader
Summary: During a summer morning, Luke wonders how he got so lucky with you
Warnings: Tooth rotting fluff
A/N: This is a very short blurb, but hope you like it! As you can tell, my favorite boys are Lukey and Matt :) Sorry if there is any mistake, english is not my first language <3
Inspired by "Wondering Why" - The Red Clay Strays
Luke woke up to the soft rays of sunshine peeking through the window. The summer air lingered around the lake house that the Hughes family and their friends had fallen in love with. Luke glanced down at your sleeping figure and took a deep, satisfied breath at the sight.
You two met last year when he moved to Jersey, both of you bumping into each other at a frat party held at the end of the semester. Since neither of you are particularly fond of parties, you talked until your friends dragged you back to your dorm. Before you left, he got your number, and the two of you texted each other all summer, counting down the minutes until you could return to Jersey.
When you both got back, the first thing Luke did was ask you out on a date, and of course, you said yes. The date involved playing mini golf, where Luke taught you how to hit the ball. It was a very fun experience that brought you closer than ever. After that, Luke took you to his apartment, ordered takeout, and put on a movie, though it was quickly forgotten as the two of you ended up talking about anything and everything.
At the end of the night, when Luke dropped you off at your apartment, he nervously asked you to be his girlfriend. Without a moment of hesitation, you said yes. How could you not? You had fallen for him during those late-night conversations on FaceTime and the endless stream of messages you exchanged over the summer. Every word, every laugh, every shared secret had brought you closer, and by the time you were back in Jersey, it was clear that something special had blossomed between you two. As he smiled in relief and leaned in for a gentle kiss, you knew that this was the beginning of something beautiful.
He smiled at the memory and pulled you closer. You squirmed at the gentle touch and slowly opened your eyes, greeted by the soft morning light. Looking up with a sleepy smile, you cuddled even closer to Luke, nestling your face into the warmth of his neck.
“Good morning, sweet girl,” he whispered in your ear, his voice low and tender.
“Morning,” you replied, pressing a sweet kiss to his bare chest. You looked up again, only to meet those precious greenish-blue eyes that seemed to hold the depth of the ocean. “Why are you staring at me like that?” you asked, your cheeks flushing with warmth.
Luke’s gaze softened as he brushed a strand of hair from your face. “I’m just wondering why someone as amazing as you chose to be with me,” he murmured, his voice filled with a mix of awe and gratitude. “Every time I look at you, I’m reminded of how lucky I am.”
Your blush deepened, and your heart swelled with affection as you realized that in his eyes, you were everything he could ever want. The world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you wrapped in the cozy comfort of the morning, where nothing else mattered but the love that had blossomed between you. As you lay there in each other’s arms, the future felt bright and full of promise, a journey you were both eager to take together.
“I love you so much, you have no idea, Luke Hughes,” you whispered, your eyes locking onto his with a gaze full of sincerity and emotion.
“Oh, believe me, I love you way more, Y/N Y/L/N,” he replied with a soft smile before leaning in to kiss you. The kiss was tender yet filled with passion, a silent declaration of just how deeply he truly loved you. When you finally broke the kiss, your foreheads rested against each other for a moment, both of you savoring the closeness and the love that surrounded you.
You cuddled up against him again, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat under your ear as you nestled into his chest. The warmth of his embrace made you feel safe and cherished, as if the world outside could wait just a little longer. The morning stretched out before you, but neither of you was in any rush to move. Wrapped up in each other’s arms, you stayed there together, enjoying the simple bliss of just being, with no words needed to express what your hearts already knew.

On the wrong foot
Matt Rempe x Reader
Summary: Maybe starting off on the wrong foot wasn't as bad as everyone thought…
Warnings: A little angsty but nothing to bad, enemies to lovers.
A/N: Due to the lack of Matt Rempe´s fics, here you have one, hope you guys like it. Sorry for any grammar mistakes, english is not my first language :) Let me know what you thought about this little fic
2.8k words
Tumblr media
Being an intern for the New York Rangers has its ups and downs. Some positive aspects are that you get to do what you like (having fun on social media and forcing the players to make TikToks) and having free access to all the games in the season. All of that makes you grateful for this amazing opportunity, but there is one thing that makes this job unbearable..
And that is Matt Rempe, a cocky, 6'7" rookie who acts like he has the entire world in the palm of his hand. His arrogance and overconfidence make every interaction with him a challenge. He struts around the locker room, flaunting his height and abilities, often disregarding the efforts of those around him. His constant need for attention and validation only adds to the frustration, making what could be an amazing experience a bit of a nightmare.
Y/N and Matt started off on the wrong foot, meeting under the worst possible circumstances. It was the worst day of Y/N´s entire life. She had woken up late, throwing off her entire morning routine, and had to rush out the door without even grabbing a quick breakfast. Her day only got worse as she hurried to catch the train, only to miss it by mere seconds. By the time Y/N finally made it to the rink, she was frazzled, starving, and running on empty. That’s when she ran into Matt Rempe for the first time. Their initial encounter was less than pleasant, setting the tone for our strained relationship from the very start.
“You know this is a private practice, right?” Matt asked the poor frazzled girl.
“Yes, I am very aware of that,” she answered, chuckling. “You must be Matt, right? The new rookie?” Y/N asked, looking up at the lanky, very tall boy standing in front of her.
“Yeah, I mean, hard for you not to know, I guess... And you are?” Matt trailed off.
Y/N was taken aback, mainly because the team directors always made sure to let the new guys know who worked in what, especially in the media and marketing department.
“Oh, umm… I’m Y/N, one of the media interns,” she replied with a tight-lipped smile.
Matt raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Media intern, huh? So, what do you do? Take pictures and post tweets?”
“Actually, I manage the team's social media accounts, coordinate player interviews, and create content for our marketing campaigns,” Y/N replied, trying to keep her voice steady despite her irritation. “It’s a lot of work and responsibility.”
“Right, sure,” Matt said dismissively. “Well, try not to get in the way.”
Y/N felt a surge of frustration but forced herself to stay calm. “I’ll do my best,” she said, her tone tinged with sarcasm. “And maybe you can try to remember who’s on your team next time.”
Matt smirked. “We’ll see about that.”
As he walked away, Y/N couldn’t help but feel a mixture of anger and determination. She knew she had to prove herself, not just to Matt, but to everyone. This internship was too important to let one arrogant rookie ruin it for her.
She brushed it off, but it still annoyed her the audacity of that boy.
°°°°°°°°°°°
A few weeks had passed since their first encounter and it has been a constant fight between Y/N and Matt, mainly because of Matt’s attitude towards her. December rolled around and the team´s marketing director told the staff that they needed to do a promotional photoshoot to use during summer break.
It was a chilly Tuesday morning, and the team was gathered for the photoshoot at an outdoor rink. The bright sunlight reflected off the ice, creating a beautiful backdrop for the shoot. Y/N had been working tirelessly to ensure everything was set up perfectly: the lighting, the props, and the shoot schedule.
Matt Rempe, on the other hand, seemed determined to test Y/N’s patience today. As the players gathered for their turn in front of the camera, Y/N called Matt over for his individual shots.
“Alright, Matt, let’s get started,” Y/N said, holding up a clipboard and checking the list. “We need you to do a few action poses first, then we’ll get some close-ups.”
Matt strolled over with a cocky and sarcastic grin. “Sure thing, but can I ask, why do we have to do this out in the freezing cold? Couldn’t you find a warmer spot?” Making his grin disappear and tuning his face into an annoyed frown
Y/N kept her professional demeanor. “It’s about the look we’re going for. The outdoor rink adds a unique touch to the photos. Plus, it’s only for a short while.”
Matt sighed heavily but positioned himself on the ice. As Y/N instructed him to perform a few drills and poses, Matt’s resistance became evident. He was slow to follow instructions, often taking a few extra seconds to reposition himself, and his expressions were lackluster at best.
Y/N tried to stay patient as she gave him clear directions. “Matt, please try to focus on the details of the poses. We need these shots to look sharp and engaging.”
Matt responded with a distracted nod but continued to make minimal effort. When Y/N asked him to adjust his stance, he grumbled, “I’m doing my best here, but this isn’t exactly my favorite way to spend an afternoon.”
Y/N took a deep breath, keeping her frustration in check. “Matt, I understand it’s not the most exciting part of the job, but it’s important for the team’s image. We need to get this right.”
Matt didn’t seem to take her seriously. He continued to make things difficult for everyone, giving half-hearted poses, shooting dirty looks at the camera, and maintaining his scowl. The photographer was visibly annoyed, and Y/N could feel the tension rising.
“Matt, if you can’t cooperate, we’re going to have to reschedule,” Y/N said, her voice firm.
Matt stopped his antics and looked at Y/N, realizing she was serious. “Alright, alright. I’ll play along. But can we make this quick? I’m freezing out here.”
With a reluctant nod, Y/N directed Matt through the remaining poses, this time with a bit more cooperation. Though his attitude was far from perfect, he made an effort to follow directions and get the shots done. Y/N was relieved to finish the session and hoped that Matt’s cooperation would improve with time.
Matt’s POV:
A few days after my awkward encounter with Y/N at the photoshoot, I was at the rink, trying to shake off the frustration of another rough practice. As I was heading to the locker room, Trouba stopped me in the hallway, looking a bit more serious than usual.
“Dude, you should leave poor Y/N alone,” he said, shaking his head. “You’re driving her crazy, and not in the right way.”
I raised an eyebrow, confused. “What are you talking about? I haven’t done anything that bad.”
“Really?” Jacob replied, his tone indicating he was unimpressed. “I’ve seen you giving her a hard time. She’s not just some intern; she’s part of the team’s media and marketing department. You’re making it difficult for her to do her job.”
I shrugged, trying to downplay it. “I didn’t realize it was such a big deal. I thought I was just being straightforward.”
“It’s not about being straightforward,” Jacob explained. “It’s about showing some respect. She’s working hard behind the scenes, and she’s under enough pressure already. You don’t want to be the guy who makes things worse for her.”
I sighed, realizing he had a point. I hadn’t thought about how my behavior might be affecting Y/N. “Alright, I get it. I’ll try to be more considerate.”
Trouba nodded, seeming satisfied. “Good. Trust me, it’ll make things easier in the long run.” He started walking back toward the locker room but stopped and turned around to face me again. “And if you have a crush on her, that second-grade bullshit needs to stop.” He winked at me before finally leaving.
As Trouba walked away, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to make things right with Y/N. It was clear that my attitude needed to change, and I had to start finding a way to work with her, not against her.
And maybe Jacob’s right; I might have a little—just the tiniest—crush on Y/N. She’s a gorgeous, smart, and driven girl, and because of my little game, she probably won’t give me the time of day. But first things first, I need to turn around the relationship we currently have, or rather, the lack thereof.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
The next day, Matt found himself lingering outside the media office, trying to figure out how to approach Y/N. Apologizing wasn't something he was used to, especially when he wasn’t sure how she’d react. But he knew he had to start somewhere.
Y/N was at her desk, headphones on, focused on editing a video from the previous game. She hadn’t noticed Matt standing in the doorway until he cleared his throat, causing her to look up in surprise.
“Oh, hey,” Y/N said, pulling off her headphones and sitting up straighter. “What’s up?”
Matt rubbed the back of his neck, feeling a bit awkward. “Hey, I just wanted to talk to you about the other day. You know, at the photoshoot.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, clearly curious where this was going. “Okay…”
“I realize I’ve been a bit of a jerk,” Matt admitted, his voice slightly strained. “I didn’t mean to make things harder for you, and I’m sorry for being difficult.”
Y/N blinked, taken aback by his sudden apology. It was the last thing she expected from him. “Well, that’s… unexpected,” she said, not quite sure how to respond. “But I appreciate it.”
Matt nodded, feeling a small weight lift off his shoulders. “I know I’ve been giving you a hard time, but I want to make it up to you. Maybe we can start over?”
Y/N studied him for a moment, searching for any signs of insincerity. To her surprise, Matt seemed genuinely contrite. “Alright,” she said finally, offering a small smile. “I’m willing to give it a shot.”
Relief washed over Matt, and he smiled back. “Great. Maybe I can help out with some of the social media stuff, or anything else you need?”
Y/N chuckled, the idea of Matt willingly helping with TikToks and Instagram posts was amusing. “We’ll see about that,” she said teasingly. “But I’ll definitely let you know if there’s anything you can do.”
Matt grinned, feeling a strange sense of satisfaction. “Deal.”
As he left the office, Matt couldn’t help but feel a bit more relieved. Maybe he’d been too quick to judge Y/N, and maybe, just maybe, there was a chance to turn things around.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°|
Over the next few weeks, Matt made a conscious effort to be more cooperative and approachable, especially when it came to Y/N’s work. It wasn’t always easy—old habits die hard—but he was determined to keep his word. Slowly but surely, the tension between them started to ease.
Y/N, for her part, noticed the change in Matt’s behavior. He was still cocky and sarcastic, but there was a noticeable shift in his attitude. He wasn’t as dismissive or difficult as before, and he even started to show some interest in the work she was doing. It was a refreshing change, and it made her job a little less stressful.
One day, as they were wrapping up a content planning meeting, Y/N decided to take a chance. “You know, Matt, we’re shooting a new series of TikToks next week,” she said casually. “We could use a player who’s good on camera… Interested?”
Matt smirked, recognizing the playful challenge in her voice. “Oh, so now you need my help?”
Y/N rolled her eyes but smiled. “Only if you’re up for it.”
Matt pretended to think it over, then nodded. “Alright, I’m in. But only if you promise to make me look good.”
Y/N laughed. “Deal. But you’ll have to take direction without any complaints this time.”
“Fine,” Matt agreed, holding out his hand. “Shake on it?”
Y/N shook his hand, feeling a sense of accomplishment. It was a small victory, but it felt like a step in the right direction. Maybe, just maybe, this internship wouldn’t be so unbearable after all.
And as for Matt? Well, he found himself looking forward to working with Y/N a lot more than he’d expected.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°
As the weeks passed, the collaboration between Y/N and Matt grew smoother, and so did their relationship. They began to banter more playfully, their exchanges losing the tension they once had. Y/N started to see a different side of Matt, the side that wasn’t all arrogance and bravado, but someone who was actually fun to be around.
Matt, too, couldn’t help but notice how much he enjoyed spending time with Y/N. Her sharpness, her determination, and the way she handled everything with grace under pressure all intrigued him. The more he got to know her, the more he found himself wanting to be around her.
One evening, after a long day of content creation and practice, Y/N was finishing up some last-minute edits in the media room. The office was quiet, with most of the staff having gone home. She was so engrossed in her work that she didn’t notice Matt walk in.
“Hey,” Matt’s voice broke the silence, startling Y/N slightly.
“Oh, fuck!” Y/N yelped, “ Matt, you scared me!” she exclaimed, laughing as she turned to face him. “What are you doing here so late?”
Matt leaned against the doorframe, a small smile playing on his lips. “I was just wondering if you wanted to grab a bite to eat. It’s been a long day, and I figured you could use a break.”
Y/N blinked in surprise. This was the first time Matt had ever suggested something like this. “Are you asking me out on a dinner date?” she teased, raising an eyebrow.
Matt chuckled, his expression softening. “Yeah, I guess I am. What do you say?”
Y/N hesitated for a moment, then smiled warmly. “Sure, I’d like that.”
They ended up at a cozy little diner not too far from the arena, the kind of place that felt welcoming and unpretentious. As they settled into a booth, the conversation flowed easily. They talked about everything, from their families and childhood memories to their hopes and dreams for the future.
For the first time, Y/N saw the genuine person behind the cocky exterior. Matt was funny, thoughtful, and surprisingly down-to-earth. The more they talked, the more she found herself drawn to him.
And Matt? He couldn’t stop thinking about how beautiful Y/N looked when she laughed, or how her eyes lit up when she talked about something she was passionate about. He realized that this wasn’t just a crush anymore, he was falling for her, and hard.
As they walked out of the diner, the night air cool and crisp, Matt felt a wave of nervous anticipation. He knew he didn’t want this night to end just yet.
“Y/N,” Matt began, stopping in front of her. “I know we didn’t exactly start off on the right foot, but… I really like you. And I want to see where this could go.”
Y/N looked up at him, her heart skipping a beat. She could see the sincerity in his eyes, and it made her heart swell. “Matt, I like you too,” she admitted, a soft smile spreading across her face. “I wasn’t sure at first, but… you’ve shown me that there’s more to you than I thought.”
Matt took a step closer, his hand reaching out to gently tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. “So… what now?” he asked, his voice low and hopeful.
Y/N’s smile widened as she closed the distance between them. “Now,” she said softly, “we see where this goes.”
With that, Matt leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a tender, sweet kiss. It was soft at first, almost hesitant, as if both of them were testing the waters. But as Y/N responded, the kiss deepened, filled with a warmth and affection that had been building between them for weeks.
When they finally pulled apart, both of them were breathless, but smiling. Matt rested his forehead against hers, his arms wrapped around her waist.
“I’m really glad you didn’t let me mess this up,” Matt whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
“Me too,” Y/N replied, her eyes shining with happiness. “I think we make a pretty good team, don’t you?”
Matt grinned, leaning in to kiss her again. “Yeah, we really do.”
As they stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms under the soft glow of the streetlights, it was clear that this was the beginning of something special—something neither of them had expected, but both of them were more than ready to embrace.

"Reunited"
Luke Hughes x Ballerina!Reader
Summary: After months away from each other, Luke finally has his girl in his arms
Warnings: Nothing I'm aware of
Tumblr media
Luke was patiently waiting for his girlfriend at the airport. He hadn’t seen her since summer break, with him coming back to Jersey and Y/N going back to Arizona.
Y/N was a student at the Master Ballet Academy in Phoenix. She met Luke when they were both very little, since they were neighbors and her brother was very close to Quinn because of hockey. They started dating the summer before Luke began his freshman year at UMich, when Y/N returned to Michigan after her summer intensives.
Both couldn’t wait to be in each other’s arms again, after being apart since summer ended. Long distance was hard, especially with the hectic schedules they both had.
Luke scanned the crowd anxiously, his heart pounding with anticipation. Every time the doors slid open, he leaned forward, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. He had replayed this moment in his mind countless times: the first sight of her, the way her eyes would light up when she saw him, the warmth of her embrace after months apart.
Finally, he saw her. She was pulling a suitcase, looking around until their eyes met. Her face broke into a radiant smile, and she quickened her pace, weaving through the crowd.
"Y/N!" Luke called out, his voice filled with joy and relief.
"Luke!" she responded, rushing into his arms. They hugged tightly, not caring about the bustling airport around them. For that moment, it was just the two of them.
"I missed you so much," Luke whispered into her hair, holding her close.
"I missed you too," Y/N replied, her voice muffled against his chest. "It's been too long."
They finally pulled back slightly to look at each other. Luke gently brushed a strand of hair from her face and kissed her forehead.
"How was your flight?" he asked, taking her suitcase from her.
"Long, but worth it," Y/N said with a laugh. "I couldn't wait to see you."
They walked out of the airport together, hand in hand, catching up on everything they had missed. The months apart had been tough, but it made this reunion all the sweeter.
As they reached the car, Luke opened the door for her. "I've got a whole weekend planned for us," he said with a grin. "Starting with dinner at your favorite restaurant."
Y/N's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That sounds perfect," she said. "I can't wait to spend every minute with you."
"I can’t wait either, baby," he said softly, cupping her face in his hands and giving her a sweet kiss on the lips.
They drove off, the city lights blurring past them. For the first time in months, everything felt right again. They were together, and nothing else mattered.

"Seriously?!"
Paul Aron x Driver!Reader
Summary: Prema wanted their drivers to have a nice and relaxing weekend before the season starts, but they paired the roomates for the vacation...who's rooming with Paul?!
Warnings: A little bit of angst, fluff, and google translate Italian
Tumblr media
The 2023 season is coming up and Prema has a completely new driver lineup for both Formula 2 and Formula 3.
René being René, decided that taking their drivers for a little get away before the season starts was a great idea, so they went to Amalfi Coast, a little chilly but still beautiful during the winter.
Angelina was the one encharged to make the rooming situation, considering who needs more bonding than others, but seeing that Dino decided to take his girlfriend to bond with his friends as well, the decision was made:
Room 1: Ollie and Fred
Room 2: Dino and Elvira
Room 3: Paul and Y/N
Angelina knows that Paul and Y/N have always had a strained relationship, having been rivals since karting, so that was her masterplan, not only that, but she had shipped those two since they first stepped in the Prema factory back when they started single-seaters.
Going all the way back to 2018, where the real rivalry started, Paul and Y/N were competing in the CIK-FIA championship, throughout the whole season, it was a constant battle between both kids, in the end, Paul ended up winning the championship.
When 2019 rolled around, both kids were surprised to see that Prema had signed a contract with the two of them, even though it was well known that they were rivals, not only on track, but off track too. This took their rivalry to the next level, fighting for the F4 championship, especially the rookie championship…Paul ended up winning, like always.
2020 rolled around, surprisingly, the one that had a seat in Formula Regional was Y/N, not Paul. He sadly didn’t find any seats available for Frec, so he went to formula renault.
This little battle continued. 2021 for FRECA, both were teammates again, though that year, Y/N ended up winning the championship and went to be teammates with Arthur and Ollie in F3 and Paul repeated FRECA alongside Dino. Now in the present, Dino, Paul and Y/N are back being in the same team.
The tension grew so much that Angelina wanted it to end, because they needed a good year for the Formula 3 team. So she put her plan in action. She passed this idea through René first and of course he was beaming with glee. He needed those two to get along.
When everyone got to the hotel, the roommates were announced. Everyone was trying to hold in their giggles when they saw Paul and Y/N’s faces.
“Angelina, this has to be a joke, right?” Y/N said, “I thought you said that , well besides Dino, the ones that shared an academy were going to share!”
“Yeah! Angelina, it should be me and Fred and Ollie with Y/N” Paul said while aggravatedly running his fingers through his hair.
“Guys, we need you to get along, please!” René pleaded, “I know teammates don’t have to be best friends, but at least be civil with each other” He finishes
Y/N and Paul sighed and followed everyone to the elevator. They were glaring at each other, Y/N was thinking of ways to be apart throughout the whole trip, she was planning on doing everything with Ollie, who was her best friend, and just go back to the room to sleep. Paul on the other hand was thinking of spending time with both Fred and Dino, mostly with Fred though, because he didn’t want to interrupt the time Dino and his girlfriend would have together.
Funny thing is that underneath all that hatred between Paul and Y/N, everyone knows that they actually have a thing for each other. Except the two idiots in question.
Y/N is a completely hopeless romantic, but never gives love a try because she is terrified that no one will get used to her hectic schedule and just overall, to her hectic life. She started to feel something for Paul when she saw all her friends starting to get into relationships, not because of the FOMO, but because she spent most of her time with him, and even though they would bicker most of the time, Y/N would imagine what it would be like dating Paul.
For Paul, it is a whole different story. He never lacked the attention of girls, he had plenty, but he felt a weird connection with Y/N ever since they met. As a dumb kid, he started to annoy Y/N to get her attention, but it backfired on him when, during karting years, he accidentally took Y/N out of the track, getting p1. After the race, he went up to Y/N to make a lighthearted joke, but for very obvious reasons, Y/N was absolutely mad and upset at Paul, and everything went downhill for their relationship.
Both, being the stubborn teens they are, refused to acknowledge their feeling for eachother, so they decided to cover it up with “hatred”. It was easier that way, but not when they have to spend so much time together. Being teammates sometimes sucked.
Once they arrived at their respective rooms, Paul and Y/N were stunned when they saw just one bed in the room.
“You’ve got to be kidding me” Both said at the same time.
“I could always sleep on the floor, Y/N” Paul sighed and looked at Y/N, “Take the bed” He said with a soft tone.
Paul was fed up with the fights between him and Y/N, so he will take the opportunity of fixing his relationship with her. No matter how much it costs, he will fix it.
“We can share” Y/N mumbled, “Choose your side of the bed, I will go out to explore with Ollie for a while” She finished, leaving her luggage close to the closet and left the room.
Paul felt almost defeated. Key word being almost. He was sometimes jealous about Y/N’s friendship with Ollie. He had nothing against that nice british kid, but seeing them hang out almost everyday was upsetting. He knew that those two were close due to them being in the same academy, and being teammates last year.
Y/N on the other hand, couldn’t stand the thought of Paul hating her, so that’s why she mostly hung out with Ollie, Arthur and Dino. But mainly Ollie, they bonded over being to young kids in Formula 3, trying to meet everyone’s expectations. For Y/N, Ollie has been the only person to actually know about her true feelings towards Paul, he always gave her advice about what she could do with Paul, but funny enough, she was terrified. Y/N was more scared to show her true feelings than driving a car at 100 mph.
The whole team wanted Y/N and Paul to notice that both are just overthinking everything, and just start kind of fresh, for them to be friends or even something more.
••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••
It was around 7pm, everyone was supposed to meet at the lobby at 8 so they could go and have dinner.
Paul was trying to ignore the presence of Y/N until he could really know what he wanted to do about their relationship, but it was hard to ignore it when all he could hear was the angelic (at least that’s what he thought) voice of Y/N. She was softly singing Vienna by Billy Joel. Paul knew that Y/N loves that song.
Paul, in small worlds, was delighted. He was delighted by every single little thing about his new teammate. He was in too deep, he knew, and was okay with it.
Y/N could feel Paul’s eyes staring at her and it was making her feel happy and confused. Was it that she was ugly? Is that why he is staring? She was trying not to overthink it more than she already does.
When Y/N finished her makeup, she left the bathroom and went to the bed to put on her shoes, and once again, she felt Paul’s gaze in her.
“Hey, are you okay? Do I have something in my face for you to be staring at?” Y/N finally asked with a slight humor in her voice.
“No, not at all. You just look beautiful” Paul said truthfully, looking into Y/N eyes.
“Oh, um, thanks” She said blushing and staring back into Paul’s beautiful eyes, “You don’t look too bad yourself” She finished, focusing on her heels to pretend that it wasn’t a big deal.
Paul smiled at Y/N, even though she couldn’t see it. He was beaming with joy at the thought that they were kind of fixing things, but he still had a long way to go with their funny dynamic.
“We should start heading down, everyone might be there already” Paul voiced to Y/N. She just nodded and grabbed her bag.
Both made their way to the elevator, Paul behind Y/N like a bodyguard. Once they got to the lobby, they didn’t see anyone on the team, so they just decided to go to the restaurant.
“The reservation is under René’s name, right?” Y/N asked and Paul nodded in agreement.
“Ciao, posso aiutarti?” A nice lady asked (Hello, may I help you)
“Ciao, si” Y/N said in a slight broken italian, “Abbiamo una prenotazione a nome René Rosin” She confidently said (Hi, yes. We have a reservation under the name René Rosin)
“Ok, seguimi per favore” The lady said. Both kids followed her and came to a halt when they saw that the table was for two, “Ecco il tuo tavolo, torna subito con i menu” And she left. (Okay, follow me please. Here is your table, be right back with the menus).
Both kids looked at each other in confusion. They sat down and Y/N texted Angelina.
“Angelina just told me that we have to stay here and talk everything out” Y/N huffed out, “I think everyone wants us to fix our relationship” She softly spoked.
Y/N hesitated before gazing up at Paul. He had a shy smile on and waited for a little before starting to talk.
“You know, I never hated you” Paul said with confidence but at the same time, in a hushed voice, “I’ve always liked you, as a person and as a driver. I always find ways to annoy you so I could get your attention” He said with truth gleaming on his eyes, “I never wanted you to hate me, but in my dumb kid head, I thought that it was the only way you could actually notice me” He stopped for a brief moment, “I really like you, as more than just a person and a driver. I’ve always wanted you by my side, when I had a good or a bad race, the only thing going on in my mind was you” He finished.
Y/N was shocked. She never thought that Paul could be slightly interested in her, never. She always saw the attention he got from other girls and was terrified to compete against them.
“Y/N? Are you okay?” Paul asked, “I shouldn’t have said any of that, goddammit, I scared you, didn’t I?” He frantically let out.
Y/N looked at him, and saw that his eyes were telling nothing but the truth. She was just speechless because of how happy she felt.
Paul stood up from the table and was about to leave, but Y/N stopped him immediately by his wrist.
“Paul, sit down” He looked puzzled at Y/N, “Please” She said softly. He obliged and eventually sat down with his head hanging low, “I really like you too. More than a person and a driver, my eyes have always been just for you” She quietly stated.
“Seriously?!” Paul asked, raising his head up to see Y/N smiling sweetly at him and nodding.
“Yup, I just followed your game because I literally thought you hated me” She giggled at Paul’s face.
“Well, now you know that I feel everything but hatred for you” Paul laughed and couldn’t resist to press a kiss to Y/N’s lips, “That was just the beginning sweetheart” He goofily smiled at the girl he had heart eyes since he was a pre teen.
“Yeah…I guess we have to thank everyone for setting this up” Y/N pecked Paul on his lips and thought that it was the beginning to a very long story.

Why don’t you tell me
Mick Schumacher x Best Friend!Reader
Summary: Mick and Y/N have been best friends since Mick started racing with Prema, they tell each other everything...but Y/N knows Mick is hiding something.
Warning: Just pure fluff
Disclaimer:  Hello! This is my first one shot ever so...sorry if it's not good and well, English is not my first language so excuse any grammar mistakes :)
Tumblr media
Y/N has known Mick since he started racing with Prema.
She has been with him for everything, from his Formula 3 championship win to him losing his seat at Haas, Y/N has never left him or even been embarrassed of Mick.
People grew to love the pair, even started rumors about them dating each other, but all those rumors got shut down almost immediately by both of them.
Mick, like the hopeless romantic he is, fell in love with Y/N. He doesn’t know when he did exactly, but he fell...and he fell hard.
He admired the way that Y/N would go, whenever she could, to the races, to support him during everything. How she didn’t use him for the fame that his last name brings, how genuine she is. Mick likes everything about her, and because he didn’t want to ruin anything with Y/N, he decided to hide those feelings.
On the other hand, Y/N has been head over heels for Mick since they met. She liked how focused he was whenever he would race, it didn’t matter where he would finish in a race, he poured his heart and soul into it, and that made Y/N love him even more.
Even more, she loved how much Mick cares about his family, he literally would move mountains for them if it were necessary. Y/N decided to do the same as Mick, and hide those unsaid feelings she has, because she cherishes their friendship so much that it would hurt if something bad happened between them.
••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••
During the winter break Y/N has been nothing but supportive of Mick. With him losing his seat at Haas, and ending his formula 1 career for now, it really took a toll on him.
When Mick started thinking about what he was going to do regarding his F1 career, he went into a spiral of his own thoughts, some of which were negative. He thought that he could never live up to the expectations of others, or even live up to his last name.
“Hey! Mick? Are you listening?” Y/N said with a very soft voice, to try to get Mick out of that twist of thoughts in his mind, while both of them were peacefully laying on Y/N’s bed.
“Yeah, um...what were you saying?” He answered looking at her eyes, those beautiful eyes he fell in love with during all these years.
“Why don’t you tell what is going on inside that pretty little head of yours?” She observed while brushing her hand through his delicate blond hair.
“Nothing...nothing, just thinking about everything that happened in Abu Dhabi” He sighed and curled up to Y/N’s touch. “What if I can’t be like my dad? Haas wasn’t the only one that dropped me, so did Ferrari” Mick finished with a clear frustration and quiver to his voice.
“Mick, you are nothing but an amazing boy, the way haas handled things wasn’t your fault” Y/N hugged Mick and kissed his forehead, “I promise that you will sort things out, everything happens for a reason Mickey” She softly said.
And when Mick thought that he couldn’t fall more for Y/N, she proved him wrong, he was more than positive that his feelings will never go away, he just has to man up and confess to her.
Y/N felt Mick hug back and they just stayed that way for the rest of the morning.
Y/N wanted to tell Mick about her own feelings, but she just couldn’t do it, not after 5 years of friendship, ‘What if I ruin everything between us?’ she asked herself that everyday.
••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••
“Y/N!!” Mick entered the apartment he knew as if it was his own.
“In the kitchen” Y/N called out.
Mick went running to the kitchen, he had the best news ever to tell his best friend, “Hey” he went to hug Y/N, “Guess what” Mick said with excitement.
“Hhmm...I don’t know, tell me why are you acting like a kid in disney” Y/N answered giggling
“Well, you are talking with the new Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team reserve driver” He finishes with a content and proud smile.
“Oh my god!” Y/N threw herself at Mick, catching him in a tight hug, “Mickey, I am so proud of you! I told you, this is a great opportunity for you” She whispered in his ear, more than proud of her best friend.
They stood there, just enjoying each other’s warm embrace. Mick took a deep breath and pushed Y/N a little to see her face.
He admired her for a little, just like Y/N was admiring Mick and those ocean blue eyes. Mick started to lean in and caught Y/N’s lips in a short kiss to make sure he wasn’t over stepping anything. Once he saw Y/N chasing for his lips, he knew it was okay.
They crashed their lips together in a sweet and passionate kiss. Y/N had one of her hands running through Mick’s hair and the other in the back of his neck. Mick had one of his hands delicately holding Y/N’s face and the other in her waist, pulling her as close as he could.
Once they started running out of air, both started to pull away, just enough to disconnect their lips but to remain as close as possible.
Mick kissed Y/N’s temples and hugged her, leaning his forehead against hers.
“I am in love with you, Y/N” Mick whispered as if he was telling Y/N the most sacred secret on earth.
“I am in love with you too, Mick” She looked into his eyes and fell in love with him all over again.
