You get an unexpected visitor on a slow night at work in the corner store that brightens your night just a bit.
Elijah Mikaelson x Reader
Warnings: none
A little P.S.: I’m trying to get back into writing a bit more. Requests are open for other Marvel characters as well as other movies and shows. Just go ahead and ask and I’ll let you know if i write for them. Thank You! Happy reading :)

It’s been a long day at the shop today. A bunch of coworkers called in leaving me to fend for myself as the swarms of tourists came in. Being a one stop shop at the corner of the French Quarter wasn’t the best. I mean it’s convenient for the the people, employees not so much. It was nearing 11pm and I’ve had my fair share of drunken customers stumble into the shop buying more alcohol than was really needed. Thankfully it was closing time. As I was stocking up the shelves on the candy isle, I heard the bell of the door ring. The sign read closed but the person was probably too drunk to read.
“Sorry we’re closed,” I said as I popped my head up to see who I was gladly turning away.
“My apologies, but if you don’t mind, I’m in desperate need of some baby food for a toddler who won’t stop crying and is probably about to go to drastic measures until she gets some food.” To my surprise there stood (a very stressed looking might I add) Elijah Mikaelson. He was one of 4 of the Mikaelson brothers, the one who was always the most sharp dressed. He must’ve been on Uncle duties for the night and by the looks of it, he might be having a harder shift than I was at work.
“Oh. Um yeah sure. We have a few over this way,” I said motiong towards the direction of the baby food aisle then headed over towards the cash register to get ready ring him up. I mean who was I to turn down a Elijah Mikaelson? His family basically runs the French Quarter and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t fancy him just a little bit. I see him around town all the time, just never had the guts to go up to him.
A few minutes went by and he finally walked up holding a few things of baby food.
“Green peas?” I asked with a little less than pleased look on my face.
“What?” he replied “Do you reckon I try something else? It says it has vitamins in it.”
“Let me ask you something,” I start. “Is this crying kind of like a ‘I’m over this just leave me alone? Or a ‘please don’t put me down I really REALLY want something kind of cry?”
“It’s actually quite loud and hasn’t stopped all day. I actually gave her some food but she didn’t want it so I thought I’d try another type.”
“How old is she?”
“About 1,” the Mikaelson answered.
“Hmm sounds like she might be teething,” I informed. “Here, let me help you out.” I grabbed the green peas from his hand and walked back towards the baby stuff. Elijah followed with a confused yet thankful look on his face.
“Fist of all, you’ll need one of these,” I said handing him a teething ring. “Second of all, if like keeping that suit of yours clean, I suggest you go with the bananas. The little ones tend to spit out the greens a lot.”
“Thank you,” he said accepting the items I picked out. “How do you know all of this stuff anyways?” he asked on our way back to the register.
“I helped my mother raise my little siblings so I kind of learned all the loopholes,” I answered as I rung up the stuff.
“Well she certainly taught you well. There’s a lot of us at the house, but this is one thing where we’re positive that we all don’t really know what we’re doing. I’m actually really glad you had the stuff. I wouldn’t think a corner store in the french quarter would supply such things but I was kind of desperate” he chuckled.
“$6.29 is your total,” I said after ringing up the last item. “I guess you can say that. And yeah, not much parents come by here, but it never hurts to be prepared,” I smiled.
“Well I’m Certainly glad you were, and I’m sure the rest of my siblings will be too,” he returned the smile. “Say, do you think you’d ever want to stop by sometime and maybe help out with a few things with the little one? We’re all great with her, but it’d be nice to have someone who knows what they’re doing show us a few things.
Elijah Mikaelson just invited me to come over sometime and it was taking everything in me not to die in front of him.
“Of course,” I answered, “I’d love too.”
“Great! Well, Y/N” he says reading my name-tag. “Have yourself  a wonderful night.”
“Thanks,” I blushed. “You too.” And with that he was out the door. With the help of a Mikaelson, maybe this long day didn’t turn out to be too bad after all.

A Light In All the Darkness
Summary: A night out turns into a night at home and some confessed feelings
Warnings: A little angsty. No major warning. Might be a few grammar errors.
Word count: 1,438
A little P.S.: I’m trying to get back into writing a bit more. Requests are open for other Marvel characters as well as other movies and shows. Just go ahead and ask and I’ll let you know if i write for them. Thank You! Happy reading :)
“Hey Buck, are you almost ready? I’ll be ready in 5,” I say finishing the last couple of curls in my hair. I don’t get a response from him, but he’s probably just busy. Things have been going pretty good the last couple of weeks. It’s a Saturday night and I have a family thing. With how well Bucky has been feeling, we thought it’d be a good idea for him to be my plus one for the night.
After taking one last look in the mirror, I grab my lipstick,  shoving it into the purse I had laying on the bed. As I make my way to the kitchen I notice the apartment is empty.
“Buck?” I call out, but no answer. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little worried. It was a little unlike him to disappear without saying anything. Even if it was just a quick walk to the corner store, he would always let me know. Eventually, I noticed the sliding door to the patio was cracked open.
“There you are. I was looki- oh, sorry,” my voice lowered after I noticed him jump at my sudden appearance at the door.
“Oh, hey Doll,” he turns, acting like I didn’t just scare him. Something about him seemed a little off.
Almost like his thoughts were somewhere else.
“What’s wrong?” I ask studying his face for an answer. He frowns a little.
“Nothing,” he lies. I could see that he knew that I knew that was a lie. I can’t say I’ve known Bucky as long as Steve has, but I can say that I know about him just as much as Steve. I first saw Bucky when I was helping Natasha and Steve sort out some stuff when Hydra took over S.H.I.E.L.D. After that, Steve had asked me to help out with getting him away from half of the Avengers. Steve was a good friend of mine, and if he said his best friend was somewhere behind the dark side of the Winter Soldier, then I was going to take his word for it.
It was hard to really get to know each other before the blip with him going to Wakanda, and then the big war. Also, can’t forget the 5 years in between. But after Steve went back to return the stones, Bucky and I got closer. As cheesy as it sounds, we both lost a friend but found each other. Steve wasn’t wrong about Bucky. Sometimes just I wish he realized it.
“Bucky,” I look at him with pleading eyes.
“Don’t look at me like that,” he says, as he heads inside. “Don’t we have to go now?”
“We’re not going until you tell me what's wrong,” I protest.
“Wow Y/n, I’m not 5. I told you I’m fine. So let's go. Don’t wanna be late.”
“Is it the party? I told you I could just go alone.” I’m pushing. I know I shouldn’t push, I’m sure it has to do with something that must’ve happened earlier in the day, but what if the idea of being at a party is making him anxious. The last thing I would want to do is be the reason he’s upset. But when he shuts down it’s hard to get anything out of him.
“I told you I was fine,” he flinches as he realizes how loud his voice was. “Can we please just go?” he says, lowering his tone. I didn’t move from where I was standing.
“I’ll meet you in the car,” he rolls his eyes and heads for the door.
“Please don’t shut me out!” I blurt out stopping him in his tracks.
“I shut everyone out Doll,” he shouts, turning and shutting the door harder than he intended to. “It’s just easier that way.”
“But you don’t have to,” I move towards his direction. “Please, just let me in.”
“For what? I let you in and then you leave too?” That hurt. It hurts to see how much he’s hurting about Steve. I lost a friend after the blip, but Bucky lost his best friend. He lost his best friend during a time when he needed him the most.
“Bucky, I’m not going anywhere,” I say grabbing one of his hands.
He pulls his hand away and moves towards the couch sitting down.
“With everything you know about me. Everything I’ve done. The people I’ve hurt. I know I’m not the best to be around. This is the first time we’re going out in what? Months? How do I know that one day you’re not going to get tired of it and just leave? I’d even be tired of me. Hell, I am tired of me.”
“I’m not going anywhere” I argue.
“How do you know?!” he yells.
“Because I love you!” I yell back. We both freeze. Our wide eyed expressions matching each other. A surprise to us both. Those three words are something we’ve never said to each other before. I’ve felt it for a while, but always too scared to say anything.
“You what?” he finally breaks the silence.
“I-I love you?” It comes out more like a question. He falls silent again, and now I’m becoming the stressed out person in the room.
“Bucky, please say something.”
“Really?” He questions me again. This man is really going to make me repeat myself.
“Are you really going to make me say it again? Yes Bucky, I love y-”
“I love you too,” he interrupts .
“You do?” it was my turn to question the same words I just told him.
“Yes, and that scares me. One minute I’m the Winter Soldier, next minute I’m back with Steve trying to get my life back together and he has this person with him that was such a light in all this darkness. I- I fell in love with you the moment I met you. And it scares me that I’m in love with someone who I can’t be everything they want and need.”
I couldn’t hold in my laugh.
“Ar- are you laughing at me?” He was looking at me like I was a crazy person. This man just poured his soul out to me, and I was laughing.
“I’m s- I’m sorry,” I finally spit out. “But did we really just yell at each other and then confess our love?”
“We did. Didn't we?” He cringes at how cliche our little moment is, but begins to laugh it off as well.
I move over to the couch he’s sitting on and take a seat next to him. I grab both of his hands holding them in mine.
“Really Buck, I do love you and I promise you I’m not going anywhere. I don’t know what happened today, or what's bothering you, but I won’t make you talk about it now. Just promise me that you’ll let me in. Let me be there for you. You don’t have to do this alone”
“Alright,” he says looking down at our hands. I feel him rubbing little circles around my hands with his thumb. “I promise.”
“Hey,” I say, getting his attention and eyes back on mine. “I got an idea.”
“Does it involve something illegal?” he joked
“No,” I roll my eyes. “Why don’t we stay in tonight? I’ll text my sister and say something came up. Maybe say the stomach flu or something.”
“No, it’s your family. We should go,” he protests.
“We can make it to the next one. Trust me, they’ll understand. Plus we got some music to catch up on. Come on, are you really gonna turn down a night of relaxing, listening to music and maybe a little bit of wine with your ‘light in all the darkness?’” I wiggled my eyebrows at him bringing up what he said about me earlier.
“Alright. Ok, you got me,” he laughed.
A few minutes later we’re both in more comfortable clothes. Bucky is picking out a wine from the cabinet while I sit on the floor by the speaker deciding what music we’re going to listen to.
I make my decision on the music and hit play. Bucky walks in as the sound of “I’ll Be Seeing You” by Billie Holiday plays on the speaker.
“1940’s huh?” he asks, setting the glasses of wine down.
“It’s a favorite,” I shrug.
“Well,” he says, walking over to where I’m sitting, and reaches his hand out. “Would you like to dance?”
“I’d love to,” I smile and grab his hand.
As we swayed along to the music, I can feel him begin to relax more. The tension in the room from earlier no longer there. Just Bucky and I in the peace of our apartment, away from anything in the outside world that would threaten it. Even if it was just for a moment.

Movie Night
This is an old Peter Parker x Reader one shot I had posted on my older tumblr I had accidentally deleted. I loved this one too much not to post again on my new account. Hope you guys enjoy it! My requests are open for any fics so feel free to send some in!
“I can’t believe you’re making me watch this,” complained your best friend Peter. With Peter being Spiderman there hasn’t been much time to hang out, so when you both found the time you scheduled a movie night at your house and you picked the first movie. You could never go wrong with the Paranormal Activity films.
“Oh come on Parker, you basically fight monsters and bad guys for a living, this can’t scare you that much,” you said.
“Well for your information Y/N, it’s not everyday that I get called to go fight a ghost in a haunted house.”
“Oh you’ll be fine. Here,” you said standing up. “I’ll leave the light on so you don’t get scared,” you teased.
“Whatever,” said Peter. “Let’s just get this over with so we can watch my pick.” And with that you popped the movie in the DVD player and hit play.
“See Pete, you survived the movie,” you said as the credit rolled.
“Yeah barley. From now on we’re agreeing to no more horror movies. Did you see the way poor Micah got thrown like he was nothing? That stuff can probably happen you know?” he answered.
“Peter you’re fine,” you laughed. “If any ghost ever came after you, I promise I’ll do my best to fight him off.”
“It’s not funny,” he chucked a little bit. “You know how I feel about scary movies.”
“You’re right, and I’m sorry. Go ahead and pop your choice in, I’m gonna run to the bathroom real quick,” You said getting up.
“Alright,” Peter said. “I can’t say that I accept your apology though.”
After washing your hands you reached for the bathroom door. As you opened the door you were faced with a dark hallway. You thought you turned the hall light on but realized that maybe you didn’t. As you exited the bathroom you realized that the whole house was pitch black.
“Peter?” you called out cursing yourself for not taking your phone with you to the bathroom. That flashlight would’ve come in handy.
“Peter this isn’t funny,” you said as you heard no response. “I’m sorry I made you watch the movie. Can you cut it out now?” You were getting more and more nervous the further into the living room you walked. You and Peter always joked around, but he’s the worst at hiding because he always starts laughing. This time you heard nothing.
You finally felt your way to a light switch and just as you were about to turn it on you felt something jump out and grab you.
“AHHHH!” you let out a scream as you were about to take a swing at whatever had just grabbed you suddenly stopping as you realized it was Peter.
“Peter are you serious?!” You asked turning on the light. “You nearly gave me a heart attack. I was about to punch you!”
“I’m ss sor-” Peter tried getting out but couldn’t due to how much he was laughing. You were ready to kill him but realized you deserved it for making him watch the movie.
“I’m sorry Y/N,” he finally calmed down a bit. “But you should’ve seen your face. You were like ‘Peter it’s not fun- ahhhh’,” he mocked in a high pitched voice.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. I guess I deserved that,” you said. “Can we start your movie now?”
“Yeah,” he answered sill laughing a bit. “It’s already in the DVD player. I figured we’d go with some Star Wars,” Peter said sitting down on the couch and making some room for you to join him.
“Good choice. Can’t go wrong with that,” you said taking the spot on the couch he left open for you.
“Oh yeah and Y/N?” Peter asked.
“Yeah?” you answered.
“I accept your apology now. I mean it’s the least I could do after giving you a heart attack,” he teased.
“Oh wow that’s so kind of you,” you sarcastically replied. “I was thinking of revoking you of your best friend title after your little stunt, but I guess maybe you can keep it,” you joked.
“Oh you know you love me,” he said back.
“Hmm I don’t know about that, I have to think about it,” you stuck your tongue out.
“Well for the record, if a ghost came in and tried to take you away like in the movie, I’d still try to fight it off even if I was scared. I am Spider-Man after all.” Peter said. You blushed a little at his comment, but tried to play it off.
“Smooth Parker. Real Smooth,” you laughed. Peter replied with a smile and was about to say something but then the beginning credits of Star Wars started so you both started watching the movie.
Although you acted like you were mad, you could never be mad or upset at Peter. Minus the small heart attack he nearly gave you, it was definitely a much needed movie night with your best friend.
