Sometimes I have failed as a wife/gf, mother, friend, daughter or sister, I don't always say the right things. I don't have an amazing figure anymore. I'm not the most beautiful woman in the world, but I'm me. I love to eat, at times I have a smart mouth, I have secrets I'm ashamed of, I have scars; emotional and physical, because I have a history. Some people love me, some like me, some don't. I have done good. I have done bad. I go without make up, I don't get dressed up most days and I'm random and silly. I don't pretend to be someone I'm not...I am who I am, you can love me or not. And if I love you, I do it with my whole heart not when it's convenient! I make no apologies for the way I am. I AM ME! I will never forget the sound of heartbreak in Mike’s voice while he sang this song for Chester.

The haunting “Looking For An Answer” would be an incredible and memorable single.  I would love to hear it finished by the band – a labor of sorrow and love in a process they plan to share with the entire LP family… A literal way of healing and working through the pain of losing Chester.

To see what this song becomes would be amazing, but I hope that they have Mike’s live performance on the B side. 

Nothing can replace this moment, and I know I’m not alone in saying that it will stay with me forever.

The idea for 320 was born out of my personal experience and the recognition that we can do better to address the needs of those who are suffering with mental health concerns and addiction. For 13 years I watched my husband Chester struggle with depression and substance use. I often felt scared and alone. I was uneducated about the challenges he faced and I wanted information – but finding answers to my questions and available help for our family was very difficult.After my husband lost his battle with depression and addiction, I knew I had to make a change to the mental health landscape. I began speaking to as many mental health groups as I could find.So here is what I learned. We don’t need to create more programs – there are good ones out there. But we do need to do two things. We need to streamline access to the help that IS available. And we need to change the culture of mental health so that those in need – and their family members – are able to speak openly about their struggles so that they can seek the care they deserve.
